roberto carlos The group Queen the composite today, just repeated their Live Aid concert to help Australian firefighters as most are volunteers. 3000 of them. Raising $9 million. Fire Fight concert featuring the best of Australian music. About 10 hours
I remember watching their performance with about a dozen friends. When Queen finished their set, our jaws were all on the floor. I don't remember which band followed them but, God, what a horrible position to find yourselves. Talk about a no win situation...
Queen begins and ends with Freddie. He embodied the band's identity, it's triumphs and failings and he was the psyche whose loss it couldn't survive. He was more than just a singer. He was a charismatic genius, not afraid to go after what he wanted. He inspired not only as a writer and as a musician and as a performer but ultimately as a man. He died young, he lived his life to the full and he crammed in an amazing amount of music. More than most people could in five lifetimes. What a brave and courageous man. He never dies because he lives in his songs and our hearts. Love you...Xoxox ❤
Was lucky to see them come to Vegas in 78. At the time I was in the Queen fan club so at 16 my dream came true to see my heroes! For another amazing voice check out Marc Martel, it's like seeing and hearing Freddie's brother... if he had one.
Jim Dale I will do that. I never got to see Queen. I was a young gal with an old soul lol! I guess I still am since I’ve held onto Queen as my favorite band since I found them in middle school.
I've been ill for the past 4 months and Music in general has given me strength on days when I had none...given me hope when all seems hopeless...and has given me a reason to push on..God Bless to anyone going thru difficult times...
My favorite part of this video is just after their part of LiveAid starts. (About 53:00) Wayne Sleep says about Freddie, “He TAKES the stage as if it’s his living room, and just TALKS to them as if they’re sitting on the settee in front of him. It’s all very personal even though it’s EPIC!!” as Wayne throws his arms wide. That’s the way I remember Freddie being every time I ever saw him. He was just talking to us. Yeah, I miss him.
I love the part at the end that his first girlfriend says that Freddie's death was a mix of sadness and some kind of conclusion to what he wanted which was going from a great singer to become a legend. He was a superhuman. They'll never be someone like Freddie Mercury. He was so unique in every way❤
Ladypilot Olson it’s sad that we don’t see that type of talent nowadays , with all this technology and music with no meaning , no soul or heart . I might be wrong but i don’t think we will see singers like Freddie Mercury again ( among others from the past )
@@marcusmachado670 It's bc today is easiest through the technology. Companies follow specific formulas and people are used , they don't have something better to do a comparison..
There never was nor will there ever be another precious soul like Freddie Mercury on this earth. Thank you Bri, Rog & Deaky for keeping him alive even now. Roger once said in a recent interview “ i truly hope we are making him proud...” Rog- I know our boy with the magic voice and a heart of pure gold is looking down with a smile, more proud of his little brothers than you’d imagine. 👑 #LongLiveQUEEN
I've watched more Queen and Freddie documentaries than I can count and every time I watch one I'm struck by how much Freddie's friends loved him, and still do. It's a beautiful thing to see and it tells me so much about the person he was.
30 years almost and still invokes such feeling of loss....Freddie... no words. Your music, the music of Queen, makes me happy every single day - I literally smile and feel a sense of happiness when a Queen song starts...thank you, Queen, thank you, Freddie. Wishing John continued peace. Thank you Roger and Brian for keeping your catalog live! Please continue to tour! Please come to America at least once more -- but even more and more would be appreciated. As long as you're enjoying, we are here to take it all in!
You wrote it very nicely, I agree with you, and I share the same feelings with the Queen group every day I listen to it and every day it makes me happy and gives me incredible positive energy.
Oh, Freddie. I hope you know somehow that you left many people very happy after meeting you. It would be several years before I "discovered" you, but now I wish I could reach out and hug you, and help you know that you're loved.
I was Lucky to see Queen in the late 70's great Legends and Freddie Knew we all Loved him such a performer, very sadly missed. Enjoy their music the best in the World. Queen are coming to NZ in Feb next year, sadly i can not afford a ticket . Hope they have a great concert in Dunedin.
@@valwalker6773 You are really lucky! I was at Kerry Ellis 'concert with Brian May of 2016 and Queen with Adam Lambert also in 2016 but I'd give almost anything to see Freddie in concert .
All through the 60s, 70s, and 80s, I was too busy trying to support my six member family to pay much attention to the "Pop Music" of the times. I would enjoy a lot of the Disco stuff at times as it was dwindling in popularity, and I had a few"classical" favorites. It wasn't until the middle 90s that I really heard and listened hard to "QUEEN" ... They blew my mind; Freddie Mercury's energy and vocal range astounded me. Regrettably, Freddie Mercury had already left us by then, and I had missed it all !! Now, all I can do is replay my saved video of Queen's Live Aid, at least once a month and find documentaries like this to watch on RUclips. It wrenches my heart to think about the tragedy of this man's disease and what a terrible loss to the rest of us. So sad..... The only concerts I've ever gone to were Neil Diamond Lawrence Welk and a few years with season tickets to the Opera ... Given the opportunity today, I would pay just about anything to go see "Freddie Mercury & Queen" !!
@@tex148th It doesn't matter that it was late when you started liking and listening to the music of Queen and Freddie Mercury. Unfortunately, we can't bring it back, only the music lives on through it.And I would give almost anything to go to his concert.

