My bad turns out we did get a mark 6 please tell people commenting about to look at the pinned, Thanks for telling me all! :D what do you guys this of this iron monger set tho?
i feel like people still have failed to realize that the "new" helmet mold that they used wasnt new at all even for ironman, they used it in a mighty micros and have been using it on other characters. the head single mold head piece was there because it matched the suit design of the avengers game that was meant to release at the time of the set that used the mold.
@@grantlynn1659 no they only used it for rescue, and 2 of tonys suits which arent rlly based of mcu, tazer and hot rod, also there isnt any avengers endgame iron man suits with that mold its the avengers game minifig
@@grantlynn1659 although the rescue armour one doesn’t fit with the argument of “it doesn’t open” since one, the MCU one would not look good, two it doesn’t matter since that mask doesn’t open anyway.
My favorite part of the iron monger scene is when it opens up and you can see the operator’s upper half controlling it with his arms is what they really missed on the lego model where now it’s just at control panel
First thing i noticed when building this set was the scale. Its even more obvious when placed next to one of the hulkbuster sets. Lego missed an opportunity imo, but the mech as a mech is pretty cool
I feel like the upcoming What If "Captain Carter & The Hydra Stomper" set would have worked better as a basis for the Iron Monger. It still seems to have the visible Minifig issue, but it seems more accurate scale-wise. Of course, it's probably still not gonna be very articulated.
Lego has sort of made a rod for their own back by making the Harry Potter sets so good! They appeal to both kids, teens, and adults whilst remaining at a good price point. Lego Star Wars and Lego Marvel need to follow suit. The Benetar was an example of a Marvel set done well for all age groups.
TommyCBricks, I thought we already had the Iron Man Mark 6 because in the Avengers wave of sets from 2012, the set Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape has an iron Man that looks similar to the Mask 6 with many believing it to be the Mark 6...
7:45 now you mention it, that would be a pretty cool moc idea. I might buy a second £10 mech , then mod it slightly using grey bricks and pieces from this, add the helmet, and see if it works well. It should be good.
i think i actually quite like the 1 part helmet in terms of it fitting in with the simplicity of legos aesthetic, i always feel like the two part helmet is staring into my soul
It seems like a way to cut costs and be less accurate. The two piece helmet is definitely better. The one piece helmet looks wrong to me in every set I’ve seen and own.
@@bruced09 Not all of Iron man helmets opened you realize that was for the mcu movies and was later used in the following cartoons. @@TheOmegazerox yeah problem is that helmet doesn’t really look like those ever did. You can like it, but it doesn’t look good to a majority of people, and it doesn’t look like any helmet I’ve ever seen, before or after the MCU
I’m still getting it, but the concept you provided for using a smaller mech base and just beefing it up with a car side build sound SO much cooler than what we got. The first Iron Man film is still my favorite MCU film to this day, and seeing it get this sort of mixed treatment from LEGO is both upsetting and exciting.
To be fair, making Lego is expensive, and it’s hard to make the knees move with iron monger being so detailed. I feel like it’s not a waist of money, it’s just they could have done it a bit better.
I think this set is pretty neat, besides the size I actually really like this. But being mech heavy doesn't bother me cause I feel like a new mech gives me a image that Tony made a new one or something so I can put with my iron man collection. But I will probably keep it until someone can make a more accurate size moc then I will fix it but for now day 1 purchase for me. :) Also I'm 19 seeing a glow in the dark feature in this set blows me away I think they are really cool. 👀 but love the vid!
My favorite part is the gun metal grey for mocs. A smaller size at a $15-$20 range would have been better seeing as many fans have already made a better scale using the mk1 helmet.
The only thing I don't like about this set is that the main build is WAY oversized , I wished they would've scaled it down and may like a car or van to go with it to make it look more accurate. I mean what is with lego with making mechs that are way oversized?
Ooof, that head piece being visible, and especially the bit that pops off if you aren't delicate with opening it would definitely bug me. It does look like it could be a nice starting point for modifications. As ever, your critical eye is much appreciated. :) cheers
Yeah. But for some reason they never do that. They didn't with daredevil, blade or punisher. Ghost rider too. And probably more. Even tho they looked perfectly fine. Maybe except ghost rider. And the official punisher is better.
i just turned mine into a rhino mech. it wasn't based off of the amazing spiderman 2, i just messed around with pieces, and saw it looked like something rhino would pilot. it's honestly not worth keeping as a iron monger build.
I think maybe the other reason the iron monger is oversized is because other large iron man mechs are also oversized, so they sort of didn't want to break the "continuity", since the upcoming "What If" Sakaar Iron man is roughly similar in size too. And the one bigger mech that isn't oversized, the Igor suit, looks terrible. Still wish the head was smaller compared to the body.
1:28 I think Pepper Potts' Minifig is based off the first scene we see her in Iron Man 1. But I wish her minifig was based off her look in the Iron Monger Fight Scene, while I do wish the Iron Man Mark 3 Armor was battle damaged like how it was during the Final Battle. So I do agree with you on Pepper's Minifig, as well as having a problem with the Iron Man Mark 3 Armor.
I might get this set so I have a OK set to build while camping (also will mean I get lego suits) and I can get a opening lego helmet as my grandma I dont see any more has my old helmet like that)
I'm just hoping they do a mini war machine mech in the mini mech series so we can make a smaller version heck all they needed to do was put the helmet on a recoloured iron man mech and the big build could have been the reactor
It would be a fantastic idea to put this and more Iron Man minifigures in a new and more ideal Malibu Mansion with older versions of their armor with upgraded minifigures

I haven't done this because I don't have any of these sets, but if you want to make a better Iron Monger armor then I recommend buying the Thor mech armor (because it has some similar colors) AND the originial Iron Monger set and kinda merge them together to make a more minifig scale version. I think this would make a more accurate Iron monger suit. Again, I haven't done this cuz I don't have either of the sets.
I have an iron monger action figure and it's the size as the the Lego so I think it's a perfect size yes or do say they could have done the mech better by using the war machine mech adding new parts keeping the mask. And the arms also i have the infinity war hulk buster and I found a way to make it articulate so this won't be a problem to do for me if I buy this set and the war machine buster set I can send a pic your way on what it would look like with a better mold
