How does staples keep the corner bead secure. Aren’t you supposed to attach it to the framing. If you bumped the corner wouldn’t the whole thing crack the whole length?

These staples are long enough to go into the framing slightly. And then the drywall mud and paint secures everything. But you don't make it a habit running into drywall. It will dent and crack at any point. That's why they make sparkling and touch up paint.

Yes you are correct. Don’t use staples. Drywall nails are proper fasteners.

I've watched plasterers in Australia do this with staples for 35 years.... My house 14 years ago ....and yet to see even the smallest crack. Use the right mud and you're all good.

Aim to put the "arms" of the staple in the holes rather than in the metal.
