#11 - put up a tent in front of a store downtown.
Oh its " cleaned up " now 🙄
I'm visiting Oregon in early June. I live in Ohio which is a long ways away. My aunt and uncle live in Oregon so we got an airbnb to stay at for a couple days. I needed to watch this video to get ideas on what to do when I visit there. I'm pretty excited!
Not all the comments hating on the way you say Oregon 😂like it's not that serious
That’s great, I hope you have a great trip - Oregon is a beautiful state with lots to see and do! And I appreciate what you said about my pronunciation lol, I’m from Michigan so I wasn’t as familiar with the right way to say it
Have a blast !
This is the best tour guide for me to know Portland after I browsed several channels. Thank you so much 🌹🎉🎊
Thanks so much, I’m glad you found my guide helpful!
Thank you for share this beautiful places. Your editing is very amazing. Thank you for the great scenes.
Thanks so much for the comment, I really appreciate it!
Great video, however being from here the only real distraction was your mispronunciation of Oregon “Or-e-gun”. Thanks for sharing our beautiful city.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! My apologies about the mispronunciation - growing up in the midwest, that's how I always heard the state pronounced. Portland is certainly a beautiful and wonderful city
@@WanderlustWellman Hi, I'm another Portlander and while the Or-e-gone pronunciation also drove me crazy, this is a really good video! I think you really highlighted a lot of what this area has to offer and I'm glad you had a good time here. You're welcome back any time and next time you'll know how to say Oregon. Cheers!
@@aaronyoung8836 My bad on the pronunciation, I promise you that I've been alerted many times on my mispronunciation of your state since my videos have been posted haha! I'm glad you liked the video, I was blown away by Portland and was so excited to share my favorite things I experienced there. Looking forward to coming back soon!
Every video I've looked up on oregon someone is bitching about someone not pronouncing something correctly
@@WanderlustWellman You all got it wrong, it's Porkland, Whoregone... land of fat perjuring and racketeering pigs in a state where all the moral prostitutes have gone to work for the parasite state.. Watch out for badged road pirates London Westerlund and Eric Thorsen.. They'll state-rape you, and they'll state-rob you.. zero conscience, psychotic tendencies, and the amazing ability to bold-faced lie in court.
Nice content. Enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Great recommendations and great content! Thanks for visiting our city. I will definitely need to check out Kate's ice cream cuz i've never heard of that spot actually, next time you're in town you gotta try the amazing custard based ice cream of Fifty Licks. So good!
Thanks so much, I appreciate your comment! And I'll look into Fifty Licks!
we're staying in Portland in a couple of weeks and looking forward to the nature hikes, beach locations and Portland itself and the great food, coffee and brewery/beer spots!
You should definitely be excited, don't mind all the comments hating on Portland lol. It definitely has its issues, but the food/nature you can experience in Portland is WORLD CLASS (in my opinion). Have an amazing trip!
My vote would be for 1-10 leaving Portland...
Thanks for you recomending travel guide
Thanks for watching!
Nice and beautiful captions amazing video thanks for sharing 👌
Thanks so much!
By all means come to Oregon, there is so much to do here. But being #2 in the US for car theft and having a 50/50 chance of getting your car window smashed, staying in downtown Portland is not a good idea. There are lots of nice places to stay just outside the city limits.
Hi, great video, there are lots of nice activities there. Very good. Thanks. Greetings Alex
Thanks a lot, I agree! Greetings to you, Alex
Great video! We are heading there in late October.
That's awesome, the weather should be great in October I imagine. I hope you have a great trip, thanks for watching!
I’m local here. Love the list.
Thanks so much, I'm happy to hear that!
Thanks!
No problem! 😁
11. Leave
1. You did a great job capturing the top 10 must sees in Portland
2. Don't call me Shirley
Great video! What date did you go to the rose garden? It was in full bloom, amazing!!
Thanks so much! We went in August last year actually, it was brutally hot
Great video! My fiancé and I are planning a trip in late April so we’ll keep this video and your recommendations handy! Thanks!
How exciting, I hope you have a great trip with your fiancé! Thanks for watching 😄
I might go to Portland for spring break as I’ve always wanted to visit the Pacific Northwest.
Highly recommend it! It's probably my favorite area of the country
@@WanderlustWellman I might visit in May at the very latest before the thicket of the tourist season during the summertime. I had always wanted to visit the International Test Rose Garden.
@@WanderlustWellman You can't be serious or you have never been anywhere else. I was just there. It's a crime ridden toilet. You really need to get out more.
