I was pretty sure that many Russian RG ladies would simply compete for other nations that are allowed into the championships/Olympics. I’m actually happy for most of those countries, because they get to benefit, as nations, from a bad situation in a VERY awesome sport.👍🏿 As far as the Russian girl that represents Lithuania, first, I MUST say she is VERY beautiful. One of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen (though, most athletes look very different without makeup). Still, I think she should’ve just given up her Russian passport. She could always get it back later, and, if a country is willing to pay the costs of their representative, they have the right to make the rules. Given the LEGITIMATE threat Russia poses to Lithuania, it’s just a bad look for them to be paying for a Russian athlete to compete, even if that Russian athlete represents Lithuania. I don’t know why this would be hard for an intelligent athlete to understand.🤷🏾♂️ Most of the people likely to comment on this dustup are quite young, and have no memory of the fear that gripped Europe for the entire Cold War. They use that term to mean ANY war where the bullets aren’t flying. For those of us who remember, from this side of the wall, it was VERY different. Hell, most don’t even know that their once WAS a wall separating the entirety of Europe. A wall to which no one on this side added one brick. A barrier that changed the very WILDLIFE in many parts of Europe. That fear is still with our leaders, and many of their constituents, today. The wall is gone, but it left a psychic scar on places like Lithuania.💯 Perhaps, I’m wrong to expect her to understand…🤔
It doesn't really matter where the tournament is held but which participants are allowed to compete. We see two separate RG patterns here Russia + Belarus vs the entire world similar to cold war era. This is very unhealthy for the sport and it will last for at least 2 more years.
Thank you for the video in English
Thanks for the updates!
