This looks great can't wait to do it. I'm a little behind but going slowly. Can't wait to see Nov and Dec patterns then finish this one and start another one/two. Like the 2017 and 2020 blanket planning on doing them, too.
Been looking forward to this all week. I'll have to catch it later. Robert and I are celebrating our anniversary today, so we're out and about. He took me yarn shopping too!! What a guy!! I believe I will keep him!!
I started this project in August and I caught up to October and got so excited when this vid popped up!! This is my first calenders blanket thank u for this.
Weldone you. That is amazing that you have caught up, you should be pretty chuffed with that. I know what you mean when a new pattern comes up it is quite exciting, or do i just have a boring life🤔😏. Anyway, good on ya. Enjoy!
Mine, too. But, then in july, I had a 2nd stroke, the 1st, when i was 53. This one I'm 65. Both times, I've had to reteach myself to crochet, so I'm waaay behind. But, i did jan in rainbow colours, looks so awesome! Even my husband likes it, even tho he doesn't like bright colours. He's always finding ways to encourage me. He makes me spell. So, i skipped to june, & am to blue on it. Making inside dark, edge light. Like kelly green, with mint edge.
Thank you for the this beautiful tutorial, all of them are so we'll done. I appreciate you all and I'm so glad you posted so early. Have a blessed weekend.
I am catching up now and only two more to go! I kept forgetting which side of 3 and 4 chains on the side. I decided to chain 4 on both sides and I realize its equal spaces perfectly. I am happy! Thank you for the tutorial!!
I was just watching the video and thinking how smooth you make it look. My blanket looks kinda terrible on a few strips but I'm pushing forward and thoroughly enjoy learning all these stitches. I love how well you explain everything.
Hi! When a blanket project is finished, it's always a nice idea to block it, this takes out the ripples and bumps etc. If you've never blocked a project before, we have a couple of tutorials on that here: Steam Blocking: ruclips.net/video/HUlrCf9IDFI/видео.html Wash and Block: ruclips.net/video/lZuIiDHdpT8/видео.html
I love this stitch.... thanks for the awesome tutorial. I've been doing the blanket all along and i decided i'm going to take my favorite stitch and make a mmam blanket from that one stitch ( i already bought my yarn...lol), it was the January stitch - now it looks like October is the winner... so far... we will see what November and December bring but October is going to be tough to beat. Thanks for all you share with us. Funny thing is when i found you on you tube by accident i thought how great learn more about crochet and get rid of all that yarn i had laying around for yearssssss. Crazy now i have more yarn than ever before, but i am making this calendar blanket from mostly scrap yarn so i am getting rid of the old stuff.
Hi Lisa! Soooo, we accidentally sparked a new obsession with yarn? * giggle * That's great! we're so happy to have you along for this year's blanket project 😁
This took me by surprise!! I knew it was Friday, I knew it was the First, but didn't put the two together!!!!!!!! I was thinking this would be next week!!!! *Smacks self in the head LOL This would look really cool staggered. Work row 1 and 2, then for rows 3 and 4 have the open diamonds on top of the closed ones and the closed diamond on top of the open one. Then keep working rows 1 - 4. I might need to try that as it's own project!
I agree . Caught me by surprise too. Can't keep up. Time's really moving. Gave me an idea for my next project- candy corn pullover sweater. Staggering the diamonds would be cute 😍
Love this pattern. PLEASE bring your mother-in-law into the video and have her teach us the way she crochets. She is amazing. PLEASE. My hands cramp up now while crocheting the way she crochets with just 1 hand looks like I would be able to do this with no cramping . Thank You
Will you be doing a project like this in 2022? I'm learning quickly and hope you will. Thanks for your tips. I'll share a picture of my sunflower poncho.
First I am so jealous of your joy, it’s just awesome, second the pattern chosen is beautiful and third you picked just the right color for October Halloween month. The color reminds me of those little candy corn sold only during this month genius and so generous to share your talent. ❤️❤️❤️
Jadya I am following along with your 2021 calendar blanket and enjoying it. I was looking for your 2019 blanket tutorial this morning to finish it off. I have to do all the border and also sew some of the houses on but I found I can no longer access it.
Hi Kay, it hasn't gone anywhere 😊 You can find it a few ways: search Jayda InStitches and the name of the specific video or project and it will pop up here on RUclips; head to our website (link in the description) and visit the Calendar Blanket page where Mr. InStitches has curated every single Calendar Blanket project and video there or; check out the playlist here: ruclips.net/p/PLU-tvdaf-FncznJ4DWLcONQTRS5eSZVkD
Yay, October gorgeous, cleaver and understandable. Can not believe it is our 10th strip! I think I probably said that about every month that goes by. Loving the long project. Txo
just a note... I have been sewing the strips together.. I find it lays flatter and the yarn hides well within the stiches... thank you for making this blanket, as a learner of crochet it is very challenging for me..
Ty I am with you on OCT.. I already made one Mile a minute blanket.. all in one stitch but different for the months. Colors are the birthstone. On blanket two with same colors but each stitch as you share.. waited 2 weeks ago for OCT. I am here crocheting with you.. :-)
Hi! Great video! That pattern is so pretty and I love your clear instructions. I'm in the UK and am well used to converting US to UK terms (SC is DC, DC is treble etc.). I find it interesting in your videos that you very kindly refer to UK hook sizes by the really old system - you might find it useful to know that the vast majority of today's British crocheters refer to hook sizes here by the millimetre measurement (4mm, 5mm, 6mm) - some very very very old hooks have are labelled with the old number system measurement, but I'm talking about ones that belonged to my grandmother, not ones that we'd buy new today.
Hi Anne! Yes, most of us are using the metric system, but, if you're like me and you learned on old hooks (and still have them), I found it helpful to know what you're looking at since the US still use a numbered system (on some hooks) and it differs from the UK old number system. Here in Canada our hooks and terminology (like nearly everything) is a hybrid between US and UK so we wanted to include as much info as we could 💗
Yay! I am just a wee bit behind; there was a strip, I think July,...that I need to do, as well as finish September...but that isn't too bad! I can't believe we are in October already.... What would be fun is a Vlogtober, or Nlogtober stitch along, where every DAY, we do a small square, different stitch each day...to make a small blanket!
Ty I'll get this going..be done by the end of the day. Actually took me a couple of days.. ran out of gold color, but misplaced rest somewhere...lol . :-)
This one annoyed me. I got the first like 10 rows then set it down and am convinced I did something wrong so I scrapped it and am working on Jacob's ladder for the 10th column. Maybe I will come back to it but I'm going to give Nov and Dec a walk before I decide.
Think this would look great if the diamonds alternated. Ok it will be a 4 row repeat. But would vary it a bit to have solid, open, solid and then open, solid, open etc. I think I've worked out the pattern, will give it a go to see 😁
Hello I am excited to get this one done. Jayda I have a question...will you do a border around the completed blanket to even it out? The long sides on mine look great but the top and bottom looks a little wonky. Maybe it all works out at the end after blocking but I have never blocked a blanket before.
Hi Margaret! Cotton is always ok for blankets, and Aran weight would be find for this project, you might want to use a slightly larger hook than I'm using, say a 6.00 mm or even a 6.50 mm, but do a little gauge test first to see for yourself which you like better 😊
