Joey Reacts Great reaction! Please do react to Queen “i want it all” and “These Are the Days Of Our Lives” the last one breaks my heart every time I watch the video
The last thing Freddie sang was in the studio, recording all he could before he died, telling the rest of the band that they had to finish it - which became the album, "Made in Heaven". The last of his recording was for the track, "Mother Love". If you listen to that song, the final verse is sung by Brian May, because before Freddie could record that last verse he felt too weak and said he had to go, but would come back and finish up later (he never did, shortly after dying of AIDS related pneumonia). He'd been propping himself up at the mixing desk and knocking back shots of vodka to keep himself going. The vocals he managed to pull off were amazing.
Have a listen to "Mother Love" x
I am enjoying your videos hugely. The fact that you were willing to give opera a try and appreciated it says so much about you as an open-minded person. Kudos to you...and onto your next one.
I enjoyed your No Bad Vibes video. Very bright and cheery. Good job.
Hey man you rock bro talk about checking stuff out I really appreciate you checking a track called cool cat out by Freddie Mercury and Queen I’m sure you’d really like it i just think it’s right up your street bro take care man!
He wrote this. When he presented it to the opera singer, she was floored because he even sang HER lines for her!
Yup mind boggling
With an octave drop, I presume 😂
In her octave
i know he wrote the lyrics, but, do you know if he wrote the music?
infinity251214 - yes he did
R.I.P. Montserrat Caballe! Now both can duet in heaven
You have to respect a singer who can sing rock, pop, disco, opera and he even performed at the Royal Ballet. I'd like to see "My first time hearing.... that performance. I've known that Freddie would be a legend since the 70's... I'm just glad that the rest of the world caught up!
Punk, trash... You name it, he sang it as did Roger Taylor and Brian May.
Agreed! I love this channel for that very reason! It’s like discovering it all over again.
I was born in '82 but i grew up with queen. 36 years later i am still listening to them.
You forgot jazz and gospel x'D
I don't know much about Freddie Mercury; I came for the legend that is Montserrat Caballé. When did he ever sing opera?
Montserrat Caballe was really shocked at how pure Freddie"s voice was when he asked her to sing this with him. He sung both parts when he took the song to her, and she said yes immediately after hearing him sing. Before that she was unsure if his voice would be up to it..
True fact!
i dont think she really knew who freddie was, and she had all the right in the world to feel how ever she felt.
@@makaveli201071 yes
Richard Stiles you really don't know who she is do you.. at the time she was the premier female opera singer in the world, so don't denegrate her talent through ignorance. I'm a huge queen fan, saw them live on numerous occasions, both together and individually, plus have every single and album they releasrd together and individually, so I do know a bit about them. People who try to put down what they know nothing about are the most ignorant. Freddie had problems with his voice on occasions pure as it was.. Montserrat Caballero trained hers from her early teens, and helped Freddie when he had problems with his as they became great friends.
@@tollyt7465 yeah, as a trained opera singer, who wasnt really aware of him, it makes sense she might be a little skeptical about singing a duet with someone who's known for singing rock. That kind of vocal range and power and phrasing takes most people many years to master. She was immersed in the world of opera. The fact that she was willing to step out of that world and collaborate with a rock idol was actually very broad-minded of her. Probably a lot of snooty opera singers that wouldn't have even considered it. I think they were probably honored to sing with each other.
Freddie wrote this operetta for her; to get her to sing with him.
When you began this "reacts to Queen" experiment, did you think for a moment that this one band would, or indeed even could, take you on grand tour of so many genres of music? Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Opera, Pop, Spoken Word, Rockabilly, Classical, Crooning, and so many many more.
This... THIS is why Queen was and still is so beloved 50 years later.
John Lee Pettimore III d
Joey after he met her he was in tears saying. “I just met the best voice on the earth and she’s agreed to sing my music!” He was overwhelmed. This was his passion project he hoped to complete before his death. The video is quite powerful.
She's just passed away now :(
freddie helped write it
React to the official Video : I want to break free.
All four members of Queen wearing drag as a parody of a british soap opera. The video was banned in the USA.
This video was banned in the U.S.A.?? Why?? I remember watching it on MTV!!! 🐧🐧
He has done that one, but not with the official video sadly
@Valerie Texan music transcends race creed colour and religion. Speaks to the soul without polotics and agendas.
A bizarre video based on coronation street, and not one of their better songs. Decent song, but not great, they did far better.
