Thing is, is just like Theo von and Bobby Lee, these two are at the vanguard of a long, long, LONG overdue way to start the healing: namely, humour. When we all learn to laugh*with* each other, Instead of *at* each other then all of the horrors and tribulations that the oppressed endured can slowly start to drift away with each generation.
Also, the children, the kids. As each new generation grows together, it is inevitable that they will one day, one sunny day, feel truly like brothers and sisters irrespective of the hue of their skin. And they will heal this divisive world. They and millions of children afore them have borne witness to such inequality, degradation, oppression and suppression that at some point something will snap. And they'll become a new breed of adults that won't have it.
It starts with genuinely affectionate humour about a devastating time in history, and continues with the children.

I’m not sure you’re aware but they can both be bad. In fact, cops are worse than your run of the mill criminal. Your run of the mill criminal doesn’t get body armor, radios, and friends paid for by the state. Outside of big, liberal cities the community isn’t on the common criminal’s side. It gets worse. Through BS like civil asset forfeiture, the police steal more than their badgeless counterparts; it takes a lot of tweakers stealing my propane tanks and my TVs and power tools to come close to the value lost when one cop steals my freaking truck.
