i love vinyl but never thought of using a hair dryer - duh. i have recovered golf cart seats with marine vinyl and use the powerful hair dryer to soften the vinyl so it stretches out over the seats. why i did not think of it for bags is beyond me. thanks - just bumped into your site and have been watching binge style for a few hours. so much more fun than watching football - lol\

Thank you so much! I've been trying to make one and the hardest part seems to be turning it inside out. I will definitely try the tip you shared - using a hair dryer. The vinyl I'm using seems to be very stiff too....

Thank you so much for posting this! I am trying to sew outdoor material that behaves the same way as this vinyl, albeit a bit thinner; what size needle and what thread weight/special type (?) are you using? Is the same thread on both the top and bottom? I would very much appreciate any instruction/information. Many thanks, again!
I use Gutermann all purpose thread in top and bottom, it's a ply blend so it's strong and doesn't break. My needle is a Universal 80. I have a free guide for sewing vinyl on my blog at hungryhippiesews.com -on the right side scroll bar. :)

I use Universal chrome needles and Gutermann all purpose thread. :)
You don’t need anything but the Teflon foot? The plastic doesn’t stick to the bottom of your machine?
Nope it doesn't stick. Just a teflon foot is all I use.
I always have issues of what size zipper to use and where to cut it if i need to.
Where did you purchase the yellow vinyl ? I can only find clear . Thanks
