It was refreshing to see both Eric O. And Mrs. O. Having such a great time at the shop. The repair videos are always top notch but its nice to have a break away from time to time to see the banter between the two. The SMA channel is about the entire shop life too. Both always smiling and laughing with each other. I sign of a great marriage. Great job.
Get Mrs O a dam light! Lol I spent forty years eating sandwiches I made and brought from home, you're living like a king! Good video, I've had to rebuild many calipers cause the boot tore when tried to get the air out, the salt and crap on the roads here in NYC shortens the life of everything.
Nice video as usual. Vanessa takes good care of you...good cooked meals, taking care of customers, a little humor, and a little egging...pleasure watching you both!
Eric, I've watched and enjoyed so many videos I feel like an employee! Nice shop, tools galore, lifts, lights and over the top skills and a sense of humor! Thanks Again Bob
If there was nothing else in these videos, just watching the love in the eyes between you and Mrs.O is well worth the time in watching. God Bless your family Eric.
Thank mr Eric o. After watching your brake videos I felt I could do my own. And to my surprise I actually did it and you know the car even stopped!! Lol. You do it so often I know it’s boring but it really helps “the people” save money and get the satisfaction of completing it yourself. Even had my son help which is priceless. You two rock!!
You're videos are absolutely amazing. I initially found your channel for the diagnosing side of things. But I stayed watching for reasons other than just that. You are such a good down-to-earth person and the chemistry between you and your wife is amazing. The little additions of you and your wife like in this video just make the videos that much better. Right now, I'm going through a tough time in my life and watching your videos gets me through. I want to take a minute to thank you for all your time to make these videos. I truly wish you and your family the best in life. You all deserve it.
I modified my brake job skills after seeing one of your videos about six months ago. Not that mine were bad but I think (and now know) that yours are better, and after six months I haven't had one comeback (of course I will now). 30 years in this business and still, always learning. Thanks for the great videos my friend...
When you said for the next 20 Minutes I was gonna have to watch you file, I sighed and kept watching fully aware that I can fast forward past that part... even the file part was interesting... hell yeah!
Came back to this videos after many years to help remind me the easy way to do the brakes on our Rogue. It was the first video that I came across of Mr O just by chance. After this one video I was addicted and couldnt stop watching SMA. Even watching it again I still laugh. Thank you Mr O. for all the teaching and all the laughs
When you told your story about your grinder and you mentioned you had just opened up your shop but didn’t have lifts yet, I chuckled a little because that’s where I’m at right now at 27 and have some tools and fix some of my coworkers vehicles. By the way I learn something new everyday with brakes, when you mentioned about the boot puffing. I’ll have to keep and eye on that next time I do breaks. Love your videos.
After several shitty days of hurricane preparations and then the mother of all hurricanes, (IRMA), I needed a fun video with the wonderful addition of a beautiful lady. Made me smile. ;) And what was that, hmmmm, oh yeah, brakes... Good job..
I just did my wife's Sorento brakes and used the info in your other brake hardware video. It was slightly different than what I usually do and I'll admit, your way is better. They came out great. You can teach an old dog new tricks.
Always love seeing someone else doing the work. :). Pretty good job working those brakes. Also, Mrs. O. is looking out for your health with the eating of the healthier choice sweet potatoes. Keep up the good work, South Main FAM. :)
I like his channel he does not use foul language. I also worked for Jasper for 5 years. They treated us good but there was a layoff and I went in the navy where I spent 7 years on submarines and got hurt bad lost both leggs
On board the submarine I was out to sea and we were doing a torpedo MK 48 and a chain broke which was rated for 20 ton broke at 14 tons. Made in China When it swung it crushed me from the waist down. I was medicated by helicopter to a hospital in Scotland where I spent 2 months before being shipped to a hospital in the USA. But I can say I went around the world and hit a lot of port calls. My dad was a mechanic for over 50 years so I love your videos it reminds me of him working on cars. And also I have plenty of spare time
Great video as always Eric.19:11 Tip for Mrs. O, don't tap the edge of the frying pan with metal handled utensils, it may damage the finish, use wood or plastic instead.
Hi Eric. I know this video is a number of years old, but I am systematically viewing all of your videos. Here is what I learned in this video: (1) if you can do it, I can do it and (2) Mrs. O. owns you! Cheers!
Awesome!! So much fun watching you two goin for gold while having fun doing it. We loves ya both! Oh yeah and on the Nissan whatcha-macallit... Great job.
After watching your brake jobs, I imported from the US the brake lube you use, excellent stuff. In Australia they wanted $50usd compared to $16usd from the States.
The infamous light sabre over the sweet potato reach around. Always entertaining and informative. Salutations to you, Mrs., O and the entire O clan....
Nothing wrong with your filing......my fitting and machining training in Australia....no lifting of the file on the return stroke, it clears the file teeth of swarf, and makes it easier to maintain a flat surface. Keep up the good work.
Those Astro nano impacts are great. I had to replace rusted out brake lines in my Alero and the fittings were super seized in the ABS module hidden way down under everything (thanks GM). Swivel adapter and the 3/8 nano popped them out with no damage and no problems. Wouldn't have been able to do it without the nano.