"Ora.. gone"??? 🧐how dare you sir 😂
I am planning to leave the Portland area soon, so trying to get some ideas of things to do before I go. I've done most of these, Japanese garden is a nice spot for sure. I haven't visited many of the food trucks in a while, mainly because of how bad things were getting downtown. Might check out Doe donut, that looked tasty.. I live close to a Voodoo shop and tbh not a big fan. I think I'm going to check out OMSI this weekend, I haven't been since I was in HS haha. Nice vid!
Nice relaxing informative video….
Glad you think so!
Great vid. New subscriber. 👍🏾
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the recommendations! My husband and I will be visiting soon. What did you put on the GPS to head to the Oregon Coast? I would love to visit that area you went. It looks amazing!!
No problem, thanks for watching! And it really depends on what you want to see. If you want to do some of the gorgeous hikes along the coast then I would type in Ecola State Park. If you want to check out the coastal towns then I would try Cannon Beach for starters. Have a good visit!
@@WanderlustWellman Thank you so much!!! :)
Great presentation! I'm from the San Francisco Bay area and there are so many parallels and similarities to portland. We even have that Salt and Straw ice cream shop in SF. So, is Portland, SF/Oakland's cousin or sibling?
Thank you so much! And that's a really interesting observation, I would love to come to the Bay area and visit to see for myself:)
Don't forget to visit POWELL'S ❤❤❤
Good recommendation!
In Portland now … it a must travel
I agree!
Hi Iam just coming Portland and Iam see all places Very happy 😂❤😂
That's great, thanks for checking out the vid!
Great video! I am going there again to visit next month. This will be my second time in Portland. Any new suggestions ? Restaurants ? What would be the must see and do?
Thank you so much! That's great to hear, I hope you have a good trip. For restaurant recommendations, I recommend that you check out my Portland food video! All of my suggestions at this moment in time are in this video
Yeah.. give this dump of a town as wide a berth as you can.. but hey.. if you're set on it.. we can always use another robbery or murder victim..
me too! gonna be there in couple of days!
Nice video!
Thanks!
The waterfront is nice too
I agree!
I dare y'all to explore it at night..)/*
now i want to be from Portland OR !
Haha Portland really has a lot going for it so I don't blame you!
I am getting a sugar rush from all the donuts. Love the Food park.
Haha yeah I definitely got my fair amount of sweets there! And me too, the food parks were pretty amazing
Eagle creek is my favorite hike in the gorge. Check out Pine State Biscuit next time you're here
I can understand why, Eagle Creek was unreal. And I'll add it to the list!
I thought you would eventually say oaks amusement park. I would do all the hikes in the future. And etc. thanks for the video.
Thanks for checking out the video, and I appreciate the suggestion!
@@WanderlustWellman Your Welcome! Thanks for commenting back!
You forgot to mention Lincoln City which is about an HR drive from Portland, Lincoln City has gorgeous beaches and the drive from Portland is only 80 miles.
I see, I've never been there but I would like to visit :)
The abundance of weed stores and the drop dead deals of the century for weed 😊
The new voodoo donuts location is still in Portland, just on the east side. 0:51
1. Visit the Homeless
How do I find that area of the Columbia River Gorge at 6:01?
That's Punchbowl Falls, which you can find on the hike via Eagle Creek.
how many days was this trip? and where did you all stay at?
I think it was 2 nights/3 full days. We stayed near the Buckman area, which we thought was a solid location with a rental car
Can you fly a drone at any of the waterfalls that you mentioned?
You definitely can't fly one at Multnomah Falls
What is the name of the mo7ntain you hiked around andAbout how long did it take to complete it
It was the Eagle Creek Trail to Punchbowl Falls, I would estimate it takes about 2 hours or so out and back
@@WanderlustWellman thank you
Videos like this make me rethink moving to a California city for university! I currently live in corvallis and I always feel like there isn't much to do. I didn't realize Portland had so much. I do hate the gloomy weather in these areas though.
Well I'm sure California cities have a ton to see and do as well, plus sunnier weather! I guess it just depends on your preferred scenery and overall vibe.
@@WanderlustWellman out of state tuition too though 😭😂
@@garettjohnson2234 yeah that’s true as well! Well hey, Portland might be a pretty good location to keep in mind then
Lol I moved from SoCal to Corvallis for college
I grew up in Eugene and now live in downtown LA. The weather here rocks, and there is a TON of things happening here. When I lived in Portland and Seattle I felt like I was missing out on the global action happening in SF and LA. I’ll end up back in the PNW eventually… It is still “home” in my heart.
Which Voodoo Donuts location is better for avoiding a crowd?
Voodoo Doughnut - Davis
I've never been to Portland, but I"ll def keep these in mind before I make it there!
Ah well I definitely recommend visiting at some point! Thanks for watching 😁
That includes avoiding the homeless right?
