I have had mine for over 2 years and it's one of the best things you can have in the kitchen. You don't have to heat the whole kitchen up in the summer. I even took it to work the other day and made lunch for the employees. They think I am a hero now ! "It's not your grandmother's Pressure Cooker" It's GREAT !
Agreed! I have one been scared to use it but I used it today and I love the idea of using tongs to release the pressure. Easy suggestion but I just didn’t think of it lol
I just listened to a dozen videos on the unboxing of this cooker and your's is the best. Thank you. The others had much wasted time with miscellaneous comments and attempts to be humorous. This was a very good video. Straight and to the point.
Update on the new models! The older models had a button on top that said "cook time selector" The New models that have the red pressure indicator on top of the lid says instead of "cook time selector" now says "Saute" Which means you cannot use the big round button on front to change the cooking time. If you press it and put the lid on it will beep at you and flash "LID". You have to select what you want to cook and immediately press the minute button to reach the cooking time. I called customer service and got a person in the US that explained this. She said the "Saute" button on from is for searing the food and not jump to the cooking time. My new pressure cooker doesn't automatically seal up for pressure cooking so I have to jiggle the lid to make it quit letting steam out the vent hole on the lid handle.
I just bought mine at goodwill and I don’t have the instructions. I want to make beans and it did not let me set the minutes. I tried to watch the videos but my cooker is different . Please help
My friend gave me her instant pot she never used it and I had problems with closing and opening the lid since missing the manual from the pot. The problem was the inner part with the seal on was the other side around hah.
when canning the pressure valve continues to hiss steam out all through the canning process! Is this right No one seems to have an answer. Any help ? And also no we never use to much water and we follow all directions when using Power Pressure Cooker XL
That hole should not make any noise while cooking. It's the pop valve that springs up under pressure and prevents you from opening the lid. Mine used to pop up automatically but with time it stopped doing that so do what I do and push in the chrome pin on the side of the lid once you close the lid, this allows free movement. It's a cheap design that hangs up with age. Other than that I have no other issues.
Hi, I'll be demoing stock making in an upcoming pressure cooker review. Subscribe to get a notification of that review. To make stock, use the Soup setting and set timer for 30 minutes. Here is a stock recipe from Power Pressure Cooker's website: www.powerpressurecooker.com/rsp_details.php?rpid=175
Hello! ... I have this in a 10qt (it’s fabulous) however, it didn’t include a canning* cookbook/guide (despite its option button for canning) - does anyone have an idea of where I could purchase this? (thanks in advance)
My mom got a similar pressure cooker off and and I loved it in the beginning but now after having it over a year it's hit or miss mostly wit rice and certain meats...But when it wants to work it's great
Bella Marie wit.....OMG🤦. Please don't have any kids, they will end up ignorant just as you are. People like you, make me embarrassed to be an American!
I have the larger one. Takes up a lot of cabinet space; doesn't fit under cabinet. Seems to cook like my older stove-top cooker. Rice & quinoa cook ok in it.
I burned my pot because I forgot to put the gasket in and I am having a difficult time finding a replacement pot. Where can I get a pot only. Everything else is working fine.
Have had two different pots so far.....pot isn't stick free.......after a few months......food sticks no matter how careful you are. I babied mine with great care and rubber gasket still stretches out of shape. Now once again I have to replace both pieces. Will never purchase this unit again. Other than that...it's a great cooker.
Yes!... I have the same issue. The "Vessel" as they call it (the pot itself) is NOT a non-stick coating. It looks like a non-stick coating but it is not. I cook spaghetti in it and it BURNS badly on the bottom every time! It's really hard to clean the bottom of the burned pot! If I knew what I know now about this pressure cooker, I would have bought a different brand, one that has a shinny vessel and not one that has a look-alike non-stick coating.
I was considering buying this Power Pressure Cooker from watching the infomercial on tv I did not because I bought the Power Air Fryer first at Sam's Club. It worked fairly well I did A few steaks and ribs which turned out pretty good. The disappointment came after cleaning a few times. The copper coating, of the cooking basket, if it is copper started flaking off and the finish in the tub where The basket sits in also started flaking off. So the quality of the appliance is sub par convincing Me not to purchase the Power Pressure Cooker. It may be a good product, but because they're other product didn't meet my satisfaction, I would not buy this one. I did however purchase the Instant Pot pressure cooker after I googled electric pressure cooker reviews, and most every one liked it the best due to the stainless steel pot. It has worked flawlessly It was about $30/40 dollars more, but the quality I believe is superior. When considering making a purchase of anything, check the reviews of the item and those of they're competitors.
Please don't let your experience with the fryer scare you away from the pressure cooker. I have had my pressure cooker for about 3 years and don't know how I lived without it. Don't believe all you see on TV, they are professional chefs selling a product. You will find out how it will best serve you when you start using it. It took me a few times using it to realize I should use my own recipes not the ones in the cookbook. The apple pie is horrible, don't waste your time or ingredients. I just thought I would tell you that. I hope you will find this information useful.
Hi, Thanks so much for posting this review. I have the 5L version and the manual says to pour 3.5L of water in. I selected the Stew 30 minute option but it just sat there for 45 minutes not counting down from it's 30 minute timer. For a lot of that time steam was venting out of the top part of the closed valve, so I eventually just switched it off worried that it might explode. The valve was definitely closed though. How long please did it take your pot to start it's countdown in your video? And was steam coming out of your valve before it pressurised?
Hi, you're welcome! It took 35 minutes for the unit to reach pressure (and then count down) during the test run. It was set to Canning for 10 minutes. There was no steam venting out. 😀
Very nice demo but please don't buy this product! I did and was very happy with the cooking results. I bought mine on 9/2/18 and used it 3 times the first week. I stored it in my closet in it's original box because I don't have cabinet space for it. Brought it out last week and cooked 2 pork roast, "for pulled pork" which came out great. That's a total of 5 times using it. Brought it out again this morning and rinsed the pot, to cook 2 more. I notice shiny spots in the bottom of the pot. On a closer look the coating was coming off in several places. I only used wooden or plastic made for coated pans to remove or stir anything I had in the cooker. Never stored anything in it either. I'm over my 60 day warranty so they can't do anything to help me. I have 7 more roast to cook for a Benefit, guess I'll do it the old fashion way "takes 24hrs" in a crock pot. Guess I'll keep it for canning. My suggestion is to buy one with a pot that's not coated!
I just bought this at Costco. Your video really helped me to understand the written instructions so much better!! Thank you!