@@pablohanc a decent song as you said, it's amazing when you listen Queens back catalogue, they had so many great songs, Alot of good songs and a few decent ones. Not many bands or artists can say they have that ratio, Queen just didn't release many duds. Most groups you can pic at least two or three album fillers out of their albums. I never had that feeling with Queen.
Joey, that song was not of this earth. So many people (especially the young) cannot appreciate just how difficult it is to be an opera singer. Not only must the musical score be precise, the artists must blend and adapt to each other's style. This was magical and awe-inspiring. Vacillating between Freddie's style and Montserrat's angelic and pure voice. Listening to this song can bring tears to you eyes for you feel the very depth of how much Montserrat appreciated and loved her home city.
Freddie wrote almost every song you reacted to, including this one. Barcelona was the theme song of the Olympics in Barcelona. He also created the Queen logo (he was an art major in college and, for a while, worked as a graphic artist). A man with limitless talents. There will never be another like Freddie.
I had never heard this before. Amazing. Gave me Disney feels :)
Check out the Live Version!
ruclips.net/video/q0wdxj8-mAU/видео.html
Thanks! I will.
yes! i felt that also
Ew
This song was released in the year 1988 and in 1992 Monserrat sang the song at the Olympics in Barcelona Spain. They did not have the foresight to recognise it as the Official song of the Olympic Games but it became the ''Unofficial'' song of the Olympic games that year
You need to re at to the 20min live aid 1985 queen set. No other reactions channels have done it. So your hit rate should me big.
It's fantastic.
I've seen it done.
@@laurachamberlain6864 very few have done it. There is still a gap to fill atm.
Agreed. Try and do a Live Aid special with everything up to We are Champions (which you already did.)
Stephen, I only said that I have seen it done in reply to you saying that no other reaction channels have done it.
@@laurachamberlain6864 I got that. and I was replying to your reply, "it's a rare thing."
I'm not sure why we are in this circular conversation. It was all quite obvious what you and what I, was speaking of.
Joey, I’ll bet when you began this journey you didn’t imagine you’d be sitting here listening to opera! LOL. That’s the journey Freddie is taking you on, as he took us all when he was alive. Backstory: Freddie was a lover of opera (and ballet) and attended live performances. He saw the Spanish diva Montserrat Caballe on stage and was enamored with her talent. He expressed an interest in collaborating with her. She got wind of it and contacted him, set up for them to meet in Barcelona (hence this song which Freddie wrote about that meeting), they stayed up through the night into the wee morning hours, talking and singing. Freddie thought she might agree to collaborate on one song with him. Well, she fell in love with him right there and then. She asked how many songs were on an album, Freddie said around 10 or so and she said let’s do an album together! Freddie was like, oh sh*t! Now I have to write an entire operatic album! 🙀 The album is also titled Barcelona. The rock/opera crossover had never been done at that point before. Freddie and Montserrat were the first and made music history. Imagine a clean-shaven Freddie in a killer tuxedo on stage with Montserrat in her flowing gown singing that song as in the video. Leave it to Freddie.
You can really see in the video how much they enjoy singing together, and how well they play off of each other. And yes, Freddie looks amazing in that midnight blue tux, while Montserrat floats about in her pale blue, covered with sparkling crystals. They compliment each other so well!
@@neuralmute i can genuinley see how much joey respects and enjoys top top man
It's been great to watch!
When you start to say WOW when the song hasn´t already started means that it isn´t a song, it is a blessing for your ears.
I’m kind of jealous that you’ve just found Queen and Freddie. When you first find them it’s amazing, particularly listening to the songs for the first time. I remember first hearing Teo Torriatte (Let us cling together) such a beautiful song, it reduced me to tears. Freddie sings it so beautifully.
Wonderful song, when someone can compete with one of the best opera singers in the world, than he has to be good! Thanks for your reaction 😊
no problem !
No competition, rather, singing as equals.
True, she was like a mother for him cos he told her about his disease and she kept it secret too
I was really hoping someone would cover this song. I've always loved it!
that would be awesome
A little bit of Dutch pride: ruclips.net/video/Y420kVQ45GA/видео.html
It's from a program called "Beste Zangers van Nederland" (translates to "Best Singers of the Netherlands") where a group of Dutch singers get together each season, and then each Episode one of those artists gets to assign either songs they themselves have sung, or songs that mean(t) a lot to them, to the others and decide who did the song best.
