It is such a pleasure to watch the horses and now how calm and relaxed they are, which is how it should be. Also well done to the Kings Guards for upholding the new rules, it has made a massive difference.
I’m so glad they’re not from the US we’re a little more respectful of a military they know that the military is to be respected and honored for their sacrifices they make, and believe me, I instilled that in my family and children, you respect them no matter what❤❤❤
You are so right.ive said it many times that in United States if anyone is caught disrespecting the military men, the police are right there to escort you out and in some cases to jail.
So glad they finally put a “box” around these fine horses for protection….keep all the abusive tourists away from them and being so annoying and over stepping their bounds.
Tourists show being upset they cannot maul or touch the Kings Guards Horses. But WHERE can any tourist PET a SOLDIER? The horses need protection. People were blatantly pulling on the reins. Absolutely needs to stop
Oh get over yourself ! Seriously ! They should have never STARTED letting tourist touch the horses to begin with. Now you think EVERYBODY should know the new rule ? I hope people judge you as harshly as you do others. 🤦♀️
@@Ladywolf2263Wow! Who is she "judging". Technically you are both right. What matters is you both obviously are compassionate about the care of the Kings guards and their horses. It was obviously extremely stressful for the guards and their horses especially when there were several people on both sides touching the horses and grabbing at the reins. What really pissed me off was that most irritating lady who hung out all day acting like it was her job to show everyone it was okay to pet the horses. The first time she argued with the guards or cops she should have been banned. They were all WAY too tolerant of her! I realize she may have had a mental issue or something but dang! She was an extremely rude lady! Anyway, I was so happy when they finally painted the lines to keep the tourists away from the guards and their beautiful horses. It's obvious how much more relaxed they are now which I'm sure everyone agrees about that! God Bless you and have a safe, blessed, wonderful Christmas!!
Well done John, it’s not only disrespectful, it’s damn rude, I would have been much more direct. It’s their place of work not a comedy show and a bad show at that. At least John, you put the respect of these serving troopers at the top of the list. Well done and thank you ☺️ 😊
My nephew and his wife just got back from the UK. They had a great time. In London for a week. They visited her family. She was born here but family in England. He said that your country is gorgeous! They saw the guards at horse guards and the changing of the guards. He said your villages are so quaint! AND THEY saw a lot of the country in three weeks!
Have to agree with you about the young ladies who were disrespecting the Guard. Not Americans and certainly not New Zealanders John . . . but Australians huh!! : Kiwi
Love what you do out there! Much needed distraction here in the US very pleasant to see all the beautiful horses I myself rescued horses from the race tracks and found them loving homes. Retired now however the disrespect shown from people towards guardsman etc. It is not expectable. Very disappointed in the lack of respect when in someone's country. Where is the kindness these days?? However thank you for doing this most enjoyable.❤
This is the second time I’ve watched this video and if the older woman wasn’t with them she still was laughing at their antics. Maybe she pretended she wasn’t with them. It’s too bad they weren’t told off
Those ladies were very disrespectful wonder how they would feel if someone just randomly showed up at their place of work and started telling jokes. I bet they wouldn't be happy about that.
@FaithSpence-hq4yu . When the horses have completed their training the Troopers suggest names using the letter of the alphabet for that year , the newest horses have Z names . Names are usually military connections or classical .
At least the lady with the brown stocking hat and lavender hair tip did sort of bow to the hard as if to say thank you for letting me take your picture! None of the others did! You move your camera too fast!

Sorry but I am going to be controversial here; the Kings Troop Royal Artillery are a Ceremonial regiment, unlike the Lifeguards i e Lifeguards and Blues and Royals, who are active serving military personnel. The kings Troop aren't. Someone once quoted that they are equestrian hobbyists pretending to be soldiers...that is actually quite correct! Anyway....
Horses will chew mouth and play with the bit similar to people chewing gum or a baby sucking a dummy . Some bits have rollers which actually encourage the horse to play as it keeps the mouth moist .
THAT BIT HAS TO BE IN THEIR MOUTHS FOR SEVERAL HOURS A DAY FOR 1 HOUR SHIFTS THEY DO THEY MUST DO MAY BE SEVERAL ONE HOUR ON THEN 1 HOUR REST THEN OUT AGAIN FOR ONE HOUR SHIFT
@@susanharrison6401The total time horses are on show in the arches is from 10am - 4pm daily. Each horse does 1 hour then there is a changeover. It's rare that they do more than just the 1 hour shift .
@susanharrison6401 . Do you think they leave the bridle and saddle on when they finish the hour duty , they are removed given food and water in summer an electrolyte feed . Checked over and rubbed down . First duty starts at 10am last ends at 4pm , if a particular horse has been unsettled another replaces him/her for duty . So horses may do 3 one hour duties a day but that's not set in stone . Two days at Horse Guards then back to Hyde Park Barracks when the regiments change .Each horse has its own individual tack carefully made by the Master Saddlers . These horses receive better care than you or I !

Disrespect is disrespect. Thank you again, John, for saying something.

Obrigada John , seus vídeos são ótimos!!!
Dear John, thank you for all you do, I really enjoy watching your videos, love listening to you talking 😊
I feel it’s extremely disrespectful! 😡
Thanks!
Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
The older lady was still laughing with them at first, untill she saw you,
ouch stay away form swords tourists 😂😂
How about they respect the Troopers at all times. Ty heaps for your service 💂♂️ 🐎 ✨️ 💖

It’s cowardly taking advantage of a guard who cannot answer back -
4:26, waving hand blaze, Thor?
Good video John.Caroline Scotland.

Love your talking about what is going on. is karen really gone?
So disrespectful leave the gatesman alone .
I thought that this horse was Wombat
Extremely disrespectful, especially considering that they are young ladies doing this to a fellow female.
If tourists keep going in to the box stop them all
I don’t no why they Carnot put collection tins on the gates money could go towards old soldiers or museum xx
always be careful with swords
12:56 são brasileiros 😊
Amo meu Brasil
What is with playing the music so loud?
It forces me to be ashamed of them
Where do you find the horse's #? Is it on their bridal?
ID number on their hoof
John who names the horses ?

Confused. Not confused, remember dating is different 5/11/24 is actually Nov. 5, so winter gear correct. (To me it read May 11).

20th November 2024.

I have the upmost respect for the Kings Troop, but they are not the Kings Lifeguard and are not active soldiers.
Sorry but as a Brit listening to rubbish!
@@samjones9539 I believe any regiment who mounts the guard at Horse Guard is the King’s Life Guard while they’re there.
When they reuse a horses number for another horse does that mean the other horse has passed?
Either passed or retired .
@@kathellison8084 thanks I hadn’t thought of retired.
I so dislike what they put in the horses mouth, the “bit”? They always seem so uncomfortable, moving their tongue around, etc. Just my opinion. 🤷🏻♀️
The Guards hold the reins too tight in order to keep the horse's head upright. I think its cruel and unnecessary and it does hurt the horses mouth!
Horses will chew mouth and play with the bit similar to people chewing gum or a baby sucking a dummy . Some bits have rollers which actually encourage the horse to play as it keeps the mouth moist .

I really dislike their beards and facial hair
Their faces, their choices. I don't mind neat, clean facial hair but since you do just stick with clean shaven men.
I'm not fond of soldiers with full bushy beards but a neatly trimmed mustache and beard is fine
