Then I open windows in bedroom and sweet the bug out, under the quilt. Always works for me, I prefer the blackcurrant lemsip. Hope both have quick recovery.

Hey guys, I cook up a large saucepan of water, add about 10 to 20 cloves, a sliced apple, the peel of a orange (use a potato peeler to get it off the orange, cinnamon stick or two, a really big squeeze of honey, a lemon cut into four, some fresh pine (few sprigs off a tree) then simmer to reduce by roughly a third to infuse everything. Allow to cool slightly before drinking or put it in a flask minus the bits. Should last you a few days if you do a good amount and gets stronger each day. Seems to work for us every time.
Day and night nurse capsules seem to work for me but they warn the night nurse may make you drowsy so best avoid driving. I've found prevention better by taking Vick's First Defence at the first sign you may have a cold, just a spray up each nostril and it seems to stop it developing. Re boots I use Meindl Bhutan which have been very reliable and waterproof but expensive! Regards Keith
Boot wise, hi Tec summits from go outdoors are great, 2mm thick anfibio leather outers, sympatex membrane and stiff mid sole and grippy out sole, I'm on my second pair in 7 years! Use Scarpa silicone wax on them.dont let the brand name put you off, they're hi tecs top of the range and made in the same factory as Scarpa Terra's in Romania 👍🏻

It's not the bath test they fail on, it's the actual walking and flexing of the membrane and it failing after a few months. Weirdly they all pass the bath test at the beginning.

Not tried them out in the cold yet but the fit is ok and they seem well made. My old Amazon soft shells have knackered pocket zips so needed to replace them. The decathlon stuff is usually pretty good though.

Yeah I think the quality has slipped recently so if you have an old pair keep hold of them. Altbergs is another option. Gareths been through lots of water in his and they never a drop in. Just don't want to spend £250 and be back to square 1 in 6 months time 😭

Boots wise, hiking boots from aldi or lidl, around £19, waterproof, good grip, comfortable and last a fairly long time. Not leather.
Lowa Mountain/Military boots UK. Expensive but last a lifetime. Waterproof and comfortable.

Change into dry socks when you get to camp and put bread bags over socks to keep them dry in the wet boots. I heard if this from Haze outdoors.
Yup, always carry bags for this reason from day 1 👍 Didn't get it from Haze though, just common sense innit
