    @5:47 how about wording it this way, to be fair with your assessment, you bought a mechanically troubled 6.0 because you failed to do an inspection on it, instead of owning up to it and stating that first, you then say do not buy a 6.0 if you're looking for reliable trucks, that's absolute speaking, because many of here have also seen reliable 6.0 and well built bulletproofed 6.0, so there you're showing bias which is fair but you have to put in content that you messed up, you work on diesel truck and purchased a trouble truck. then come on line saying 6.0's ssucks lol, it's like going out to buy an m5 e60, if you don't know the ends and of that s85 engine and that smg transmission, and don't know how to inspect it, you have no business messing with that vehicle, I.E. if you can't afford to inspect a 6.0 correctly or bulletproof it to full spec reliability and you scared, leave it alone because most are not tryna hear that, it's 2023 that truck platform came out in 2004 19yrs, no excuses

    Great video!! We have about 20 older full size school buses...about 8 left with the old 7.3 (T444E) and 12 with the "6.0" VT365...the 6.0 ones have had about 1/2 blown up needing towed to international for a reman engine.... not one of the 7.3s diesels have ever needed towed in and they are all over 200,000 miles with 12,000+ hours.... now my little school just got five 7.3 gas bluebirds and one blew up at only 11,000 miles and these new gas ones are always having emissions failures..
    Nothing will every again be as good as the old T444E...we have some that are 23 years old and still run like new and have never laid down...

    230k on my 6.0, have loved it. Been my daily and driven the hell out of it, you just have to maintain it. Use the best oil possible, change it often, OEM filters for both fuel and oil, and etc. It's unfortunate people give it such a bad wrap, they're great in the right hands.

    something is wrong with your 6.0 then lol because 6.0 is a lot louder than any 7.3. you can hear the 6.0 powerstroke from a few miles away. the sound from a 7.3 doesn’t travel as far because its not as loud. and a 6.0 is known as the best sounding diesel made in the truck scene, not everyone will agree but it’s a very popular opinion. you’re obviously the smaller portion of the population that doesn’t like the sound or the truck in general. mine has 389k miles on original motor and trans, never skips a beat and she’s beautiful, best looking body ford made(05-07).

    I love all 3 engines for all different reasons. 6.0 has my pick, still “old” enough to build / work on it yourself without a billion different electronics hooked up to everything. And that un filtered raw sound / power is a thing I’d never get enough of.

    I have never heard a 6.7 be louder than a 6.0 tf💀 closest I’ve heard is when they’re non vgt but even then 6.0 is still louder lolo let alone a 7.3 being louder than a 6.0? Unless you’ve got massive exhaust leaks the 7.3s exhaust should not be anywhere near as loud as a 6.0
    Also how are you going to dog on a cheap “budget” 6.0 truck? It’s going to have problems😂 want a 6.0 without problems you’re gonna being paying more for it

    a 6.0 needs a 4 inch pipe not a 5 inch a 4 inch is way louder then a 5 inch on a 6.0 and a 10 inch tip makes it 10 times louder soo if you want a loud 6.0 put a 4 inch with a 10 inch tip

  • @edwardman1742
    @edwardman1742 10 месяцев назад +3

    The 6.0 you purchased has not had the benefit of the strong start your 7.3 (which your dad owned) and 6.7 (much newer and well cared for). Mileage is less important than consistent use. Your 6.0 had been sitting for two years. That will damage an almost 20 year old engine, which is what you’re seeing with all the leaks, etc. And you know little if it’s history. Then, to make matters worse, you throw performance parts at it. The 5in exhaust “upgrade” was a waste, lol. This makes for good content, though, so for that, I applaud you.
    I tow my 11k+ 40 foot trailer and my entire family across the country with my 6.0 and never worry about it at all. Smooth, powerful, reliable.

    i personally own a 6.0, however I rebuilt and bulletproofed my truck, i never recommend beating on a stock 6.0 as you mentioned before, but when they're done right they can an absolute unit of a diesel. If we still lived somewhat near each other i would absolutely let you take her out for a spin to see the difference. For me I've had nothing but good luck with my truck, but with 6.0's its always 50/50 as they starting breaking things in the 180-250k band

      This guy sadly just bought the cheapest 6.0 he could find and expected it to be reliable after everything hes done (tuning, delete, etc) this truck isnt studded it wont be reliable and yes you are correct 180-250k is when problems start but this man just thinks that these older trucks are gonna run and be as reliable as these newer trucks which they wont, Fords learned over the years of having these motors that some things need to be changed to make these diesels reliable motors.

      Only thing about this guy almost opinions biased. Like example race 6.0 an 6.7 don't tell the horsepower difference between trucks. An the 6.0 b bought had whole bunch of problems he didn't fix but he's doing another mods on and still racing it boost leaks other issues. The perfect example here is not complain about the 6.7 cuz it's only got 10000 miles. I got a 6.0 it's my daily driver and I'll take that any day week.

    The fact is the 6.0 does need the reliability mods, and you need to run it at near stock power to achieve that reliability. It's a cruel joke because it's so easy for that truck to stuff the seat cushions in your crack. I'm not with you on the sound though bro. Nothing sounds better than a 6.0

    I also have an 04 6.0 and a 15 6.7. My 6.0 is my daily. It is bulletproofed and has low miles 120k. I tow regularly in the mountains with it, and am not nice to it driving. I monitor it and watch the temps, and use only synthetic oil and factory filters. The truck is dead reliable! The 6.7 has only 35k miles, is much quieter, faster, and is also very reliable. Both trucks are tuned, 6.7 weight reduced. They both have their purposes...... Really heavy towing, i'd take the 6.7.... Noise and lots of it, I'd take the 6.0!

    Dude the 7.3 an 6.0 are miles apart. The 6.0 sounds way better, embrace the Chewbacca. They had their problems but mist was cause of ford pushing international to make a better motor. Originally the 6.0 was to release with 188 hp and only like 375 torq, and that was with the emissions shit getting forced on them, then ford said turn up the power and it wasn't engineered for the power and the shit the epa did. Bulletproofing is a wide category across the board, the term came from bulletproof diesel that sold the original kit. It really doesn't need anything besides the upgraded oil cooler if you aren't building power. The biggest downfall of the 6.0 is the introduction of new tunes that wernt a chip with a spin dial. The custom shit from said company and said company that pushed even more power on a setup that pushed almost double power from design killed them and gave them the name of the 6blow, the 6slow, the 6leaker, and wrote the headgaskets into history.

    6.0s are the best in my opinion ive owned 3 of them if u go the cheap route on a 6.0 (like you did.) youll have more work to do. If its not studded i wouldnt even recommend tuning it, just not worth it. ive had a 6.0 that didnt sound like a 6.0 at all and ive had ones that sound like the videos you see on youtube, if the work done to the 6.0 aint right it aint gonna run/sound right. "Bulletproofing" a 6.0 doesnt make it reliable if u beat the shit outve the truck it isnt gonna last as long. You have to actually TAKE CARE OF THE TRUCK. Also to add since you said 6.0s are unreliable ive put 327k miles on my truck and it still runs like a top, its the owners and the work thats done to them that makes them bad, If you dont take care of the truck the truck wont take care of you. My current 6.0 is my work truck i pull 1-3 tons multiple times daily its never let me down..
