Great tutorial. I purchased it and installed it, a few little issues as every BMW project has. At then end I hooked it all up and it didn't work. It was the cigarette lighter fuse! Replaced the fuse now it works perfectly. Thanks
Hi JD, thanks for this video. I purchased a new QI charger exactly like the one you have in this video, however, I thought I would have to buy the newer LCI cupholder unit, but thanks to this video, I didn't have to. I was able to do the exact same thing you did here. Thanks again. One thing though.... Why does the little white LED stay on, even when the car's ignition is turned off?? Is this not a drain on the battery? Thanks.
@2:22 what is that electrical connection for? The small black connector under the cup holder that you touch first. That wire will now power the charge pad but what purpose did it serve previously?
Would you please share some photo on the manual for manufacturer information ? It's a China vendor which I could get in touch directly, thanks for sharing such good product.

Hey nice install. Question, does this charger stay on 24/7 because the cigarette lighter works without the key in the car or being turned on. Or does it turn off when not in use?Does the charging light stay on when not in use?
Did you ever get the gap between the bottom the charging pad and the center console fixed? You can see it in your video @5:55 and now that I’m test fitting mine don’t know how to improve it, I know if I install it like this it will drive my ocd insane.
@@Jeffc288 You'd have to check that manually by plugging into the lighter socket and checking the LED to see if it goes out. The idrive, stereo and interior lights have timeouts but the entire battery doesn't shut off as Connected Drive features work any time, like flashing your lights or locking / unlocking from the app.
Did anyone else’s not come with that harness wire to connect it to the car that he shows at 3:50 how else can I connect this if I don’t have that piece?
Anyone have issues with the Idrive knob or parking sensor/sport buttons not working after install? Charger works great but now I can't get my idrive system to work. Even tried connecting back without wireless charger and still having issues. Thoughts anyone?
Martin Rojas Great feedback - thanks! I’m gonna throw a kit in my F36 as well. Looks amazing and I put phone in that location there anyway all the time
I got some issue After installation of this charger by some reason my comfort access stopped working I can’t lock or unlock the car without key buttons Could you help me out with this, maybe there is some connections which works with the key fob? Seems like I installed everything back same way it was Thanks
@@jg_media9 well, the short answer is no. The long answer it can fit, but need some modifications. 1. The cig lighter connection is different, so you need an adapter or some soldering work. 2. It's a little bigger than the f22 ashtray but it can work with double sided tape but keep in mind that it's only for smaller phones, I would say my Galaxy S9 is the most wide (no issue with height) I would use.
Question: my wife bought me what appears to be the exact same charger off of Ali express for Christmas and I never got around to installing it-is there any fire risk with the “cigarette lighter” being on constantly? Or will it shut off eventually?
I drew up a quick design that would involve an angled charging pad to accommodate room to plug into the cigarette lighter, making the setup plug and play. A small lip would keep the phone on the pad and you would be able to easily see the screen for navigation. Wish I had a way to make it because this would be a killer accessory.
I completely agree! This was a problem that bothered us quite a bit about the second version... we are releasing a third generation wireless charger soon! It holds the phone in place very well!

Love that carbon fiber on the interior mine has wood and I this carbon fiber is what I need
Thanks! I have a video about wrapping trim.. you should check it out
I knew BimmerTech's $300 price tag for a charging mat was exorbitant!
Any chance ye have modified wireless charging for a bmw i4 g26,I’ve tried everything and haven’t found anything suitable,
I just ordered one. I really hope it fits my S22 Ultra
I’ll be working on my 528i hopefully rocking a JD Cars American flag shirt!
Sweet man!!

Please advise if battery needs to be disconnected thanks

pair this with bimmertech's wireless carplay/androidauto module and enjoy true wireless freedom.

Also curious about this😕
No it will not. Our cars go to sleep 10 minutes after we lock our cars.
Correct. The car goes to sleep and the unit powers off.
Hello, did you disconnect the battery before?
does it work with iPhone 13 ?
Nice Video! Just put my order in keep up the good work!
Awesome! Thanks, Frank!

No I didn't... but we're releasing a new and improved version soon!
thx, i order mine today ;-)
Awesome!
But why do you have a M3 bumper?
Thanks for that great instruction
Glad to be of help!
Do the ay have for BMW X3 f25...?
Does the wireless charger stay on 24/7???
Our cars go to sleep and the battery shuts off 10 minutes after we lock our cars. So the answer is no.

