Guitar back to its rack, talking to its neighboring guitars:
"you just won't believe who played me moments ago!"
This is proof that the player is the most important part of the sound. Because that sounds like Malmsteen.
Do you think he will have that tone if he started with a $5 guitar? Decent guitar does help in shaping the technique and the tone in a guitar players' hands.
Fender weighs less than Les Paul
After Yngwie finished, the guitar had to go for a cigarette and a lie down.
Dude how is his picking hand movement so subtle 😮
The king of neoclassical shred. End of story
We talk about the violin influences, but Yngwie's tone can be so flute-like a lot of the time, really beautiful stuff...
Yngwie has perfect right hand technique. It's absolutely flawless.
He looks healthier than in years!
He can play on a tennis 🎾 racket and will still sound like Yngwie Malmsteen
Whether it is a Les Paul or Strat, it still sounds like Yngwie.
I wish he'd play a Les Paul more often. He sounds so damn good with it.
Me: ”You’re amazing dude”
Yngwie: ”I like to play”
flawlessly goes from harmonic minor to pentatonic at a thousand miles an hour, on a guitar he barely played. Incredible. The Jimi of the 80s.
Ummm, did anyone else, after putting this on loop and listening to it a hundred times, get kinda the same feeling when we first heard Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, and even Yngwie the first time? By that that I mean, you're hearing for the first time something that's going to change everything. Something totally new and awesome. I'm 55, played in popular bands, been following rock & roll forever, and this is a totally new sound. What we just heard has never been heard coming from a Les Paul before and it's straight up awesome. Yngwie, you could save rock & roll with this.
Omg, exactly 💯... extremely well said, holy smokes .... stay safe and God Bless you .... :)
Yes.
What's next? Yngwie test-drives a Lamborghini?! :-)
YEEEESSS TRY A LAMBORGHINI YNGWIE!!!
hahahahahaha
That's a good one.
Yngwie always been my favorite. His concert with the Japanese orchestra was simply outstanding. Such a talent.
Second to none IMHO.
This guitar was never the same again.
This proves once again that is not the size of the wand, it's the magic of the magician !!! 💯🤟🎸
It is amusing to watch how little his right hand moves. That's some economy picking right there.
You take me back to my teen years every time this grandma hears you play. Trilogy was my first of many albums I owned. Thank you sir!
Unfortunately I didn’t listen to him until later in life. But once I did I bought everything! I met him too. Super nice.
First time I saw Malmsteen in 1987 in MOntreal and saw him at least 10 times after that, this man is not human. He is definitely the King
I’ve literally sat here and listened to this short 10 times straight, AND I DON’T WANT TO STOP😳😧
They can pick on him all they want. Still a monster talent, player. 40 plus yrs with dimmed 100/ 50 watters on stage, no one like him.
That right hand of the definition of efficiency. Awesome
Such awesome feel ... we know he has the speed and technique ... but the colour and the feel. So awesome. I've shaken his hand. Yes, that's a brag / flex.
33 years later after hearing YJM for the first time his sound / technique and musicality still blows my mind. He also got me hooked on Baroque music, and very much appreciate the Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra in E Flat Minor Op: 1. I always knew that one day Yngwie would write and perform a magnificent Concerto work after hearing the Trilogy Suite Op:5 instrumental at 14yrs old. That is probably my favourite album of all time and holds great memories. "Thank you YJM".
The Maestro playing a Les Paul, sounds great. Can't wait to see him play live again, he always puts on a great show.
Yes, we need an Yngwie Les Paul. That was cool!
Happy to see Malmsteen playing at top level again, the creator and best neoclassical player of all time.
That's because he is the founder of the neoclassical genre. Yes there were players who had a few little classical inspired riffs going on but not on the scale Yngwie was doing, the swept arps, the picked runs, everything. Every other neoclassical player was inspired and influenced by this man. Eddie was a game changer, Yngwie came along and changed it again. No one like him or ever will be, just like Eddie :)
ONE'S OF THE BEST SOLO GUITARRIST IN THE WORLD👍👍👍
He is awesome! A truly inovator, God bless Yngwie
No one plays like this man, though many have tried. He goes from insane classical lines to screaming blues. Love or hate him, he is one of a kind and had a big impact on guitar culture, one of the biggest since the 80's.
Yngwie is looking great. The guitar is beautiful and valuable. The guitarist is priceless.
His picking hand is incredible!! Fascinating to watch the vast differences in playing styles/techniques from player to player..
I love that being an instrumentalist musician isn’t something you can bullshit. This guy is the REAL deal.
I’ve been saying this since 1984 the best person to ever put their hands on a guitar is this man right here!!!!💯🛠✊🍀☮️
so amazing....I love you Yngwie, you are my guiding light
Incredible guitar and player. Thts a match made in heaven.
That sounds absolutely incredible. Yngwie at his best!
Love Fender, love your Signature Fender, and my dream will come true once i can get my hands on one YJM Signature Fender Custom Shop. Saving every cent i can.
Now you can hear why Yngwie use Single Coil Pickups instead, but even so, he can Shred any guitar till the very limit, unbelivable.
This guy is a guitar God.
どんなギターでもイングヴェイはイングヴェイだね♪
素晴らしい!
What a special treat thank you
Proof it’s not the guitar - it’s the guitarist. 🤘🎸❤️
The tone of this Les Paul, is so smooth... like an old whisky. Very interesting to hear Malmsteen plaing this beautiful Guitar.
Makes the Les Paul sound the way he sounds. Incredible!
