I used to work in a carwash where we were cleaning new type-r's for the delivery/shipment to it's buyers and I was speechless everytime I got an oportunity to sit in one even tho' I dont have a livense. It's been my dream for a loooong time now to have one of those bad boys.
actually the more I hear it the more I appreciate the sound!!!! the car sounds amazing inside and when you have the windows down even more so!!! also that turbo sound!

I drive the same car. The engine noise is not a strong point at all. Even when compared to the 2000 1.4 Acura Integra LS with an intake, it pales in comparison. I wish Honda would have really tried harder in this aspect, because one reason why we all loved these cars was because of the VTEC sound and even the high compression non-VTEC sound was good, like previously mentioned.
It's quite low geared in 5th and 6th looking at that which helps the acceleration. Not that many will care, but that won't be great for overall fuel consumption and so it must sit at about 2400 revs at 100kph cruising which could get annoying for daily driver use too.

I think people praise the civic type r so much is because people expect less of a front wheel drive car and the civic type R exceeds that expectation. Ignoring the legacy of Type R, If that same car had rear wheel drive and someone else made it, people would not give as much critical acclaim.

Tan Lee Guan you are wrong!.... it has a permanent Vtech in the exhaust ( meaning the cam lift is highest) and a traditional vtech on the intake side.
My bad it’s the opposite... permanent on the intake and traditional Vtec on the exhaust side...
