The GSM is returning to his parlour (assuming it is in the same place as it was a decade ago), which is in HQ London District, there being a door to the left in the archway. The GSM has a batman to look after his selection of uniforms and, as he is the Garrison Sergeant Major of LONDIST, he is naturally located at HQ LONDIST. D
I popped into the GSM's parlour once. His batman at the time had a sideline bulling footwear, and I popped in to collect a pair of bulled George boots for a colleague. D

The TSG are used for protection due to the level of training they get, they also do other special stuff like protection during specific CatA prisoner escorts. Great resource we have. 👍🏻

The second time I've seen a video of the Greek Minister arriving at the MOD, the first time, he met Ben Wallace who was then Defence Minister (24 July, BUSKA) There was a guard of honour on that occasion also. UK has two bases on Cyprus, so it probably makes sense to keep on good terms with Greece.

The Greek Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias was the chap visiting our MoD; and GSM Stokes also has an office in HQ London District I believe (i.e. Horse Guards).
They are the Irish Guards as denoted by the 4 button on the tunic. The police are exceptionally well trained and lethal specialists on par with the infantry and many would have military experience. Not a combination I would want to mess with.
This is quite interesting to watch. The police would know who the VIP but it is hush hush; which means he/or she can't tell you for sake of security. I'm surprised that they didn't have the road closed down for the special guest. The officer in question is that he is from Greece.
US military and/or Secret Service would never allow such close contact and especially someone to film the goings on, or at least not near the building where the dignitaries will be located. There would be barricades blocking public access.
Prince William and Kate arrived at Buckingham palace last night, in a barrage of police cars, They did look all dolled up, maybe some kind of state dinner or something

The Guard of honour is nothing to do with the presence of so many police and is a frequent occurrence. The Police vehicles are in the only place in the Government security zone that is easy to park that many vehicles. I suspect that the rise in protests and the recent terrorist attacks is why the police are there. The guy you said was a diplomate is probably one of the many retired officers employed as part of the VIP visits cadre and clearly trying to make space for the incoming VIP. I photographed many of these over the years, that is a step lining party and not the huge parades and inspections we used to have. Once again those police are nothing to do with the MOD, it’s just a coincidence.
There are 4268 acting police officers in Kent which has a population of 1.85 million, it works out at around 1 police officer per 430 inhabitants which is roughly the Uk average.

There was more than a "few Irish Guards in the back". All the Guardsmen, Corporals and the Colour Sergeant were Irish Guards Regiment. The Sergeant Major was Coldstream Guards.
This just shows that we have an awful threat of terrorism, I’m very fed up we have people probably living here who obviously hate us and our way of life when we have visitors that we want to talk to! If you don’t like our way of life, LEAVE our shores!

Funnily enough, I asked an officer that exact question in the video of the protest posted yesterday! 1. Navy = Constable 2. White = Sergeant 3. Red = Inspector 4. Yellow = Inspector or Chief Inspector 🙏🏻

4:30 the female protection officer has her left hand trigger finger on her weapon and side arm on her left leg? Have they changed the rules on right side only then? When I was in the army (I’m left handed and sighted) I was forced to use my right on my L1A1 (SLR not SA80) I was reprimanded more than once for using my left! I know that using the SA80 left handed the shell would take your eye out.
FYI, soldiers don't carry ammo in the capital. The armed police do. So even if there is a loads of soldiers guarding something, its actually the police in reality.
@@frontenac5083 Whys that? Its pretty obvious and commons sense. Police have jurisdiction on the streets of the UK, not the army unless martial law is declared. Do the soldiers even have rifles here? No, but who does? Do soldiers carry handcuffs, tasers etc? No, they carry a rifle and bayonet, so what, do they shoot or stab anyone breaking a law? If you pay attention, where ever there are queens guards etc, there are always armed police with them.
@@fastair8546 actually it depends on the security threat level in the u.k if its high enough guards will be allowed to carry ammo magazines on them under their dressing but won't be allowed to load them into the weapon.