It's an essentially endless source of amazing covers for everybody that knows about it.
Joey, I would not at all mind a Reaction to it, but whether you want to fit it into your schedule is of course entirely up to you.
TheLuckyjoenga That would be a completely pointless exercise. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it this performance is sublime
A little bit of heaven opens up and shows itself whenever this song plays.
Joey, did you just call her Mozzarella at 6:55? Laughing out loud over in Scotland mate. Enjoying your videos a lot
Oh I just love Freddie...keep it up. Love your reactions on him and Queen
thank you1
Freddie Mercury - Exercices in free love, you won't believe it
Arthur'fu I sang it for my A level music piece, it is a grade 8 piece (graded by royal college of music). It is so hard! I hope I did it justice, I got an A for my performance for it and Empty Chairs from Les Mis
@@chriggle1 good job!
When I heard that song for the first time I couldn't believe it was Freddie... Wow... He is something unbelievable singing that Exercise in free love
@@chriggle1 is it possible to hear you? ☺️
Monserrat Cabelle said that Freddie could slip from low notes to high notes easily. Freddie had the range of at least 4 octaves. Many said he could rival some of the best opera tenors. I think he could have sang numbers from a phone book and made it sound beautiful. I get chills just listening to him.
Freddie and Monserrat -> How can I go on
Jeremy Madrigal OMG YES such a powerful song
💪🏻
👍❤
Love of My Life is an incredible song...Freddie sang his own backing vocals! '39 is a Brian May song and so freaking good!
Freddie Mercury - The Great Pretender. It's a cover from a older song and he nails it.
I've never heard Freddie's version but I absolutely loved it. Thank you for mentioning it.
It's amazing. Pls react to it!
Should watch the extended version of the video, has some cute behind the scenes of them all in makeup.
YES PLLLEEAASSSEEEE
The extended cut is more focused on the behind the scenes. The regular version would be better to react to, so it'll focus on the actual song and intended theatrics of the film.
Montserrat Caballé, the Opera singer was said to have been impressed with his vocal range.
Since you’re new to Queen and Freddie and seem like you really like them, you should check out the documentary Days of Our Lives. It’s great.
Please react to Queen - The Show Must Go On and also Friends will be Friends. Thanks.
I do believe that The Show Must Go On is one of Freddie’s last songs and video before he died. He did it as a tribute to the band and his fans. He was extremely weak during the shooting of the video, but refused to stop.
Correction, the last video he made was These are the days of our lives.
paul buddy, I think ‘The show must go on’ is a compilation of all their videos.
I agree it was one of his last song made, but he died BEFORE the video was done, which is why they used so many pieces of film from his past to complete it. Knowing that fact make it so much harder to listen to and watch.
React to Freddie Mercury’s 39th birthday party video. It’s an interesting video and your reaction would be amazing.
You gotta check out Innuendo. 👍🏻
thats a good video
Yes it's a must. Also from same album headlong
Just now finding your channel, but wanted to mention that Montserrat Caballe` is still alive. Wish she could see your reaction to this song! That would really be awesome!
Fun fact: this was Freddies dream to perform with MC and wrote this song song on the flight there. Operatics And all
I'm Freddie Mercury's biggest fan & have been studying him since the 70's. The album "Barcelona" w/ Monserrat Caballe (the top operatic soprano in the world); was written entirely by Freddie Mercury. Monserrat just came and sang her parts for the recording. But when she couldn't be there for a performance... Freddie sang her soprano parts as well as is own Baritone parts. That's why he was the greatest singer of all time!
i THINK YOU'LL HAVE TO "SHARE" THE TITLE OF "FREDDIE MERCURY'S BIGGEST FAN" I've been listening to him since I was 12 with their FIRST Self Titled Album QUEEN. There are PLENTY of us that WORSHIP AND WILL NEVER FORGET THE MAN, THE LEGEND, FREDDIE MERCURY!! AGREED??
@@angelstar9221 oh,oh
just react to ALL QUEEN SONGS!
i sure will!
@@CrownFamilyHQ they had 15 studio albums! I bought all 15 when they remastered them several years back
This was amazing!!! Totally showed off Freddie's vocals!!! Their voices just complimented each other!!! This must be listened to with your eyes closed to really really really appreciate it!!! 🐧🐧
Perfect, Flawless and Freddie wrote it.
React to Freddie Mercury - In my defence
S W I love that song and the video makes me weepy.
Yes yes yes and yes.
Please do queen's the show must go on
wil do !
