    Just found you on RUclips- great videos! I just bought an Outback after buying my daughter a Forester last fall. We LOVE them!!! Only bummer was during both sales (same dealership, same salesman, both cars paid in full cash at time of sale) we kept joking about that “sweet Subaru swag” and were curious what we would receive. Nada. Nothing. Zilch.
    Obviously the vehicles weren’t bought for free goodies but when your brother in law used to work for Subaru (different state for over 15 yrs) you know they could give you some cute little swag. I guess, if i really need some Subaru merch, i can just go buy it. 😂🤣

    Good video. I could do without the Crocks. Better than a synthetic shammy is to use a water deionizer to rinse the car. No spots at all. I use Chemical Guys was with a foam cannon connected to a cheap electric pressure washer. Works great. For trim, I use 303, it was designed for airplanes. I only have to do my trip once a year. I use to have a 32ft dark colored RV. Drying water spots was not an option. It had lots of trim to treat. Look up those items.

I would really appreciate if you could put links where we can order the products that you recommend for the care and washing of our vehicles. I’m very interested in more information on what to do and what not to do when washing my Subaru. A rock just hit our windshield on the highway. Alex, do you know about any windshield protectants (like they have for cell phones) that will help protect the windshield? $900 to replace a windshield is so expensive! Just want to protect the windshield without affecting the cameras.

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  2 года назад

      I'm not familiar with any unfortunately. I would also encourage not to apply anything on the windshield because it can cause visibility issues with the cameras. For example, I has someone install tint on their windshield and immediately had to remove it because the eyesight deactivated.

      @@suecarroll7300 just wondering 8 months later... did that rock that hit your windshield turn into a crack? Subaru windshields unfortunately are notorious for cracking pretty easily. Some people reported the windshield cracking on the way home from the dealership.
      Most insurance companies will cover your windshield but be sure to double check. I would also find out if they cover eye sight recalibration since if you have to get a new windshield, you'll have to recalibrate the eye sight. Not knocking subaru I love subaru and my forester I ordered is on the way! But the windshield issues are very unfortunate

    Discount Tire told me it’s better not to spray any tire cleaning products on your tires because it causes the rubber to break down and dry rot faster than they normally would.

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  2 года назад

      That might be true for some tire shines. However, I've never experienced that with the one I use (Griot's Garage tire shine and trim coating). Not using tire shine can also cause the rubber to dry rot, which could cause a perfectly good tire to prematurely fail.

    You forgot the #1 thing that every New Subaru owner needs...... a spare freekin' Tyre! What is so hard about including a proper spare tyre in a new car? at least in the older Impreza the well under the floor in the back was deep enough to take a full-sized spare even though they only shipped a space saver. I picked up an extra genuine rim from a wrecker for $50 and put a tyre on it and so had a proper spare tyre in there. But in the new models, the well is only deep enough for the space saver it comes with, so there is no way around it.
    But yeah, #1 thing every subaru owner needs as a real spare tyre....... definitely not crocks! Lol

    A question for you I would appreciate your point of view.
    What would you purchase a 2022 Outback Touring or a 2022 Forester Touring ?
    I am going back and forth on this question - I am tending to go with the Forester because it has the refresh plus the Eyesight 4.0.

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  2 года назад

      Both are very similar in features. The outback is going to have a few more things that the forester wont have. For example, the outback touring is going to have power foldable mirrors and ventilated cooling seats, where the Forester will not have this. The driving position is also different between the two. The forester seats are positioned bigger than the outback seats. The forester feels more like an SUV and the Outback is more like a lifted wagon. The next thing to consider is your time horizon. If your local retailer doesn’t have one in stock that fits what you’re looking for, are you able to order and wait for it to come in? Right now, the Forester is taking about 5-6 months to arrive to on order while the Outback is only taking 2-3 months. Just a few points to consider. Here’s a video I made comparison the Outback and Forester in greater detail. Hope this helps! ruclips.net/video/yyA4PQHLfgk/видео.html

    On my '22 Forester one of the things I'm the most disappointed about is the screen and rhe polished black plastic. I'm not sure about the Outback but in the Forester it is NOT glass on the screen it is plastic and scratches extremely easily I am so disappointed with this and the black plastic trim they decided to use. Subaru should have thought about long-term use and how it was going to look over time because in a few years it's going to look like complete crap

    Hi Alex ,
    I have got a small scratch on the side of my new Subaru car by 2 year old son , what do you recommend get it painted by dealer or buy some product online and try ? And of course
    How can I get a nice Subaru key chain or key fob holder , I didn’t find good one on Amazon .

      Sorry to hear about that! We have a guy that does light touch up work here. He charges anywhere from $35-$75 to fix small scratches. I'd ask your local retailer if they have anyone who does touch up paint work. If not, you could try to find a product online but then you have to do it yourself. Alternatively, you could have that part repainted but that usually costs quite a bit. From personal experience, I paid close to $500 for a whole front bumper to get repainted. I'm not familiar with any key chain key fob holders, since I don't currently use one. If I ever see a nice one I can recommend, I'll let you know!

    Just curious, what do you drive?

      I drive a 2011 Honda CR-Z right now. Not my preferred car, but something that works for the time being while I save up. Working on getting an Outback Onyx XT in the near future! 😃

    What sear cover brand/model would you recommend for an Outback 2022 with leather seats?

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  2 года назад

      I wouldn't recommend any seat coverings for the front seats because this could restrict the airbags. For the rear, Subaru makes a great fitted seat covering. Amazon also has some but I haven't personally used those so can't say whether or not those are worth it.

    Alex, is there a work around to turn the wired apple car play into. A wireless connection ?

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  2 года назад

      I wish I could say yes but as of right now there isn’t a work around. We’ll have to continue using the usb cable until Subaru implements wireless CarPlay 😕