Good luck with that. 🤯
Is that even possible?
Looks like an amazing place to be a foodie! But we may not have room for anything else after the artisan ice cream
It definitely is, and yes the ice cream was definitely filling
Hello my friend long very good nice video 👍 iam on Egypt 🇪🇬🌹🤝💐
Thank you my Egyptian friend!
Cheerio dreaming of living there one day
I don’t blame you, Portland has a lot going for it!
@@WanderlustWellman no the fuck it doesnt
Everyone is leaving and the city is taken over by a drug and crime epidemic, look at the news and go there
Thank you for this, very informative. We are going to Portland this July so excited already!
That’s awesome, hopefully it won’t be as hot as last summer! Have a great trip 👍

Thanks for the watch and subscription my new friend! Have a great day 👍
Mt St Helens is closed until 2025 or so due to a massive landslide that closed the road to it.
Dang that’s too bad, thanks for the update!
St. Helens erupted in the 80’s 😂🤣
Great video! Thanks. You might want to rehears the way Oregonians say Oregon. Hint:: the last syllable is not pronounced, "gone".
Thanks! If you've looked through the comments, you can tell that I've learned the correct pronunciation by know haha
Where did you live while you were in Portland?
I actually didn’t live in Portland, just did extensive research on it and visited for a week!
There is no life in Porkland.. just joyless tax slaving existence for the fun and profit of our parasite state slave masters. Come for the views.. stay for the state rape and tax racket at the hands of badged terrorists, perjurers and racketeers.. Watch out for our cops.. they're rabid, rhoid raging road pirates.. Especially officers London Westerlund and Eric Thorsen.. these humanoid bags of excrement have no problem fabricating evidence, theatening bodily harm, or boldface lying in court. Please don't flag.. I'm exercising my one and only freedom as a Ukrainian tax slave of the "united" slaves of a-holes.
1: leave
Do Bend Next
I've never been to Bend before, but I would love to visit someday!
this dude looks like boomhauer from king of the hill
Thanks (I suppose) haha
Top Thing to Do in Portland. 1) Move away. 😂😂😂
Why's that?
Hi i was wondering is Portland strict when it comes to flying drones?
Not to my knowledge!
@@WanderlustWellman ok thank you ill be going to portland on October and taking my drone with me😊
Not enough..follow FAA Regs there iceman
So, 4/10 are food related, 3/10 seeing waterfalls, and 1 is not even Portland? Quiet the list huh? Excited to visit Portland....
I'm going this weekend and staying downtown - hopefully the homeless and other urban problems won't be too much of a distraction.
I hope you have the best possible visit! I recommend spending a good amount of time outside of the downtown area, as I showed in the video. Safe travels!
🥳
Kind of curious where you're from, I've never heard Oregon pronounced that way before
😂 I’m from Michigan, a lot of people in the Midwest mispronounce Oregon apparently
I've never visited here but it looks beautiful with alot to do . Wonderful video. I subscribed. Check out Taylor's grand adventures for great travel videos
Thanks for the subscription!
Sounds like I need to make a video that doesn't suck oregon's d.. or hide her sh!tty bits..
Portland had a net loss 18,200 residents from 2020 to 2022, making it the 6th fastest shrinking city in the nation. No doubt it will lose more this year. People don't flee desirable places. Portland was great 10 or 20 years ago. Now it is becoming Detroit 2.0 due to moronic woke policies, lawlessness and a dying downtown. All the good foodie places aren't going to make up for that.
lol sure, anyway, less traffic, time to escape the shithole of florida for me
Was there early 2022 , the streets are worse than skid row LA area it’s nuts
But its " progressive " and lgbtqlmnop freindly
Our state is pronounced orygun not orygone ❤😂
Oh so it's pronounced "O-REE-GUN"? Got it, thanks
Oregahn
Great video, but there is one problem: You are now wanted in the state of Oregon for mispronouncing the name.
Haha yeah no kidding, wanted dead or alive based on the comments below 😂
Nice video but I'm from Philadelphia and that wasn't a steak haha . Nice water falls
AT LEAST YOU COULD PRONOUNCE OREGUN CORRECTLY. IT IS NOT NOT NOT ORE-GONE!!!!
Ora gone is wrong. It is ory gun.
You can tell he's not from Oregon just by the way he says it!!😂
You're spot on!
Oregon is pronounced OR-A-GUN!
It's pronounced "Ory-gun"!!
GUN it is Oregun...my that sounds lame when you say Oregone.
Donuts are culture? Sad. Greasy food cart food. Beer. Ice cream. Nature, great.
it's not OREGONE It's Oregun
I would reshoot this video with the correct pronunciation of Oregon. A friend is going to Portland for the first time and asked me for recommendations. I was going to share this video, but nope. Just nope. I can’t do it. The Ore-ee-gone just kills it.