Awesome break show, the interruptions make this channel the best on the internet super highway of knowledge, again your work ethic is above and beyond and so is Mrs. O!!
I like your banter with Mrs O when you do your videos, she is a hoot! You cant hang a dang light in that little corner you give Mrs. O for her cooking???? :-)
I know you said you hoped no one was using this video as a tutorial but hey, I never listen. Just did a brake pad and rotor replacement on my 2016 Rogue and it went exactly as shown. Thanks for the great video......although I have to admit I didn't get sweet potatoes and pork chops for my lunch....oh well. Greetings from South Dansville!
Eric, I enjoy watching you and Mrs. "O"! You both are too funny sometimes, Thanks for your educational videos they have help me learn so much and the entertainment from the both of you. Hoping one day come by and visit once we retire.
Just had the same discussion with my wife over sweet potatoes! Had them last week. Never really liked them either - just give me regular, white mashed with butter and salt, and I'm happy. Nice kitchen light there, LOL! :D
I agree Eric, white potatoes are better. Good job, thanks, I finally realize those are parking brake shoes! Mrs O is a good sport plus makes you a great lunch.
Your commentary cracks me up. I like the story behind the grinder too. I have a cheap grinder and an expensive grinder. Guess which one is my favorite? Poor Vanessa working in the dark but then "boom". Now she blind. :)
Hey Eric; I just wanna say that you have an awesome family, and that you are King 👑 when it comes to RUclips mechanics, and car repair videos. Im’ma have to pay you a visit to your shop one day, before I pass from this world. ✌️
Wow what a setup. I have watched so many videos, always impressed by your approach, tools, and skill. Always a pleasure to have your wife say hello, she never seems to be anything but happy (mind you always seem in good humour too). Then we see you have a kitchen at your garage! Next cooking videos?
Thanks Eric. Seems like some weeks your videos are the only good things that happen in the world! Would you share with Mrs. O we understand it's tough to prepare gourmet lunches with and electric skillet, hot plate and microwave? It's always fun to watch you amp up the show for her and we get to share in the humor. Have a great weekend.
Entertaining and educational, all at the same time. I have a gut feeling, if the light had the strobe feature, you would of clicked it, and casually walked away.
I learned a valuable lesson from these instructions; A light installation for that dear sweet lady rates much higher on the scale of importance than a Nissan brake job! If mama ain't happy nobody is happy
Awesome video vato, and very helpful. I've always replaced my brakes on my older cars but weren't sure if I can do it on my newer Rogue. So now I see there's nothing to it. Thanks.
Bone-in chops are great for grilling; you usually have crappy temperature control with a grill and they don't dry out as easily. Boneless are great for pan frying; you get more meat, a leaner cut, and with the better temperature control of a stovetop you can keep them from drying out. Neither one's ever a bad choice, but they do have their different strengths. :)
Just got an Astro 450 lm light bc of this channel. Upgrade from the OTC light. I'll use both, but the Astro is a much better at getting into smaller spaces.
Hey Eric, thanks for all these viceos, I love them! I had a bad brake job about two weeks ago. '03 Lexus GS300, all new rotors and pads and parking brake shoes and brake fluid, done by the local Toyota/Lexus dealer, so I assume all parts are OEM. Right after it was done I took a short 50-60km trip and the brakes were sqeaking, but not only when braking, but also while driving! Especially right after parking with the parking brake. Slight brake pedal pressure and the noise gone away. But after that short trip all four rims were quite hot to the touch. But I didn't see burn or discoloration on the rotors. So I gave it a week to maybe "wear in" or settle, and the rims aren't hot now anymore, but the brakes are still sqeaking very loudly while stopping or going slow with soft braking, and occassionally it still squeaks while driving. Slight braking a few times and they usually stop squeking. So worried about cooking the rotors or the brake fluid, I took it back to Toyota, they inspected it but didn't find anything abnormal: everything is moving fine, nothing is pinched. They blame the noise on these new pads with copper particles. But I don't think the brakes should squeak while driving? Also fuel consumption is unusually higher now. Any thoughts? Do you think they just didn't clean and lubricate the parts? I think I'll let it redo by my own mechanic.
I really like the way you explain the job step by step so it's easy for use to understand.P.s. keep up the humer and jokes its nice and makes the job lest dramatic!! :)thanks
Your video's are always a little better when Mrs. O makes an appearance.
😂😂
I want some Pork chops
How could anyone criticize Mrs O? She's awesome!
Yeah shes the real good wife.
You're a lucky man Eric O....she's a doll!
It was refreshing to see both Eric O. And Mrs. O. Having such a great time at the shop. The repair videos are always top notch but its nice to have a break away from time to time to see the banter between the two. The SMA channel is about the entire shop life too. She is the best wife I ever had... the only one but still the best one :D
The saying is "never change a winning team".
I was like, "Not another brake job video" but then Mrs. O came in and really brightened things up.
I think Mrs O should host a cooking show on RUclips. I'd definitely watch...
In.
But then Mr O. would need to make an appearance in her videos for all the ladies watching so pretend borrow a kitchen tool for something
Suddenly you hear "What's for lunch, lady?" 😂
@@anthonycox9470 and if she can't find a spice.. "Well there's your problem, gentleman.."