Joey, I don’t know whether you look back on the comments of songs you’ve already reacted to. If you do, can you please react to How Can I Go On? Freddie and Monserrat. She just joined Freddie a few days ago. She was 85. Would love to hear your reaction.
Please please do Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush...will be very interesting to see what you make of her!!
Would love the reaction of that 👍
D T Yes please that would be amazing
Song written for the olympics. He was a huge opera fan, obviously 🙄. Enjoying your videos. Should see video with her reaction to Freddy’s voice and working with him. Again he was sick at this point.
Show must go on basically dying takes a swig of vodka and does the full song in one take
"Barcelona" was NOT written for the '92 Barcelona Olympic Games. Freddie and Monseratte Caballe recorded the song several years before Freddies death. It WAS used in the opening ceremonies of the Barcelona games, however.
She said on an interview that he told her he was sick and what he had. Felt it was his duty to tell her. She marvelled that his voice was so strong and he told her yes but would not always be. She said she was thankful he told her, not as a duty, but a privilege that he trusted her and that was friendship. It was so sad that he died so young. We lost such a wonderful talent. I have not heard anyone come close to his voice. Love watching the videos
In the end I think Freddie was searching for God and found Him. I love the album Made in Heaven. I love all the albums.
It was submitted as a candiate for the theme to the 1992 games in 1988 (another Olympic year obviously) four years prior, so people are right and wrong
She couldn't believe his voice. She said it was like none other
You have to watch the first live performance of this in order to get the full effect - obvious, I know, but in this instance it is imperative.
innuendo by queen... youll be blown away
Freddie what a voice RIP
Was a visual treat as well
He should have watched the performance video , its truly an experience.
Freddie's vocals amazing given he was so very unwell at the time.
No he wasnt
I'm just crying listening to Freddy the world was a better place with our Feddy in it
Freddie is a God. Really
now Opera? dude, your mom should be IMPRESSED! I am 💖
Songs by queen sir
Have you done
Killer queen
Old fashioned lover boy
Crazy little thing called love
Stone cold crazy (Freddie sort of raps and the song is heavy and fast)
Bicycle race
I want to break free ( in the video they are all in drag)
Save me
Play the game
Radio ga ga
Every one was a hit
I love your reactions but I need to tell you. The Queen band is one of the only bands that I recommend to watch the shows. They react to them live instead of a studio version. Freddie Mercury is a spectacle aside ... the man can do very well live.
"I Want To Break Free" but this time official video :D You won't regret ;-)...
Written for the Summer Olympics in Barcelona if i'm not mistaken 😍
you should give a listen to The March of the Black Queen. It's another one of those very intricate songs that keeps going from one beat to the next and a great example of Freddie's vocals near the beginning of queen's career. That song is gold, and kind of insane!
This one is my favorite Queen song.
listen Queen - Mother Love - last Freddie's song
will do
@@CrownFamilyHQ cool man ✊
@Barbara Hernandez yaay, two great songs
You can hear both the pain and determination to sing it, he must have been in so much pain.
@@CrownFamilyHQ when you do, just be aware that the last werse is sung by guitarist Brian May- Freddie was so sick at the time he never came around to record it.
Would love for you to watch the 'These Are the Days of Our Lives' video, the last filmed before Freddie passed. He wanted it recorded in black & white to hide how sick he really looked.
He was pretty sick when he did this too which is crazy
This was years before he died....years
He had been positive HID since 1982
@@luciaflt that's not confirmed anywhere
@@curiousorange7723 @President Donald Trump no you're wrong lol..... He told her before they performed this song that he was infected with thr virus.... Lol
@@mrjvd32388 I'm not wrong at all.I said this was years before he was sick, not years before he had contracted a virus.
You need to watch the video to this, why would you not? Then Google or RUclips and watch the fountain in Barcelona to this music. I stood there in Barcelona and listened to this. And her name is not Motzerrella, she is Montserrat Caballe.
Montserrat Caballé died on this day October 6, 2018. RIP Montserrat. RIP Freddie.
Montserrat Caballé, gran mujer y grandísima soprano. Descanse en paz. RIP.
Thanks again Joey, especially for some more Freddie, nice study!
Dude you seriously need to 'react' to Queen's Love Of My Life live in Rio 1985. It'll show you just how much power Freddie had over the audience, you won't witness anything more spine tingling!
