I do not like the band even though I bought maybe five of the records. It was definitely something l listened to when as a teenager. As I got older the only person I liked was Space Ace.
I think everyone of the original four members are amazing. Genuine. Not arrogant (well maybe Gene a little bit lol) Grew up this band and spent a small fortune going to Dubai last new year's event. But I'd do it again if given the opportunity. KISS Forever!!!!
It's so neat to see this in a live setting. Say what you will about any of the original members of KISS, Ace inspired me to pick the guitar up. I quickly found that one of his major influences was The Ventures, and reverted to them as a major influence. While KISS were the band that made me pick the instrument up, the Ventures made me good. And then Alice Cooper made me bad again.
Bearded and bespectacled Ace looks like Waylon Jennings. Both have native American ancestry. Differnt sounds for sure. Ace I have seen live, Waylon only on TV. Had all the Kiss albums at one time. Fractured Mirror is still a favorite instrumental.
Y’know, I reckon it was part of the show to build up the rhythm. He’s done that on other shows with the same guitar. You’d think he’d throw it away after the number of faults.
Can you imagine what it must feel like to go from in the prime of your career with the multi-million dollar stage props/acts and selling out venues in just hours (and this being BEFORE the internet, cell phones, etc.) and then to play a gig like this? Yeah, I'm sure he was bored, but damn can you blame him? Kiss was top billing for many many years. How many 70's bands can still draw a following and do so solo and/or without all the original members? These guys still do. 😉🤙
