I know. It's not targeting any keyword. Nobody is searching for tolls or budgeting. Everyone thinks they know more than they know --- myself included. Search for 'mount stupid' to find out more about what I mean.
I felt a moral obligation to do this one. Even if it didn't reach a large number of audience. Even if it didn't generate enough revenue to even cover the expense of making this video. I'm glad that you saw through the video into our intentions.

@@lakshyasingh5660 don't bother responding to all replies to your comment. Some people are irked by what we're saying in the video. That was my goal. Many of them chose not to express their anger. Hopefully, some of them took it to heart and want to change. Some feel obligated to defend their position with offence.
The only conclusion I'm drawing out of the impolite behavior is that the dude bought an expensive car. He's already under a lot of stress. We don't need to add to their stress. We should give them time to heal and recover from the disastrous financial blunder.

Dude, this was like reading multiple personal finance books.

    • @maheshy1
      @maheshy1 4 месяца назад

indeed, because some of it is straight out of the books.
I have read a few like Thinking fast and slow, Nudge, which explain the psychology of decision making. And a few on marketing like purple cow, contagious, made to stick. A couple of books by Ray Dalio are also in my pipeline.
I sometimes end up merging a few points from a handful of books to arrive at a conclusion. This video was also something like that.
I hope it helps you see through the marketing and makes your decision making sound in all areas.

I know. Chandi ki chammach se khana jada swaad nahi lagta.
Car is meant to take us from point A to point B. As long as it does that efficiently and reliably with a reasonable amount of comfort, it is doing its job just fine.
Somebody buys a grinder for 10 times the cost of mine and it only grinds a little bit better than my cheap one but looks substantially nicer. Should I call him rich or stupid?
A car is no different. It's after all a glorified appliance.
I understand that it's not easy to condition our mind to think against the manner in which the society has conditioned it. it took me a few years to get over it and I still sometimes fall prey to such thinking. I practice meditation to get a handle on my thoughts. You should try it too. It'll help. Then, you can make it think what you know is right rather than leaving it to its turbulent self.

My thoughts aline with this guy. When all my friends were buying expensive, in-trend SUVs like nexon, creta that too top-end, with 90% loan. I bought a Tata Tigor top end without loan, when I could easily afford a Nexon. I am so happy now. Even though sometimes i feel my car is small compared to everyone, I do stand out and slip through the traffic when creta like mini trucks get stuck 😂

Recently one of my friends dad who is looking to expand the family business was expressing his regrets to me for not quoting a higher bid as they missed the chance to buy a piece of property for business expansion by Rs. 20 lakh.
The property cost itself was in high 8 figures. He was appreciating the wagonr for being such a nice vehicle, easy to drive, easy to maintain. cheap to run. meanwhile, my friend was considering buying a 15 L vehicle, which would be his ~9 month income. The dad was wishing his son just bought a 6-7L car so that funds remain available for any potential deal in the future.
I was shocked to see my friend's dad's humility.
I'm sure you have a few examples too like this in your circle. I'm also sure, you know if you should behave like the son or like the dad.

I brought Brezza ZXI based on V3 cars and other review as most valued family car. I fixed my budget not to go beyond 13-14laks including all charges. It's a touch decision and used my saving from mutual funds and other to pay the down payment. I know that it's not a good thing to do but my mind was filled with different thoughts and especially going out with family is a big thing and the main reason that I don't wanted to go for any cheap cars (0 star rating cars) is my height, I'm close to 6ft and those low budget cars are not comfortable to ride.
And I completely agree with this video, right now my plan is to clear the hypothecation as soon as possible target is 5yrs but will try to complete sooner than 5yrs. And also need to create other saving and investments especially emergency funds.
Can you please make a video or if already created a video about quickly clearing the car loan by paying more EMI's please share the excel sheet or video.

thanks. let's say there 3 types of people:

      3. those who don't think like this and are open to changing --- this is the group for which I made this video. we did this for you.
now, not much point in clearing loan early. most of the interest goes in the initial years. so, you won't be saving much. just try and keep using the car for as long as possible.

whether we take right or wrong decision, i have found out that there are no bad outcomes. our good decisions, obviously, bring good outcomes. and our bad decisions bring us the knowledge about how to deal with the problem in future.
i am no one to decide your priorities. that is a job for you. whether it was a good or a bad decision is also for you to contemplate.
jis gita mein arjun se hathiyar uthane ko kaha ja raha hai, uss ko padh ke gandhi ne ahinsa ko chuna. kamal ki baat yeh hai ki kisi ka bhi decision galat nahi tha.
I'm sure you'll come out of this introspection wiser than before. That is what matters the most. More than the quality of decisions you made along the way. good luck.

scratch dusare ki galate se pada toh ownership experience kaise hua? samane wale ki galati hai toh usako pay karna chahiye.... parking/toll tax kyun dena pad raha hai.? gst/road tax dene ke bad bhi... wealthy ho toh koi kuch bhi maang lenge toh de denge kya?

      Nice question.
If somebody breaks my glasses (chasma), i will have to face the difficulties that now I"ll have problem driving and working. but i wouldn't mind the cost. it's fairly cheap. I can afford to buy another pair without even thinking twice.
if you are worried about repair cost after getting a scratch, then you're not wealthy enough to afford that car. Not yet.
About parking, parking ki parchi banane wale se pucho. And for toll, toll collect karne wale se pucho.
From your comment, i can sense that you bought your first car and it's quite expensive compared to your income. Like more than 2 years of your income. 3 mahine ya usse kam ki income ke cost mein car kharido, phir dekhna, scratch, toll, parking se farak padna band ho jayega.

10 lakh ki fronx 1.2 bhi slow feel hoti hai beat ke saamne in terms of in-gear rolling acceleration. not to mention, beat is incredibly efficient also. and I bought it for less than 5 lakh
I have had the pleasure of meeting one of the persons on the Beat project abotu a year ago, when he was at Citroen. No wonder the C3 felt mechanically sorted. He's now leading Nissan India. He still has the Beat at home. Mr. Vatsa's daughter drives it.

i convinced him to buy a nothing 2a and noticed a systemic problem in our society, which I wanted to address wrt cars.

Rent ki gaadi lene ka ek badi samasya hai - uska maintenance ka pata nahin. Kahin bhi, kuch bhi ho sakta hai. Jaan pyaari hai, to apni gaadi lo long trip par - choti ho ya badi.

the probability of failure in a personal but less reliable car is higher than in a rented car from a more reliable brand.
Even for a same make model, the probability of failure for rented is only slightly higher than personal.
personal car phas gayi toh nikalna hi padega. rented ki problem company ki hai. Humein next morning farak nahi padta ki uski problem solve hua ya nahi. personal mein sometimes, the headache lasts much longer.
there are benefits and problems on both side. question is how much cost (per km or per year) is justified for owning vs renting. once you have decided that, do the comparison and decide from there.
Sometimes, buying is indeed better than renting if the cost savings are less than what we are willing to pay.
