So many people talk trash about my cheap HF ratcheting wrenches but ive hammered on all of them for years and ive only had 2 fail and they were a left outside in the weather through a wet pnw winter

Yeah I always had low expectations for them. Never broken one myself. Only ever had to replace them from losing them.

This is a great idea and upgrade, I should do this on my 05 6.0! I think ahaha classic on the runaway truck!

It’s something to consider if you need to replace yours anyway. It was only $200 and made a big difference

So you can go to o rileys and buy a starter for a 2003 to 2007 6.0 and they have updated the starter bolts right up no issues cranks as fast as a 6.7 starter also if you throw a washer on the 6.7 starter bottom bolt just grab a bolt that is the same thread as the upper 2 starter bolts no drilling no problems

The 6.4 is a better option honestly I don’t remember if you have to do any modifications I don’t think you do I put one on a 6.7 without any mods and it turns it over better than the original starter the 6.4 starter is still winding down after the motor has been started it turns over that fast

Yes. But the 6.4 starter is harder to find and most of the time costs more

I have a 2003 6.0 king ranch I’d like to do this upgrade. I’ve already replaced the starter once when the original went out at like 200k maybe alittle more how long is the bolt you used for the hole you tapped out and what was size washer?

I don’t own a 6.0 hell I don’t even own a ford but I still found this interesting and neat. If I ever buy a 6.0 I’ll be sure to do this haha

i get the point but none of this sounded like a slow enough crank to cause trouble in the first place

It was unfortunately a bad example because it was not really cold. When it gets down to -20 the oil is so thick and the batteries are weak so it hardly tuned over with the old starter. I wish I had video of it. It’s been amazing since tho.

Anyone done the 6.4, 6.7 starter on 03-6.0, manual trans? Read the bolt kit won't work.

That’s exactly what this is. It’s an 03 with manual transmission

You know I have watched two of your videos so far. In the first one I watched you dropped your 3208 Cat. In the second video I watched you started your truck in gear. You are not inspiring confidence.