Your best videos incorporate your wonderful family. You are blessed to have them. Cheers!
Its always good when you include Mrs O
Best video hands down. This cat doesn't miss a step. No other video shows how to relieve air in a boot before replacement. I might have screwed up.
Nice video as usual. Vanessa takes good care of you...good cooked meals, taking care of customers, a little humor, and a little egging...pleasure watching you both!
Eric,
I've watched and enjoyed so many videos I feel like an employee!
Nice shop, tools galore, lifts, lights and over the top skills and a sense of humor!
Thanks Again

Great job, all good! Zero criticism and props to Mrs. O for taking good care. Thanks for sharing.
The people love Mrs. O and she can interrupt whenever she wants!
She will only help make the video better, and the thumbnail easier on the eyes.
This episode is an instant classic! So many good stories, and wise cracks!
Yep, Love Mrs. O (she funny)
That's entertainment!
Thanks Much!
Every Tool has a Hammer Side !!!! Never heard that one before today !!! Eric, you keep coming up with new sayings !

Noticed how you say "Come on little fella" more the older you get. P

Loved seeing Mrs O in the videos and how they interact.
Good video eric o. Brake job video and cooking show from Mrs.o Thanks eric for what you do
I have a degree in fileology and I say the method of filing that puts food on the table is the method to use.

LOL, if WE have an obsession with brake cleaner?? Why yes, yes we do. Let the spraying commence.
This is the best You Tube channel ever!!!
Always love seeing someone else doing the work. :). Pretty good job working those brakes. Also, Mrs. O. is looking out for your health with the eating of the healthier choice sweet potatoes. Keep up the good work, South Main FAM. :)

Uhm, you just burped a piston boot. Never seen that before and you captured it perfectly with that closeup. Pretty cool sir! Thanks!
Awesome!! So much fun watching you two goin for gold while having fun doing it. We loves ya both! Oh yeah and on the Nissan whatcha-macallit... Great job.
Great idea but the setting needs to be the way it is. Maybe add how to cook on a hot exhaust manifold if stuck in a pinch on the road.
After watching your brake jobs, I imported from the US the brake lube you use, excellent stuff. In Australia they wanted $50usd compared to $16usd from the States.

I had to change the rear rotors on my daughter's 2009 AWD Rogue. You made it look easy.
Lots of pepper on the chops, excellent.
always been a fan of NAPA premium brakes..good product and comes with new stainless hardware
Thanks for the tips Eric O. It seems you and ETCG had some humble starts. But Look where both Erics are here today!!

Another great South Main Auto Repair/Home Repair/Cooking Show. Now back to the hurricane Irma news.

Once again, the quotes just keep on coming! And lunch looks great too!

Fantastic Eric O and Mrs O is just top 👍🏻
Thank you for the advice on filing the caliper's "guides". I used to wire brush them with the Dremel and had a lot of "shiny rust"
I like the NuWave induction cooktop your wife uses. Their pots are ridiculously expensive. But they work well. Nice video.
Great video Mr. O! We learned someting about brakes, AND marrige. Super!
Thanks for the videos. I was able to fix my sisters brakes and save her alot of money, thanks again

i really like your videos as you make them fun but informative. and Mrs. O gives them class
Ah 2005. You started sma while i was going thru military training.
That was a fun year
A brake job and a home cooked meal, or I guess a shop cooked meal. Nice way to to eat healthy much better than fast food. Great video.

Any thoughts? Do you think they just didn't clean and lubricate the parts? I think I'll let it redo by my own mechanic.
I’m no mechanic but it sounds like you had a parking brake issue. Since you had rear drums.
