I have her picture hanging behind my chair & one in front above the tv so it's like she's watching me, when I get stumped I talk to her picture and ask how to do it or something silly like that... I originally started with single crochet graphgans and had made a lot of them. Recently, I found myself interested in branching out to c2c graphgans and found your tutorial immensely helpful! Thank you very much! Tho I must add that for people like me who have a hard time trusting the magic knot hahaha due to the fear that it may come loose, I highly suggest the russian join which also eliminates any knots and makes it appear very seamless while ensuring a very secure bond between two yarns.

I'm making my first c2c blanket, and I picked easy design with 3 colours only. What really helped me is a printed graph. Each new row I count and write squares, once that row is finished I just don't each square and cross the previous row numbers. I tried writing each row from the graph but that was just too much.
Some good tips I'm going to implement! I came here looking for tips on carrying a color with another, it's showing up on the other side looking not great but it seems I cannot with a blanket. I have several spots that are 1 square spots and didn't want to weave in all those ends lol
I had that issue too, it's a pain, but I found two solutions: First was, create a brand new bobbin, even if it Is just for one square, it's annoying but it works... and Second: leave it and at the end when you have finished, sew over the lines, if that makes sense. The little lines that you can see from when you carry over colours. I sew over them with the same colour and you can't see them. These methods are very inconvenient but they work if you are willing to put the extra effort in. I haven't found any other affective way to do it.

Hi.... Me again with my tip..... Try watching other videos of C2C.... Many are changing color on the last double crochet stitch ( holding last 2 loops and complete the stitch with the new color, this should help with the spike that you have mentioned... Hope I have helped

I found this vid really useful. I’ve just started a C2C blanket. My first ever and it seems I have done the same as you for cutting lengths of yarn and marking the squares off. I haven’t been doing the joins though and have a ton of ends or getting annoyed that one more block is needed in the colour I’ve cut to short. I love your join idea and will do that. I have been changing colours as you suggest from the back but I still seems to have messy areas of the change over. Why do I get two diagonal squares touching nice and neat but another time it looks as if a block is between them. I haven’t figured out what causes this to happen. Any tips would be welcome. I like to keep all the tails on the back side if possible . And yes the slip stitch looks best if the right side is facing you 👍🏻👍🏻💕 There isn’t a right or wrong with either so I would play with both and see what works best for you. 🙂

Just one question though: when you cut lengths of yarn, how many tiles do you cut for ie just the amount that are up and coming on that particular row or for a couple of rows? I’m so glad you found it helpful . 💕 I have to admit , I just sort of wing it with the lengths of yarn. I would recommend you do what amount feels comfortable for you to work on. You might want to take a moment to do a few blocks , pull it apart to see/measure how much yarn was used. Then you can go from there on guesstimating how much you’ll need or want to work with. Hope that helps 💕
If it’s two loose ends then you can tie them together and that will help . Just don’t double knot in case you need to redo that segment . If it’s just loose as you’re switching back and forth, it really just takes practice. You’ll notice I continually pull on it to help with the tension until I’ve completed a couple of blocks /squares . 🧶💕

Hi Terry - the first place I’d try is a free website called stitch fiddle. They have a calculator in there and you might be able to use that to help resize. Especially if you have an image without graph lines on it ... you could upload it in there . I have a video where I demonstrate making a graph in stitch fiddle. I realize you are only trying to resize your image but the video might help you see how to navigate the site . That’s right , you would start decreasing on the 26 th row. Only 1 chain for turning is common if you are working with sc. But I’m not sure what you are asking regarding doubling sc’s to 24 . Can you elaborate please ... I don’t want to give you bad advice .
On a 25x25 graph it will be small. Another crocher on utube doubles it: 25x2=50 +2. In other words each square equals 2 stitches. The 2 stitches are for turning. Thank u
I used procreate to make this one (found a graph and then placed it with a drawing I made) . But I often use stitch fiddle - there’s a free version and you can import art in there and it creates a graph for you.
You can find a graph on my Instagram account (message me there if you can’t find it). I made this just to show how to C2C so there isn’t a full pattern for this.
It sounds like you might actually increase by accident at times , which screws it up when you continue with this next row and try to decrease. It’s an easy mistake to make , it has has happened to me too. Since you are working each row incrementally, you can go back and make sure boxes are in chronological order in each row. You might be able to catch it that way. Hope that helps 💕

I designed it myself on the iPad using procreate but there is a program called stitch fiddle that I’ve used before as well that works great. There is free version you can try.

I came to the comments to look for this. ILOVE using procreate for crochet.
So when doing a right hand graft and you're left hand, would the even numbers be the right side.
Gosh , I’m really not sure on that. I would recommend working up a square and seeing if it does.

So far yes but I really enjoy tapestry crochet /intarsia so I may try something with that soon 💕
How do you get it to be a rectangle?
You stop increasing on one side once you’ve reached the width you want your rectangle to be. Hm , maybe I should do a video

For pattern
I designed it myself on the iPad using procreate but there is a program called stitch fiddle that I’ve used before as well that works great. There is free version you can try.

I have no problem to understand English, but when I write in English I become unsure of all the grammar. since I started crocheting for a few years ago I have only learned crochet terms in English, Swedish I am completely off 🙃😂