Thank you for all the videos you have been releasing Yngwie it been a pleasure to see and hear them.
Heavenly touch. Amazing player
You should play Les Pauls more often, there’s a subtle yet very different layer harmonic content happening there.
I highly, highly agree. I’ve always wanted to hear him rip a les Paul and if I can be quite honest, I would much prefer that sound over strats. He has that touch that can just really make a les Paul scream or sing.
Its almost as if the humbuckers can't react quick enough for his playing style.
In that I mean the extra harmonics the humbuckers and set-neck bring to the table seem to reduce the note definition Yngwie's playing style requires/demands. He sounds great either way, just saying there is no point with all that speed if it isn't well defined note to note.
Still a super treat to see him play a '59 Les Paul.
Well stated.
@@hkguitar1984 that's why almost every other guy with this level of control and speed plays an instrument with humbuckers.....
Yes, not as transparent as the Strat.
I absolutely do hear a difference & it's fantastic!
The new sound in Yngwie's palette for me, I like it.
He makes it look so effortless
I love the Sears Silvertone in the background. Great amp. Yngwie is really making that Les Paul sound great.
Every Guitar he plays is NICE ! and his abilities makes Every guitar Sound Nice ❤
Unmistakable - the fat sound of that LP shines through (as it better should with a '59 pricetag... 🤣) but Yngwie will always sound like Yngwie.
Keep going strong Maestro 🙏
Someone’s choosing favorites ❤
Love that smile at the end. He was like ..."yeah dayum right mate?"
True rockstar
Proof it's not the guitar...it still sounds like Yngwie
Shredder that actually pleases my ears
Les Paul catches fire!I SEE SMOKE!
Someone else brought it up but it’s worth repeating: Tone comes from the player not the equipment!
This is as different a setup as possible but it still sounds distinctively Yngwie.
He changed the tone and personality of that guitar completely
I could watch this video with the sound off and still enjoy it - his ultra efficient technique on both hands is mesmerising. It's like he's hardly playing.
Credit where Credit's due, Malmsteen still has it even after all these years.
Probably because your skill on guitar increases the longer you play and he’s been playing for a long time.......What did you expect?
Do you think you get to his age and just forget how to play?
Super nice, excellent, always you are awesome, thanks for all this years. 👌🎶👏👏👏
Really great to see yngwie looking healthy and playing well keep it up maestro 👏
Amazing as allways never saw you play anything other than your favorite fenders but its cool I play fender and Gibson it makes you sound different come up different sides of your playing I play very differently on a les pual then a fender Stat but when it time to shred I do on a fender you are the strongest playeri ever seen you stood the test of time godbless brother thank you for all the years of inspiration
Yngwie in great shape!
Hey this guy sounds just like yngwie malmsteen
Omg, hahahaaa... he does doesn't he... but yngwie would be doing diminished arpeggios in 32nd time.... hahaaa... :) God Bless
O som está na mão dele. Si for stratocaster, Gibson ou outra marca soará a mesma coisa ,pois o incrível som de yngwie malmsteen está nos dedos dele.
Ele é O TIMBRE né?!O cara é um ABSURDO!!
Grande Maestro!! you are guitar hero the best in the world !!
He plays into a Marshall Code... My amp 🤟
I have the one too and modded it to attach an external speaker cabinet. It‘s a great little amp.
Hearing Yngwie's melodies from a dual-coiled guitar, a vintage Les Paul. Now that's oddly beautiful..
I think the coolest part about this is how you can still definitely tell it is Yngwie playing even if you close your eyes- gear helps, but the best part of the sound comes from the player
malmsteen is awesome !!!
love his '59 Gibson!!
0:33 I heard that pick attack like it was played here in my living room.
Love Yngwies bluesy stuff.
The Swedish guitar king 🤘🏼🇸🇪
sounds great,Awesome job. I've never heard any Lespaul. sound so. Great 👍 👌 👍
I've never seen him play with a Gibson guitar before
Absolutely 💯
arguably the greatest vibrato in the history of the instrument.
The legend has his own style....has name....and we are so lucky to listen his melodies.....
Nice, Yngwie. 👏🏼👏🏼
King of guitar 🎸
He looks amazing
I'm impressed! to play like that is necessary hours and hours of intense training, I love his songs, and I have lot of them in my guitar hero game
You should use a LP in future often, you sound wonderful. I mean you are in your best age right now much more to come before you get old
Always impressive. Greatest Neo-Classical artist of the last century.
A Gibby LesPaul and a Mesa Boogie to me is one of the greatest combinations for tone!
For me, its a Gibby Les Paul and a Marshall Plexi / Tubescreamer. I do love dual rectifier boogies though !
Longer videos please!!!! We appreciate this content!! THX Brother!
OMG The 👑 with Les Paul 🤘
man..I love your way of "treating" the guitar, the sound..another proof that the tone in your hands, whatever guitar you play you sound "like you" .thank you for this video and "dusts" for a long time around the world. greetings from Serbia
1959 plugged on a Marshall Code insane tone, fuck haters!!
This may actually be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. 🙌
Love that the great YM, a guitar virtuoso, has KISS memorabilia on the wall! - a fellow KISS fan.
Notice how relaxed his hands are. Thats the key to shredding. ❤
Fantastic! Thank you also for leaving comments enabled ✌🏻
This man is not a legend because he plays fast, he´s a legend because he plays very nice and has his own sound, and after all these years on a guitar completely different he still keeps his sound and perfomance, he is not a fast player, he is a brilliantly fast player