Freddie is the Persian popinjay that on its way to mars, flew beyond the skies. He is the star that illuminates us with every smile, every gesture. His charisma is a waterfall, we bath in its lake. He lives forever in our hearts with the magic of his songs.
Freddie was someone you wanted to see in a concert. He had a power only select artists had in the 70’s & 80’s. Elvis was the king of rock, and Freddie was his Prince of Rock. He influenced countless artists and still influences artists today. Freddie was the greatest of all time and will remaine the GOAT!
Even now I still can't believe we lost such a legendary singer and person 😢 i been listening to Queen and Freddy's voice since I was little. I mourned him after he passed away 😢

Whenever I hear Freddie’s music, it transforms me to another place. I love him so much and he makes me very happy. He is my happy place. I do feel his spirit alive in this world . He is very special💖
All of them were geniuses, and the other guys shouldn’t be forgotten, but when Freddy is on stage, who can see anyone else? He will never be forgotten, NEVER
He can only be described as totally magnificent; he had a once in a lifetime voice. I could listen to his music all day long. You never tire of it; it's as though he is singing directly to you, each individual person. A voice like his has to.go down in music as LEGEND because it cannot be imitated Freddie will be remembered by every generation; you only had to hear him once and you go back looking for more. The.world really lost a Great singer and showman ; but most of all we lost a great human being.
My favorite song is Bohemian rhapsody , and now my 10 year old son’s favorite song is bohemian rhapsody and I truly believe it will be like that forever in my family ❤

Aynur Bas I know. Queen had never before come to Turkey, only with Paul Rodgers. In my country with Adam Lambert 2016 and Brian May 2016 again - with Kerry Ellis. I was there. I'м from Bulgaria. We are neigbors.
Just to add that the pic of Freddie as a baby won him a most beautiful baby competition...and Freddie became a boxing champion as shown in the pic with the big silver trophy ...he had been bullied in school and learning to box was his response to that🤩
He died when i'm 7mos old.. but hearing Queen's songs.. feels like living at their time.. so pure, eversongs every lyrics is so heartwarming.. I love Queen's forever!! Freddie, roger, brian, deaky❤❤

I watched Live Aid 1985 via tv when I was just 10 years old. I sang radio Gaga, bohemian rhapsody etc as if I watched it live. My mother thought i was just crazy at that time, i sang and followed what the audiences did. Aahh...those were the days
I am always in awe of people with such great talent and wonder how many undiscovered talents are out there that never get an opportunity? I found my way here after watching Rocketman first and thinking Elton was the greatest showman......THEN I saw Bohemian Rhapsody........WOW, I never realized what a gift Freddy Mercury was!
Freddy Mercury was an Iconic figure ❤ and the Greatest Showman ever 😂 He will always be remembered forever and always ❤️ such a loss is heartbreaking 😢❤
The natural connect with the audiences, the chemistry is unparalleled. Selfless wanted people to be happy. Music in general relieves stress but after watching the performance of Freddie,i firmly believe he turned it into enjoyment.
Freddie appreciated his band mates, the fans and MUSIC and performing! I think he loved each of his Queen mates and that gave the world fabulous Queen. He did his best to help them stay together. The band, talent unmatched, determination unwavering, wonderful human beings, those 'boys' great icons for the young, middle aged and any lovers of inspiring music - now proving to be Queen forever.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” proved Freddie was a musical genius! “Innuendo,” the song and album, was another example all 4 members were musical geniuses. They took music to a unique level no ones been able to duplicate or ever will! 😊♥️
The official video footage of live aid brings me to tears each and every time. and when they had it as the end piece for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie...i sobbed through the whole thing. I was born a year before freddie died, but I would have given anything to have been born in the late 70s/early 80s just so I could have seen that performance first hand.
I grew up listening to Queen and I love everything they ever did. I also love Freddie's solo projects and colabs. The Barcelona album he did with Montserrat was absolutely brilliant!!! It showed how versatile he truly was... priceless. Rest In Peace dear Freddie...we love you and miss you so much. 💔
A comment I heard in an interview with a college GF was, (I paraphrase) " I thought 2 things when he died - 'well you did in life what you said you'd do and now you are on your way of becoming a legend.'" He really had done the musical creations he had a heart for once he had conquered the opera world. He was a trailblazer for others in so many ways in the musical world.
I'd be hard pressed to decide whether to bring my parents back, who I lost at age 5, or Freddie. I think Freddie. He meant too much to too many people, including myself, to be selfish.
Matthew Nathanael Or we can just give him and everyone in the 80's who has HIV our new medication we've discovered that stops the disease from spreading throughout your body and you can't spread it to other people. It stops the disease from even showing up in your blood. We've discovered something that saves people with the disease so they can live full lives and have sex with others and not spread it. I think sending that back in a time machine would be a lot better than going back and preaching not to be gay, you homophobic sad man.
Rοςκετmαη I think they would want their son saved. I really do. My family was religiously against some things until things changed within our family.. They changed their beliefs out of love
Mercury =“s message from the Gods. Freddie knew exactly what he was doing from day 1. He had a vision and Roger, John, Brian all recognized it...supported it...and helped nurture it.
Freddie...I grew up with you. I was a girl 12 years old when mum gave her a cassette of Queen for her birthday. Ever since then I have loved your voice, persona, charisma but most of all I loved the words in your songs. Queen music helped me trough thick and thin too many times. So truly there will never be any greater entertainer than you were. The whole lot of you. So wherever you are I hope you're rocking the stage. Bri, Roger and Deaky...we all love you for keeping Freddie with us still. ❤️❤️❤️

