I agree with ashlee. Great idea for the start of making Christmas gifts. I had the idea of making all kinds of bags, into which I'd put some great little gifts, inside each other. Better yet, start with a clear one and put the fabric ones inside with the gifts inside them... It will look so cute when the recipient pulls the clear bag out of the gift bag. Thanks so much for the clear instructions.
I’ve just started to make these. I love your tutorial. I had started making them before I saw your video and coincidentally enough I made it just like yours. I had trouble with knowing how to do the corners so I’m glad I saw this for future bags.
Thank you for making this tutorial. I used it to make a stadium bag for my family’s first stadium trip. It may have cost more than the bags in Amazon but it’s much cuter and I think it’s more durable. I look forward to rocking it at more pro games with my family.
Thank you for sharing. It’s the best clear / vinyl bag tutorial that I’ve seen, and love the bias detail around the bag. Looking forward to making one.
Thanks for the video. I had a bag like this that I lost recently so will see if I can find vinyl to make my own. I used the bag for hair and other products for travel.
My plan is to buy the least expensive heavy-duty clear vinyl shower curtain...what do you think? Think it'll work? We'll see. My husband won O's tickets for Saturday. We've no extra cash in the budget for this and gas and parking is going to tip the scale this week...so I thought we'd pack a picnic and I'd sew stadium approved bags as cheap as i can!
Thank you. I just made 2 so my friend and I can go to a concert. I am going to make something cute to stick on using my scan n cut. I also added an outside bound pocket for our phones.
Thanks for a great video. I will use this technique to make a dust cover for my sewing machine (different dimensions and minus the handles). I think my fabric tape color will be chosen to match dust.
hello ysa, i have brought my portable sewing machine and i just wnt to ask if u have tuturial for begginers using portable machines,,,, and can u please tell us what to use also
The corner part was difficult. I tried my best but still ended up with a small hole in the corners. Make sure to keep the corners tight while folding it 90 degrees.
@@Mellysews I must really be stupid because I couldn’t figure it out to save my soul. With the first side, I could move the big piece to make my 45 corners Where on the second side there’s no way I can move the big piece anymore. Thank you for replying I really appreciate it!
I like to tape paper to the bed of my machine when I'm doing a lot of vinyl projects. That or just use the paper that comes on the vinyl behind it when sewing. It keeps me from pulling my hair out lol

One of these years I'll get ahead for Christmas gifts, but it won't be this year, ha!

I love clear bags for packing because it makes things easier to find.

Hope the concert is fun!
The tip about backstitching instead of turning to make the box and X to attach the strap, oh yeah!, super bag, have fun at the football games. : D
Yes, so much easier!
I didn’t know about this rule, I just thought it looked cute! Thanks for the easy tutorial !!
Thanks for watching!
Love this bag! Great tutorial, as always. I am making as a gift, so I am sewing a big A for Alex on front
Have fun sewing!
This is such a cute bag! I can't want to make one.
Have fun sewing!
Another excellent tutorial. Thank you Sandra UK
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video. Very clear (pun intended 😊) instructions. Looking forward to making one.
Have fun!
Very good tutorial! I don't have vinyl buy I'm going to use the same technique using other material.
I hadn't thought to try with another fabric but it would work and could be really cute.

Sounds great!
Did you use a walking foot for this? Excellent tutorial, thankyou.
I don't, but it's good to play with your own machine to see what works best.
Very nice
Thanks
Great tutorial!

I’m not understanding what you mean by portable machine or how it would be different than any other sewing machine.
Love this bags.which type machine use for this bag .or any type

Yes, the corners are the most difficult part of this.
Wished you would have shown how to 45 the second 12x12 side.
It's not any different from the first side.

@@cindyandrzejewski2770 I just folded/squished it so that I only had the edge I was working on under the needle.
Thank you!

is it absolutely necessary to use bias tape? I'd prefer for my bag to be completely clear but I don't know if that's possible
You don't have to, but your seams would look different and the stitching is much more obvious if it's not perfect.
@@Mellysews thank you!!🥰
Nice
Thanks
Wow! Nice..hw many mm thick vinyl do u use
I think I saved that info in the blog post I linked in the description
Very nice 💞💞💞
Thanks 🤗
Since there’s no curves, does it have to be bias tape or can it be straight cut like you would use for quilt binding?
I think straight would work, but I haven't tried it personally.
Just wondering how you would add a zipper to the top?
I don't have a tutorial for that
@Melly Sews - thoughts on tucking the strap ends under the bias tape when you fold them? Any pros/cons?
Con is that would be quite a few layers of fabric you'd be stitching through in that area
I'd like to make some of these for our club. Can you recommend what type of vinyl you use? What is the guage?
I've got that detail in the post I linked in the description.
Awesome! Tfs!
Thanks for watching!
Could you sew a French seam instead of bias tape?
That would be difficult to do with the vinyl, especially in a thicker weight, as it would be hard to fold.
What gauge of vinyl is this? I want to try, but when I looked to buy some, they had a bunch of different kinds. Thanks!
This one is 16 gauge. More about vinyl gauges here ruclips.net/video/aoVdgiUr4z8/видео.html
Do you take custom orders?
no
What type of sewing needle did you use for this project?
The same one I use for most of my projects. More here mellysews.com/how-to-choose-sewing-machine-needles/
Cool, thx
I wish you showed how to fold the corner on the other side also. You just didn’t even show the video you edited out. Very confusing for the beginner.
The process is the same as the corner I showed.

That's a good solution!