Great to hear someone trying to get into all different types of music . Cheers Joey keep up the brilliant work. Please though try Kind of magic by Queen thanks
Would love to see you react to Queen's two movie themes they did, Princes of the Universe (for the Higherlander movie) and Flash (For the cult classic Flash Gordon movie).
Got to react to queens these are the days of our lives (the video because the song will really get to youif you watch the video.....trust me 😢)
The Great Pretender please, Freddie’s version is brilliant!!
Thanks for that Joey, makes you wonder where he would have taken us next doesn't it.
You could to a reaction to ELO's Mr blue sky.
I'd really like you to hear "Bring Back that Leroy Brown" by Queen. It's total vaudville music. Then listen to "Stone Cold Crazy" (from the same album "Killer Queen" and considered to be the first thrash metal song ) to see the vastly different genres of music that they could cover. Freddie and Queen were magic!!!!
Ah...one of those cheeky solo duets
U should listen to the " Great pretender"
There was nothing that man could not do vocally
You have to react to the public chanting queen bohemian rhapsody in the greenday concert. The power of being legend
The most epic duet ever! Now both of them are filling the heavens with beautiful music.
Music here is something that you can't forget or give up.It's something that belong to People and the City. And None can give it up.Never.
Two of my alltime fav singers! Freddie is Freddie! Montserrat Caballe for ME the best opera singer ever!
Hi Joey. I subscribed. Love it that you're exploring Queen's music. Love it that you appreciate Freddie Mercury's voice and showmanship. Love it that you seem like a nice guy. You ask for suggestions.... When possible use live concerts for Queen songs. You did Who Wants to Live Forever recently. The live versions (like Wembley in '86) are SO much better than the studio versions without all of the instruments distracting from the power and purity of Freddie's voice. I don't know how to post a link. Too bad. There are so many you tube videos of Freddie's first demos of the songs that he wrote for him and Monserrat Caballe. In the first versions that he sent her for input and feedback he sang his AND her parts. Incredible. I'd suggest checking out cuts from the concerts in Budapest, Montreal, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Wembley in '86. Comment is too long already. Bye, and thanks.
You are great to watch, the open mindedness, the things you say. Now you need to see the video with it. Not bad for a guy who never had any vocal training or voice lessons. I do enjoy your facial expressions cause they are real as to what your feeling. People can tell if it's BS or the real thing. Your the real thing. Thank You
Can you react to Allison Kraus _ Simple Love. It's such a beautiful song...
Montserrat Caballé has died today. Rest In Peace.
She died today, now they are both singing with the angels. Somewhere in the universe this is happening again. Everytime someone close to Freddie leaves us it opens again the wound of Freddie's loss. I'm left here crying and missing him every day even more 😭
Listen to "Exercice in free love". It's Freddie. You just need to heard it... You will be... dead...
This lady,Spanish operatic soprano Monserrat Caballé, did this duet with Mercury to promote the 1992 Olympics held in Barcelona.
Man ... your journey is a thing to admire.
keep up.
My first time when i hear this song was exactly in Barcelona(Montjuic,Magic Fountains)... priceless
Freddie mercury is to entertainment what jack nicholson is to acting.....just pure charisma
Yessssss SOOOO GOOD!!!! This song was used to celebrate the Olympics in Barcelona 1989. Please check out 'Show Must Go On' next!
I think Barcelona 1992, were pretty happy with this choice
I know you get a lot of suggestions but could u react to Hammer to Fall? Or the full Live Aid show from Queen its 20 mins of Queen at there finest
Thanks for doing that!
no problem !
I like the way you approach "new music". Enjoy watching your vids. Greetings from Germany :)
Das Herz geht mir auf wenn ich diese beiden Künstler hören darf.
Danke guter Gott das Du uns diese Freude geschenkt hast.
I don't know if you knew that Queen was their backup on this song. As well, Freddie had Opera training in his youth. :-)
She was his favorite singer and she asked him to sing about her home city
This song was used for the Olympics in Barcelona, 1992. Wish Freddie had still been with us.
Please react to Radio Gaga at Live Aid
You should check out “The Golden Boy” by Freddie. It’s from the same album and it’s really interesting. A very beautiful song - much like this but a little more edgy.
I watched this on TV live as this was our first Olympics south Africa could join. Wowowowow was all I could say
These are the days of our lives. Freddie's last video.
you should listen to The Golden Boy of this same album singing with this spanish soprano, the video was a live performance in Barcelona 4 years before the olympic games there in '92
