I love your video! You explain everything nicely, and you get right to it. There isn't a lot of unnecessary jibber jabber going on. I also love these bags! Fun and easy. I have made several in different sizes and I love them. Thanks for such a great video.
!!!❤️❤️❤️ USEFUL TIP ❤️❤️❤️!!! In this project I used one of those cases for bed sheets that are made of plastic and have those really giant zippers, I cut off the zipper I ripped the seams and I had a perfectly fine zipper to use after cutting it into fourths, also you can use the plastic inside of the bag to re-purpose it into this bag without polluting anything.
Just wanted to say you are an excellent teacher I have watched several of your vidios and you cover everything and leave nothing to the imagination. thank you!
I found the following general tips on sewing with vinyl. Needle - size 90 denim or leather. Thread - all purpose or heavy weight (not thin 50 weight). Stitch length - 3 mm or longer. Stitch width - 2.5 mm or wider. Foot - walking, Teflon or roller works best. Pins - try using clips instead. I hope this info helps others.
Oh my goodness. I’ve been struggling all day trying to figure out how to do this. And lord and behold I came across your tutorial. Thank you so much for posting the tutorial. Now I can make my bag. I’ve wasted so much vinyl and zippers trying to figure this out.
Something you missed saying was when you sew the vinyl to the fabric by the zipper to start and stop an inch from the fabric. I am glad I watched it several times to catch that little item :)
I made one of those last night to see if it was hard to make. It couldn’t be any easier. I plan on making several of these for the zippers that I have accumulated. I’m going to make each one with the zipper that’s inside of each, that way when you look down at the bag you can see the zipper. I think the next one I will get it a little warm to make it more playable for turning right side out.
Great tutorial! I'm a sewing beginner and I recently bought some vinyl I found in a remnant bin with no real idea of what I was going to do with it besides using it for a license pocket when I got up the nerve to try making a wallet. The zippered bag is a much better idea. I travel a lot and this will be great for carrying toiletries. A small size for my carry on and a larger one for my checked bag(s). Thanks!
Brilliantly constructed, thank you for this!! I am making a pouch to hold my supplies and wanted to add zippered bags inside, this will work perfectly.
I bought some vinyl last week, ready to make some project bags - I'm glad I saw this tut before I started as I would have sewn them flat, without the boxed edges - thanks for the tip :)
Hi! I'm so in love with this video! I made a bag to take trippin' and I love it! This was an excellent video. I didn't have any trouble sewing with the vinyl at all. Just wonderful! Thanks!
Very interesting project! I made three small bags (snap closure) after reading your blog - love them. But will definitely sew the zipper one as well. Thank you so much for all your tutorials!
How do I find your tutorial for the project bag you are showing in the beginning of your video. I'd like to see how you covered the bottom of the bag with fabric.
Just getting into sewing and love the mini clips you used to hold the fabric!! Do you have a brand name for the Mini Clips I can search for online? Thank you 😊 PS Wonderful tutorial, easy to follow and makes the project look really professional at the end.
question by another and not answered...with the topstitching of the fabric top, do you begin and end 1" in from the end of the fabric? I really cant tell from the video. Thank you.
sorry so late to the post but only just found the video . i have read all the comments and could not see my question there. i would like to ask you what stitch length you would suggest using when making this vinyl bag. Thank you. i enjoyed the video very much and i do intend to try this myself ..
What size and type of needle do you use. I'm have a lot of trouble sewing with vinyl. I guess needle size would be somewhat dependent on the weight of the vinyl one uses.
I love your video however it would be nice if you would have shown how you sewed the vinyl and what presser foot you used on your machine. I found out the hard way that you have to use a rolling presser foot and make sure you have a stiletto because your material slides and bunches on the plastic.
+Veronica Scott I Njust used my regular sized universal needle. The vinyl is actually very easy to sew through, your machine won't have any problems with it.
Thanks for the video. They are very neat but I'd like to know what process did you use to sew the vinyl & also leatherette. Because I tried sewing one & I encountered some problems. Can you give me some advice please & thank you.
+diana diamond I didn't need to do anything special. Used my regular needle and the machine went through it just fine, same with the faux leathers. Here are some tips about sewing with vinyl that might help - so-sew-easy.com/tips-for-sewing-with-vinyl/
Love your zipper installation. The best I have seen yet. Thanks. I will use this today.

Thanks for great tutorial! I have a question about the top stitching. Does the top stitching also start and end 1" in from the ends?
What a neat set of bags! TFS!!!
Hi Deby, Love this video. You make it look so easy and your instructions are so easy to follow! Thank you!Gail
You do such wonderful work! And you always have great fabrics. Thank you
When did you open the zipper when sewing around the perimeter ?
Important to open in half way before sewing around the perimeter, so you can turn the bag right side out.
That is an important item to mention!!!
Great tutorial! So very easy to follow. I'm making these today!
Put a sheet of paper between the vinyl pieces, just a bit smaller to avoid the seam. It will allow you to move the vinyl around without sticking.
good idea
Where do I find the pattern for the little projects bags at the start of the video please? So Sew love them!
Hi great video, have you done a video of the small bags with snap, would love to see how you did them. Thanks.
I luv 💞 it !! Soo much easier

What type of needle do you need to use for sewing on the clear vinyl?
I just used 12

If you lay a length of teflon tape (plumbing supplies) on the bottom of your presser foot of choice it will slide right over the vinyl.
Love this.
Fantastic tutorial!! I really appreciate the detailed info like how you didn't change your presser foot for the zipper. I can't wait to make one!
your video is perfect my pouch came out perfect..thanks
what type and/or size should you use when sewing vinyl, or does it matter? thank you for this tutorial!
sorry I meant what type/ size needle, thanks
+Veronica Scott I Njust used my regular sized universal needle. The vinyl is actually very easy to sew through, your machine won't have any problems with it.

Amei. obrigada. I loved it, thanks
How do you turn it right side out? the zipper is closed
I wondered this too
Shelley Rivers You need to unzip the zipper halfway before sewing the side seams.
Amazing!Thanks for the video.
Reminder: open the zipper before sewing the sides and bottom so you can turn it right side out.
Awesome thanks
Ciear vinyl zipper bags. V. Nice. Good iediya.
Thanks for this video!
Thank you very much Helped a lot my mom
Brilliant
so clever
I like it thanks for charing
Very nice
Could you cut the excess off of the boxed corners before turning the bag? Or would it mess up the vinyl? Thank you for another wonderful tutorial! ❤️
I was thinking the same and I don't see why it wouldn't work.
mary long yes you could! It doesn’t hurt anything at all. The reason most keep them in a bag is to give it more structure. It’s up to you 🙂
Where can i buy vinyl? The link you put does not work :(
Just tested the link and it does work, please try again Thanks! :)
Chiara Pachi hobby lobby