Did you have any issues with the iPhone 8 Plus? As am worried the space isn’t enough for my iPhone 11 Pro Max?
Hm... I haven’t tried the 8 plus but I think it would work

super dope man! tees looking on point as well
Thanks bro!
Iv just fitted mine, worked fine then I went for a drive and now the unit is flashing blue and white. Can anyone help ?
I just put this in and charged my note 8 about 8 percent in 10min just for reference kinda wanted to know how it did before getting
Martin Rojas Great feedback - thanks! I’m gonna throw a kit in my F36 as well. Looks amazing and I put phone in that location there anyway all the time
I bought this, but my dash cam connects to the cigarette lighter, any idea where there’s another port that my dash cam can plug in to?
Yes! Depending on your specific F30, the car should have a secondary cigarette lighter port under the glovebox and to the left. I hope this helps!
Is it QC 3.0 or 10W fastCharge???
I got some issue
After installation of this charger by some reason my comfort access stopped working

Максим Винс ruclips.net/video/KwJz2s6Q00o/видео.html 4:20 might help
I'm sorry to hear that. Did you find a solution?
@JD Cars any issues 3 months in with the wireless charging tray??
Nope! No problems
I need help getting the sport button off. Your video doesn’t show how to remove it. Please help
Watch my other wireless charging video for reference
Where did you get the harness for non lci models?
Included - it's the same harness for both
Yoo this is pretty sweet.. curious of the compatibility but wanna do this to my f22 now
Thanks man!.. not sure about the compatibility with the f22
I have an f22 and just bought this charger, I'll report back to you.
@@CartubeCoIl let me know!!

@קארטיוב Hey how was ur final product? Did you ended up finding an adapter between the charge pad and the cigarette plug?
Hey man where do you live, it looks beautiful there
Near Beverly, Massachusetts
Do you know how many W the charger Is? 10, 15w?
I don't sorry. But stay tuned because we're launching a new and improved version soon!
@@JDCarsChannel Sounds good! Then I will wait for that one 👍
@@JDCarsChannel any idea how soon "soon" Is. Will It be available at carqiwireless? 🤙

when you turn the car off, the electronics stay on for a little while. they then shut off automatically after 10-15 minutes
Thanks!
Would this work in a 2011 335is?
No
just wondering why dont they make the connector as USB and use the cigarette lighter itself to power it, so theres no need to disassemble the trim
Looks better like this and you dont waste the cigarette lighter.
Because, as I said, this was designed for the LCI F30.. in which the cigarette lighter is not located under the charging pad.
The whole idea is to have all cords hidden, else, you have tons of other options.
I drew up a quick design that would involve an angled charging pad to accommodate room to plug into the cigarette lighter, making the setup plug and play. A small lip would keep the phone on the pad and you would be able to easily see the screen for navigation.

New merch looks fire! 🔥 Huge fan, on the 4th I’ll be going to the lake with my family! Hope you have great 4th too! 🇺🇸
Thanks man!! Sounds like a good time. You enjoy the 4th as well!
My telephone always flyes in car, whenever it is on matt or in holder, because of my driving :))).
I will be on my boat with friends on the 4th
Same here man!
Dose it charge your phone fast?
Yes. Nice and quick.
I want to do this!!
Is it compatible with Samsung?
Yes
It slides a lot, cant keep the phone on place even on normal driving

Is that an Lci shifter?
Breadtilian Its from the ZF 8 speed sport auto
Correct
JD Cars did you install that or was it installed by the previous owner?
Awesome..
I rather get with the armrest one
Nice diy, and also disappointed with you keeping on saying iPhone X 🤦♂️
Well I mean it’s not a Samsung is it
@@seebxx I am guessing you dont get my point, it's iPhone 10 not x, the X means 10 in Roman numerals.

Noel Carreon Ok and what does the X means ?
Hahahahah thanks Noel
You should buy the M steering weel
Guessing you also watch
Justin Buice! Haha
For sure
Great charger.👍🏻
Why automatic tho?
Cause it's his car and can do what he wants
I hate the fact that the phone is not sitting flush on the pad lol
Hahaha.. it will sit flush on LCI models
This is NOT plug and play lol.
Looks pretty useless tbh. Also this felt like an 8 min long commercial
Sorry but the whole car looks like shit. Sad to see people modify their cars like this..
Ervin Qarri at least you said sorry. you’re too kind