When I was 12 I hung around with my aunt who was 5 years older, she was the coolest. Aunt T taught me about real music/rock & roll and when kids my age were listening to pop music I was listening to bands like Genesis, Bowie, Mott the Hoople and Queen. As a Queen fan from the early 70's I have to say I think their early music was their best but they were always great
ONE of the best documentaries on the best of men and music and easily the best rock band. Freddie's legacy and music will last into the next century. I haven't met anyone young or old, male or female, who hasnt heard of Queen or their music. It's amazing. His death has left a gaping hole in so many lives.

@@janelle7668 Unfortunately I haven't seen Freddie . In my (former) communist country Bulgaria concerts by foreign groups were banned and I was not born ☹️
gabyy556 Yes, at that time until 1989 when the Wall in East Berlin came down. Have you seen Queen+Adam Lambert? 💜❤️
@@janelle7668 Yes I watched them in 2016 , they had a concert in my country with Adam and again in 2016 I was at Brian's concert with Kerry Ellis . And did you watch them?
The Live Aid performance took live music to another planet, unforgettable.
roberto carlos The group Queen the composite today, just repeated their Live Aid concert to help Australian firefighters as most are volunteers.
Paul Simmons - indeed 😁😘😘😘❤️❤️
He is so legendary that sometimes I even find it difficult to believe he existed. He was a miracle.
Yes…. He's the most beautiful Soul that was ever created❤
Farrokh Bulsara (Freddie) was and still is The Best. God Bless him😇. He was god sent.
Very nicely written. That's right.

Jim Dale I will do that. I never got to see Queen. I was a young gal with an old soul lol! I guess I still am since I’ve held onto Queen as my favorite band since I found them in middle school.

Freddie was taken to early but then someone had to teach the angels to sing ...r.I.p.Freddie
Freddie is truly the love of my life. The Soul of an Angel
My favorite part of this video is just after their part of LiveAid starts. (About 53:00)
Wayne Sleep says about Freddie, “He TAKES the stage as if it’s his living room, and just TALKS to them as if they’re sitting on the settee in front of him.
He was so unique in every way❤
God bless Mary for standing by Fred through his whole life.
I’ve said it a million times ..Dear God we have many good singers we can send to you so please could you send Freddie back. Amen
Only if that was possible :(

You wrote it very nicely, I agree with you, and I share the same feelings with the Queen group every day I listen to it and every day it makes me happy and gives me incredible positive energy.
Oh, Freddie. I hope you know somehow that you left many people very happy after meeting you. It would be several years before I "discovered" you, but now I wish I could reach out and hug you, and help you know that you're loved.

The natural connect with the audiences, the chemistry is unparalleled. Selfless wanted people to be happy. Music in general relieves stress but after watching the performance of Freddie,i firmly believe he turned it into enjoyment.
Growing up in the 60's and 70's. Freddie was a beast from another dimension. Thankfully.

FREDDIE MERCURY..... A TRUE GLOBAL ICON LEGEND SUPERSTAR ROCK STAR EVVVVVVVVER
Lets build a time machine and bring him back!
Yes, I want the same.
I'd be hard pressed to decide whether to bring my parents back, who I lost at age 5, or Freddie. I think Freddie. He meant too much to too many people, including myself, to be selfish.
The most sad part about this is that the religion his family followed, Zoroastrianism, was heavily against preventing a natural death