Amen
I have mine for about 4 Years it works great
Thanks for the refresher on the use of our Power Pressure Cooker XL. You were very clear on each step and especially to clean the lid properly.
Glad you liked the video, Spencer 😀
Thank yo much! You saved my children's lives😂...they lost my manual. Your recipe looks delicious! I know my husband and our children would love it!
Wonderful!
I found that larger recipes took a long time to seal and lock. Wet the gasket beforehand and it will seal and lock much faster.
I need assistance in knowing which button to use to do beef bone broth for how long?
What is the website name can't find it. Sometimes my lid comes off easily and sometimes it won't come off. Don't know what to do
Update on the new models!
The older models had a button on top that said "cook time selector"
The New models that have the red pressure indicator on top of the lid says instead of "cook time selector" now says "Saute"

My new pressure cooker doesn't automatically seal up for pressure cooking so I have to jiggle the lid to make it quit letting steam out the vent hole on the lid handle.
Thank you for this! Mine kept beeping and saying LID
Wow, rice, finally. Have had mine for 5 years. Do you have any other recipes for power pressure? I know the last comment was 3 years ago.
This will be my very first time purchasing a pressure cooker and I think I have made up my mind after watching this video. Thank you for sharing
Wonderful!😀
Yes stainless steel we got an insert to fit inside coated pot does not lose very little room.
Where did you buy the stainless steel insert please
I just bought mine at goodwill and I don’t have the instructions. I want to make beans and it did not let me set the minutes. I tried to watch the videos but my cooker is different . Please help
I just bought my power cooker plus at a flea market and it didn't come with the operation Manuel can anyone tell me how I can get one.
Love the directions thank you.
How do you sautee there is no sautee button
Thank you for the review. Would prefer stainless steel, no coated non-stick inside the pot. Eventually, the coating will wear away into the food.
You're welcome! Stainless steel is definitely a better choice :)
I disagree... This cooker has a strong coating that will last a long time and won't wear off. Non stick and easy to clean
YOU are DEAD WRONG!!
Yes stainless steel we got an insert to fit inside coated pot does not lose very little room.

Can you do Natural Release with this? Is there a safety valve/pin which tells you when is safe to open the lid?
I love the reviews you do they are easy to understand and great information ty

I just need to know how much water to put in there with my jars?
Do they still make this model?
Does it shut down completely after cooking the meal without going in the "keep warm" mode?
What if it's close empty and it's not opening What do I do?
How do I know what sz pot I have? How do I know the most cups I can put in?
Thanks for explaining about the part on the lid
My friend gave me her instant pot she never used it and I had problems with closing and opening the lid since missing the manual from the pot. The problem was the inner part with the seal on was the other side around hah.
Love this pressure cooker its fast, safe, and the food is delicious
