I will be visiting Seattle for the first time in 2 weeks and I really enjoyed your preview for my vacation. Not to be harsh but I will take a hot dog critique that mentions "ketchup" with a grain of salt. Thanks for the smiles. Subscribed.
Love these videos! I have seen many videos about Seattle and this probably the most interesting video but I hope to go back next summer and also to meet my aunt there hope yall have a blessed day.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Seattle is amazing, and I hope you have a fantastic time visiting your aunt next summer. Have a blessed day too!
Starbucks started in the 70s. The store you visited is the first store but not the first location. They started out about a block north and then early in their history relocated to that location. The first Starbucks cafe, as we know them today, was located further into downtown. Personally I don’t think it’s worth waiting in line to get in. It’s no longer the bean and equipment shop that it began life as, and everything on the menu is standard. But if you’re there at 6am when they open then by all means take a look and get a drink. As mentioned Starbucks Reserve is a more unique experience if you’re a superfan looking for something you won’t get elsewhere.
This was a great video of Seattle’s highlights! Question- where is the strawberry shortcake stand? I thought it was at the Kerry Park per the checklist but saw you guys take a car after the monorail so maybe it was somewhere else! It looked really good and I for one would visit Seattle for something like that!
Thanks! The strawberry shortcake stand is in the park below the Space Needle. If you're walking towards the monorail, it'll be on your left, after the Museum of Pop Culture. And YES, we can confirm it was REALLY good. Hope you get to visit it!
I am visiting Seattle for 2 days from India and looking for good places to shop. Seattle premium outlet mall is too far and would take the whole day. I want something within Seattle or Redmond to buy stuff , clothing, chocolates , electronics and gifts for friends and family. Can you suggest here
It's not Pike's Place... there is/was no one named Pike that owns this market. It's PIKE PLACE Market... a location. This is a mistake that more people make than I care to think about.
We always appreciate coming across people such as yourself who are so passionate about a location and care to share facts to first time visitors like ourselves. Thanks for watching and sharing!
It's called Pike Place Market, because it sit's at the foot of Pike Street, where, west of First Avenue, the street turns north, where the Public Market Center and clock sign is. This street is called Pike Place. Anyone who calls it Pike's Place is wrong, and I'm assuming, confusing the name with "Pike's Peak". But yes, everyone does it - except locals.
I want to visit. But all I hear about is the crime and shootings. And it seems like it’s all over the city, not just on the south and west side like Chicago for example. I would appreciate your take on this because it looks like such a cool city, but i really would like to stay away from bad areas if you know.
We totally understand as we heard similar things before visiting. However, we had a really good experience. While downtown, we walked from Pike Place Market to the metro and weren't approached by anyone, and felt safe the entire time. While eating lunch downtown, there was private building security posted at every other corner as well, and they kept people moving. Maybe some locals will add to this, but we were told Queen Anne is a safe area, where you can park your car on the street and not worry about someone breaking in. That's close to where we stayed and where Kerry Park is located. As with any new city, I always keep my head on a swivel and we rarely stay out past 9pm. Hope this helps and safe travels!
@@AndrewandMegan Thanks I appreciate it! I’m trying to plan a vacation for late next month to somewhere I’ve never been. I live in Illinois and never visited the northwest. Thinking about a Washington/Oregon trip and fly into Seattle and go places from there.
@@kieferclarkf1674 That sounds like an awesome trip! Washington and Oregon have so much to offer, especially if you're interested in outdoor activities. Starting in Seattle is a great idea bc you can drive down the Oregon coast or head North to Orcas island and Vancouver. Either direction, the scenery is incredible. If you have any questions or need more recommendations, feel free to ask.
@@AndrewandMegan Thanks again I really appreciate it! I don’t have a passport unfortunately otherwise I would love to go to Vancouver. Only time I was out of the country was in ‘99 when I was 15 I went to Jamaica. And believe it or not, back in those days you only needed a U.S. birth certificate as a minor to go to Jamaica. At 39 now, I need to get a passport lol it’s time.
Hello there. Thanks for nice video. I am planning to visit there on December, for the new year celebration. I am gonna stay there for 5 days. Is it good to visit there in winter?
Great to hear! If you're visiting Pike Place, we were told that 'Storyville Coffee' is worth a visit because of the coffee, unique atmosphere, and skyline views. Let us know if you check it out!
Going to Seattle August 12th-16th for work and taking my wife. Got an entire day basically on Monday and the evenings Tuesday through Thursday after work stuff, then a little time Friday . Your video inspired us to try the same itinerary. Maybe spread out longer than 10hrs tho.
Glad we could inspire you! And yes, if you have the time, spreading it out would definitely be recommended, because we would've liked to spend some more time in Pike Place or even adding a couple more places in as well. Have a great trip!
In a world where people disagree on so many things, it's great to hear that many of us agree on the best places to visit in Seattle, especially if you have a short time in the city. Thanks for sharing!
@@AndrewandMegan That's fair. As a Seattleite, let me offer a few additional ideas: We have a pretty decent Chinatown, a great place to grab lunch, and nearby Pioneer Square is the historical heart of the city. Take a ferry ride - it's easy to take an inexpensive boat ride as a walk-on passenger. MOPOP, beneath the Space Needle, is our pop culture museum and definitely worth a few hours. Rent a boat at the Wooden Boat Center on Lake Union and row or paddle around for an hour, or rent a kayak at Northwest Outdoor Center. Get a drink or a beer at one of our interesting Belltown watering holes, such as Screwdriver Bar, Navy Strength, Shorty's, Rob Roy. We have a pretty nice art museum, SAM, just a few blocks south of the Market. Obviously, the Waterfront is not to be missed, especially with a new addition to the Aquarium opening soon. Anything between The Space Needle and Pioneer Square/Chinatown is on this list and quite walkable.
The monorail travels between two stations. One station is next to the Space Needle (Seattle Center) and the other station is off Pine St/5th Ave (Westlake Center). They depart every 10 minutes so it’s super easy to catch a ride. Here’s the official website if you’d like a map, along with the daily cost and operating times: www.seattlemonorail.com/faq/
(Spoiler alert if you haven’t watched the video) We visited the gum wall… and it was interesting to say the least… since we only had a few hours to spend in Seattle we didn’t get to visit outside of the city, but we love hikes. Next time we visit Seattle and the PNW we’ll definitely add Snoqualmie Falls and Rattlesnake Ledge to our itinerary. Thanks for sharing!
Hi! Nice to meet you too! America has so much to offer. If you need any travel tips or recommendations, just ask. Safe travels and hope you get to travel here soon!
@@LeeroyJNCOs Thank you for pointing that out! That’s definitely a good thing for visitors to know. We’ll have to remember that for next time. Thanks for watching!
7 things your have to do in Seattle. You have to avoid the puddles of urine. Avoid the piles of human feces. Avoid the thousands of homeless people living on the sidewalks in front of businesses and sights. Avoid the thousands of drug addicts. Avoid getting robbed. Avoid the used needles on streets and sidewalks. The seventh thing you have to do in Seattle is, look at all the empty business spaces as a result of poor Seattle leadership forcing businesses to close.
Nice video! You two are pretty funny and have great chemistry. Think the whole video should have been called bloopers!
The bloopers comment has absolutely made my day! Thank you!
Can’t believe I did not watch this video before. Well done, relaxed, informative and entertaining.

Maybe we’ll have to do more checklist cities! Thanks ❤️
Seattle dogs don’t usually have the veggies like that. The ones on the pier at Frankfurters is better.
