- Learn how to crochet a Corner to Corner Granny RECTANGLE with me! In this video I show you step by step how to crochet the C2C Granny Rectangle (how to increase, maintain the rectangular shape and decrease your corner to corner granny rectangle) AND how to crochet a border 😀 C2C Granny Rectangles have a tendency to flare and not sit squarely HOWEVER a tiny tweak to the traditional method solves this issue and I will show you how to make beautifully straight rectangles 😅If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...

🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

You are the first person who has explained c2c in a way that makes perfect sense!. I admire your tension as well! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills with us.
You are so welcome MaryAnn! 🤗🥰
I know you hear this all the time but you are an EXCELLENT teacher!! And your channel is PERFECT the way it is!!
I gave up on C2C bc it was very confusing, but I found one of your older videos and now I'm great at. Thank you for being the only channel I need for learning crochet stuff💜....
🥰
Robin, I've got to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I dont know why, but my brain doesn't like to comprehend rectangle anything when it comes to crochet. It took me forever to find a decent rectangle granny, so I thought it was decent until I found yours!! The one I was using always had big ole holes in the beginning because my yarn was stretching. Well, your tutorial doesn't make the yarn stretch!😊 I've always ended up making square granny c2c because I could never understand how to do the rectangle. As I said, my brain doesn't comprehend crochet rectangles for some reason. I'm going to have to watch this tutorial a few times, but I know I'll finally "get it". Thank you so much Robin, you're greatly appreciated❤🤗
Awwwh Michelle, I just read your comment and wanted to say you are so welcome. I am so glad my video helped and I appreciate you all being here too.🤗🥰🧶
Love this! Thank you for sharing. I just finished your c2c square. It was several squares and sewn together and bordered for my new great grandson!! A new Great granddaughter is due in November so this would be fun to make for her!! I am 73 and love your crochet projects!!
Thank you so much Betty! 🥰🧶
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BLUE! ALSO LOVE C2C! HELLO MY FRIENDS BLUE AND STEVE ❤️
I just finished a 2x3 metre sized blanket made with chunky wool and a 12mm hook with only this video as instruction. I cannot express how STUNNING it is.... Now to apply a border 😅. Thank you xxx
Amazing Lisa!😃 Do you know what border you want to put on it?x
@@HookedbyRobin I've just completed a row of hdc around the whole thing. Am now wondering what to do next. I want a simple modern look without too much frill. Was thinking of just going on with two more rounds of hdc. What do you think?
@Lisa Clare sounds perfect! That's pretty much what I did for mine too (I did dc's) - plain and simple every time!
@Hooked by Robin It's such a thrill to get real-time input from the master herself 😊. I'll tag the final product on Insta if case you'd like to see. Thanks a million!!!
Thank you, I’d love to see!😃
Love the way you explain. Very easy to understand. Thank you so much ❤️
I wanted to finish my stuff. Alas my 15 year old grandaughter, saw some yarn in my sewing room,Flowers Alpaca . You have come to my rescue again !!!The granny cluster c2c will work up quickly, you know what teens are like, she would like it by the weekend. Thank you again
You're welcome Pat and I am sure you will get it done.😀🧶
Thank you for this tutorial, Robin. I like how you're increasing using the extended double crochet stitch. Your corner to corner tutorial is clear and easy to understand and although I've dabbled in C2C in the past, the results weren't very pretty! 😏 I feel confident that your method will give me much better results. I can't wait to try out this rectangle, as well as the square. I always succeed using your tutorials and appreciate how patient and thorough you are with your examples and explanations! Thank you again, from Phoenix, Arizona! 🌵🌄🏜️
Fantastic instructor. You make the whole thing so simple. I always stay away from corner to corner but now that I see your instructions I feel confident to try it.
That makes me so happy to read Carol, you can definitely do this!😃🥰
You schooled me again. I love this one so much and can listen to your voice and watch those amazing nails all the time! Thank You
Awwwh! Thank you Rebecca.🥰 x
I'm proud to say that I figured out how to do this with the first video. I'm working on my 8rh granny c2c afghan now as we speak. So very happy to have this pattern. Works up so fast!
😀🙌
Thank you so much for pointing me to this pattern. You answer questions so promptly. Your extended DC is perfect!
You’re welcome Linda, enjoy your crochet!😃🧶
Im loving learning the C2C method. This was a great tutorial.😊
Thank you so much!😃🧶
So glad I found this video. I had started a rectangle to be a pocket shawl, using a different square diagonal blanket pattern to learn how to do it on the diagonal. I was confusing myself how to make it rectangle, searched and found this video. Turns out I did know to inc one side while Dec the other. I decided to start over because the extended dc makes the sides look so so much better. Thank you!,
Ah, I am glad it helps.😀 Your shawl will be lovely!

Thanks for the tip on using the extended double crochet for a better finish on the edge. As it is winter here in Australia I’m going to use the stitch to make some scarves.
Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial. I've made several "traditional" corner to corner afghans. I was THRILLED to see a different take on c2c. Thank you again!
You are so welcome Kim, glad it helped! 😀 x
Finally I understand how to do this. Thank you so much
You are so welcome Bernadette! 🤗🧶
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Your instructions are great. I’ve never tried a c2c blanket because I couldn’t understand it. But your demo is very clear and I get the concept of how to do this now. Thank you again. 💜

🌷🌷You are an Excellent teacher. This is my very first C2C & I'm making a rectangular shawl. Beautiful pattern. (It's like remembering a riddle: Start what you end with - but do not end with what you start with. I tell myself this, it helps me remember.😃💜)
Thank you so much Irene! 😀🧶
Excellent Robin, now I can do all three C2C versions ❣️🧁🧁🧁 👍👍👍
Yay! Thank you so much Della.😀🧶

I crochet a lot of scarves for a local charity and having varying patterns is a huge help. This one is Caron's Cinnamon Swirl Cakes in Springtime is looking absolutely mah-ve-lous! You make this so clear!
Thank you so much! 😀
Woman! You are just THE BEST teacher!!! I came across C2C and youtube shows me 6 other options. Nope. Couldn't even get close. I told youtube to show me what Hooked By Robin had to say, and with very little frustration, it totally clicked! Thank you SOOO much! I basically think of you as who taught me how to crochet.
Now, looking at the shape this makes before I start closing it up (not sure how to say it) it looks like a perfect front panel for one side of a V-neck top... could I make 2 of these at the low point and connect them to make the front of a V-neck top?🤔🧐🤓💜💜💜
Awwh, thank you so much Rose!😀🥰
Did you try the V-neck top idea?x
@@HookedbyRobin i haven't yet, but do you think it would work, or, I guess I should say. If it comes out as the right size shape and size of a shirt pannel, can you think of any reason why it wouldn't work?
As a similar kind of question, as my baby blanket is growing, it dawns on me that this is a lovely triangle (I haven't started decreasing yet) and my mind wonders, could I make a triangle shawl this way as well? Or is there something I am not seeing about why that wouldn't work right?🤔🧐🤓💜💜💜
Thank you Robin for this easy tutorial . I am going to do this as I have the right yarn for it.
You are welcome Yvonne! 🤗🧶
I really like this new method and will definetvariations. Fun to try new variations.
Yay! 😃🧶
Oh boy, I will be reverse crocheting! I knew it didn’t look right but not sure what I missed. I’ll report back when I get either get it sorted out or need more guidance. Love the way you teach!
