    There is one fact people seem to be forgetting. Live Aid was not a Freddie Mercury concert, so not everyone was there to see him specifically and some may not of been his fans. If you watch his performance he had the entire audience eating out of his hand because fan or not they all knew how special it was. I don't think it has been, or even ever will be, matched.

    • @bernadetteparnell9500
      @bernadetteparnell9500 6 лет назад +41

      I couldn't agree more. Like many, I watched Live Aid because it was for an important cause. All these years later, I remember how Queen lifted the event. They, and Phil Collins, are the only entertainers I remember.. And Bob Geldorf and Midge Ure, of course, as the organisers..

    • @helloskinny510

      It's kinda weird because Queen were considered washed-up by 1985 --- but Live Aid had boring performances by supposedly young and refreshing stars like Madonna and U2 but it was the "washouts" Queen that ended up stealing the show

      Whats funny about Live Aid was everyone was restricted to a certain sound level. But Queen's sound man got under the stage and ripped it apart and turned Queen louder than anyone else. Was awesome.

      You're kidding me, right? You really think Michael Jackson lip syncing is a better LIVE performance than Queen at Live Aid? I don't think so. No comparison whatsoever. 1. He lip-synced 2. It was a choreographed show and 3. He had 0 interaction with the audience. Meanwhile, Freddie Mercury had nearly 200 thousand people singing and clapping along to "Radio Ga Ga" in sync. He captivated that entire audience like no other. And he captivated another entire audience in America at the same time. Lol. If I wanna hear the recorded version of "Billie Jean", I don't need to watch Michael Jackson lip syncing it.

      You are so right. Freddie is the greatest frontman that ever lived!! I told this to a 19 year old just today. I am 62...lol. I told him all you need is the first 4 or 8 bars of his songs and you identify it. Can't do this with "singers" of today. If you can it's probably a cover...again lol...Queen was the enite package, writers, singers, world class musicians, showmen, and most of all did what they did for the fans. Period. Many ant interview bottom line was " our fans buy aour recors, and as long as they do then F*** everyone else". Freddie was purely magical, an enigma, something that we can't explain our love for him about to others. They think we arw crazy. People who are not familiar with Queen think yea well Axel Rose... no... Freddie...you clueless ass...lol

    I wish you emphasized more on Freddie Mercury's musical efforts during his battle with AIDS. He recorded The Miracle in an early stage, and Innuendo during the later stages. To sing some of the lines he slammed a bottle of vodka to suppress the pain, and he also appeared in multiple video clips, with heavy make-up. And at the very end of it, he recorded enough miscellaneous lines to fill up another album, Made In Heaven. He almost literally went down, singing.

The Christmas of year Freddie Mercury died Elton John received in the mail a a present that Freddie had bought for him from an artist that Elton collected and there was note that said "Sharon Hope you love this Love Malena"
    To me that story shows what type of person Freddie was that even while he was dying he was still thinking of those closest to him and trying to bring a little bit of joy to their lives.
