Stephen Power thanks! Yes that is a good idea. I briefly touch on the subject on this video at the beginning but it is quite brief. Thanks for watching ruclips.net/video/c4xdqURi4as/видео.html
Evan Stoker the wiring was completed by others but 2nd fix of the three separate systems, new panels, programming and commissioning took 4 days in total
Mandy Lightfoot they are set up like normal emergency lights to have a test switch facility. The link to the fire panel is additional but when you dobyour weekly testing, you can if you wish do checks on the emergency lighting too
If they are self contained fittings such as bulkheads - no. In fact I would argue that is worse because the mains might not be interupted so the emergency lighting would not switch to battery. For central systems where you have a central bank of batteries and control gear, yes the cabling needs to be fire rated.
MS Electrics the Aico Ei414 is a relatively new bit of kit and has great flexibility. You can interface it with a variety of external equipment. It's great for blocks of flats where you have a communal system and want to link the flat detection.
MS Electrics strictly speaking it is for residential because the equipment won't meet the relevant standards to satisfy BS5839-1. But they meet standards for BS5839-6. They can be useful for various systems but should be designed by somebody who understand the pros and cons. In this system they are in flats but interface with the commercial fire panel
Ben Wyatt yes it can but there are considerations to make such as the zoning. You shouldn't have more than one zone on a radial. In theory the zones on conventional should already be like that. It also depends what system you use. Apollo devices are fine but you need to make sure you have short circuit isolators between zones. We use din rail isolators mounted in an enclosure. Some systems you can't have addressable radials.
i'm going for 2394 2395 course soon what you can advise me this is my A CERTIFICATE I HAVE GOT NVQ L3 DIPLOMA INSTALLING ELCTROTECHNICAL SYSTEM AND EQUIPMENT(BSE)
hey i'm ali electrician about 3 years now happy to contacting you for first time to tell you that i'm really benefiting from you
Great video. Could you do a videos explaining and showing example of different grade/categories fire alarm systems. Keep the good work up.

Great vid Dan 👍
S D Security - Luke thanks mate
How long did this system take to complete? Great video by the way

Very helpful videos. Would there still be a fish key switch or are these emergency lights only testable from the panel?

Where to connect the emergency lighting in the fire panel ?
What kind of callpoint is that in the intro?
Apollo XP95 sir
@@DanstheEngineer Thanks
Can you make videos on how to repair false alarms on the loops
Morning Dan. Do the updated regs require the emergency lighting to be connected using fire-rated cable ?

First comment and like, great vid!
Sylvelegend thanks!
Nobody cares
ElevatorExplorer 1 that I was first or that I said the vid was great? bcos it is

Did not know you can do that to an aico

Dans the Engineer oh ok I fault the aico was for residential only

Am I the only person who thinks that 'lite-4-life' sounds like a charity?
Ha! I will tell the owner when I next see him!
Can an addressable system be installed on existing conventional wiring? So replace devices but not have them wired as a loop?