I might remake the video if I have updates to my list or other things to include, but I still believe it’s a great list and guide despite my mispronunciation. I’m sorry that it kills the video for you though
Whatever you do in Portland you best have a concealed firearm. Don't be a victim.
Number one: Leave and never look back.
Why what is your issue with it?
@Mihaela I grew up there and watched as the tent cities slowly started taking over every patch of grass next to the roads. I've worked in businesses while a random guy is urinating on the front window. I've been threatened by random lunatics who thought I was following them when I just got off of work. The police don't show up to deal with crime, but they will definitely pull me over 7 times in 3 months for no discernable reason. My family forked over more than half our income just for rent in some of the worst parts of town. We couldn't save. The daily crime was getting out of control. The city was literally watching us because somebody complained that we were always doing repairs on our cars, so of course they had time and resources for that.
Thankfully, we managed to get out before the riots, and everyone I talk to that moved out of there after I left has told me things have just gotten worse.
Ora-GONE…😮😮😮 WTH?
10% of the time showing donuts
Haha well I do love donuts!
Its not "Or-a-gone". If you're going to review Oregon please - pronounce the name right
I swear, do people do anything other than eat when they travel? Like what a waste of an experience to spend most of the time just shoveling sugar down your gobs.
Oh, I'm sorry. Can't forget all the "gardens" too, mustn't not see all the same exact frickin' plants over and over again.
Sorry you didn't like some of my recommendations, I agree that there is more to an area than just eating and visiting gardens!
elon musk look alike
Haha I've heard that before, I'll take his money but not his looks!!
Elon Musk would be happy if he was this handsome 😂
[cleanup on isle/highway 47] please...thank you...::static homosexuality & drugs::
Why are you saying Oregon like Ore-gahn?
That's how I've heard it pronounced in Michigan and I didn't know different before I went, but I know the correct pronunciation know haha!
Because he understands the English language.
first thing to do in Portland: leave
🤪
Keep your negativity to yourself please 😅
Dude, it’s Ore-gen not ore-gone, lol. 😂
Thanks for the clarification Kevin DeBruyne (AKA KDB) Lol 😂 but I won’t make the mistake again, promise 👍
Pentagon, hexagon, paragon, all pronounced phonetically with the last syllable as a pure "ah" sound. It's the people in Oregon that mispronounced their own city's name!
not to be mean but wrong way to say Oregon in your entry it is not Oregun
just saying you say it weird
No problem, but plenty of people in the comments already addressed this so I learned the correct way a while ago haha
美国波兰太难看,太多的homeless,穷得叮当响,我们永远不会再来
Unfortunately many cities in America have a bad homeless problem, but I still think it has world class attractions and a lot of beauty in and around the city.
@@WanderlustWellman The homeless problem in other cities doesn't compare to portland bro don't even try to gaslight like that. The sidewalks are filled with tents, homeless are attacking people, setting fires, stealing from every business, defecating in the streets, and you want to ignore that. You think "world class attractions" like 15 dollar donuts and ice cream cones make up for the disgusting piles of filth on every street.
But this is typical for you people. Ignore a problem and pretend it doesnt exist while gaslighting the people who are suffering because of the problem. Notice how in your video you never show the actual city or the streets. Weird how you were in such a "beautiful city" yet your video is oversaturated close ups of food and you sitting in your room with terrible audio mixing.
@@ihmen hey what do you mean by you people?!? Lol jk, but I hear what you’re saying Portland has a bad homeless problem and I’m not denying that. Unfortunately so does LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, Denver, Chicago, New York, and others. For the things I highlighted in the video, I think Portland is an amazing travel destination despite the homeless problem. If it ruins it for other people I understand, but my experiences mainly consisted of eating food, visiting parks, and being in nature - all of these luckily didn’t involve interactions with potentially dangerous homeless people
Donuts don't count as culture
Disagree, food is definitely a part of culture - even if it is donuts!
Main thing to do is just not go. Crap city. Alson, what the hell with the pronunciation 😂
That's not how you say Oregon :)
Best thing to do is NOT visit Portland, Oregon
"Donit"" "OroGONE" lol Does this dude know how to pronounce anything right? lol
Hahaha I never realized I say donut that way, maybe it’s a Midwest thing 😂
I agree if you are highlighting a beautiful city like Portland, you should listen and learn from the native Oregonians.
Ore e gun
NOT Ore e gone
And Mult no mah Falls
NOT Mult i no mah Falls
Fair point, although I believe I pronounced it "Mult-no-mah", unless I had a misspeak.
