I have Simms and Orvis chest waders and they’re great. Many chest waders have male and female shoulder strap clasps, so you can fold them down to your waist and use straps as a belt. I use them as much lowered as raised. Good option to have! Thanks a lot Tim..Have a great week! 👍👍🎣👌
I have two pairs of Orvis, one top and one bottom of the range. On the downside, one suffered catastrophic leaks after a year, the other after a few months. On the upside I have two pairs of functional gardening bibs. Currently trying Dryft waders and hoping for the best.
Sorry to hear that you had the issue with the waders. I've had my Orvis waders for two seasons without a problem...fingers crossed! My Dryft waist-highs are a favorite, especially for the summer and smaller rivers. The Grundens are my newest pair and I'm impressed so far. Be sure to give me feedback you have re: the Dryft once you've worn them for a season, email: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks! Tim
Love my Orvis Pros! Definitely the toughest waders I've ever had. Plus the kneepads are great! Wish Orvis Pro would make waist waders too, but I do like my Reddingtons for my small mountain stream adventures if I'm not wet wading.
Orvis lights. Unfortunately got them snagged on a submerged barb wire fence first trip out!!! Think I’ve payed off the owners of aquaseals mortgage nursing them through. Intrigued about Gunther’s….see how they hold up.
I have the Simms M's Guide classic. I've owned cheaper pairs that I had some bad luck with leaking. These ones have been really good so far, they have made it through about 18 months and no issues. I would love to find a pair of women's waders that fit me in the feet one day. My feet are too big for all the women's I've looked at.
Hey Deb, thanks for sharing re: the Guide Classic waders! Heather has worn Redington waders for years and likes them. Redington used to make multiple styles for women, which Heather preferred. Now, I believe there is one main style, but they've been in Heather's rotation for a year now. Hope all is well on your end! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Tim, Long time no talk... Hope you and yours are well... Waders...Ugh.... My opinion? Waders are the most difficult item of Fly Fishing to Purchase... I have had Top Name Waders let me down and have had lower grade waders serve me well.... I fish hard but take good care of my Waders... Very Important to take care of them in accordance to the manufacturer.... After a few years I find giving them a fresh coat of Revivex and heating it in with a hair dryer... Okay enough from me..... Thanks for the Tips... Tight Lines and Dry Waders....
Thanks for checking, and they are really nice. As of this message, I've worn them a handful of times, so will reserve a full review until after the season. A neat feature of the Grundens is that they have en elastic gravel guard that simply slips and grips over a boot...slick design! Hope all is well. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I have a pair of Cabelas Dry-Plus waders, not high dollar, but they do the job. One thing I did find out is that denim jeans is not a breathable enough fabric to wear with breathable waders. I could never find the leaks that I thought I had, turns out I just had to switch to a more breathable fabric pants while wearing them.
I have worn 2 pair of paramount wast waders, 1 was a .medium size and still going strong after a dozen day long outings, only issue was I felt they were a little tight in the winter with heavy socks and bending over. So second pair (large, I'm 6ft 195lb) bought in December 22 lasted 4 outings before the seam leaked, returned to paramount with return code and they have so far gosted me, only been 3 weeks sometime will tell..I love wast high waders🙂 in
Agreed, Bill, the zipper is such an incredible addition! I've been using one since LL Bean featured theirs over a decade ago. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Hi Oak, thanks for taking a moment to comment. If you have any waders you'd recommend, please consider leaving a comment here. Re: the Grundens, I have fished with them a handful of times and like the direction they're headed, especially knowing the quality of their other products (I also have multiple pairs of Grundens shoes for fishing). Once I've fished with these waders for an entire season, I plan on making a full review, thus why this video discusses advantages of chest-high waders. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
You'll have to comment back after you've worn them for a season. I love the Grundens and recommend them, here's the video I shared after wearing them for over a season: ruclips.net/video/izc2BvZKmVU/видео.htmlsi=SJDDwgQq2ZhuFn1U
Favorite waders include Orvis Pro, Dryft, and these new Grundens! Watch more of my fishing gear reviews: ruclips.net/video/brOsJTCMF4g/видео.html

I love my LL Bean waders they come in Tall sizes. They're wading boots come in Wide sizes! Great for us big guys.
I use Simms Pro G4 zipper chest waders for cooler times and Dryft GD pant waders for warmer times. Both are great products!!! Thanks!!
I like my LaCrosse. But I never heard of waist high. I always see hip boots and chest waders.

Cannot beat old school, simple, tough G3's
Who makes those?
I have Orvis lights, and zip front orvis pros. Stocking foot with Korkers and Rocktreads on the bottom!
Glad you've had success with all of these, J.R., thanks for sharing! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I wear Redington Zip waders
Hi Tim Great video...

Thanks so much for the comments, Andrew, and the Orvis Pro Waders work super nice! The kneepads definitely seal the deal. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Love my Simms!

Great suggestion, Mathew, thanks for taking a moment to share with others! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I wonder what they look like?
Tim ~ I am going to try Paramonts waist waders, $259. They seem to have a lot of viable features.
Hey John, once you've fished in them for a bit, please circle back and let us know what you think. Thanks! Tim www.troutandfeather.com

Paramount replaced the waders for me begining of May. I not worn them as I have been wet wading which is the very best with good studded sandles 😂
They need to also make Men's Short like Simms does.
Hey Charles, I'm another fly fisher that appreciates the Short sizing, HA! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Never wear chest waders, not needed. Waist waders much more comfortable and comfort.
Comfortable AND comfort! Both...together...WOW!,
I like my Simms, once you buy waders with a zipper in front you will never buy any other.
Agreed, Bill, the zipper is such an incredible addition! I've been using one since LL Bean featured theirs over a decade ago. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
“Hey Tim, make a video of our overpriced waders and we will send you a set free and a gift card!”

I like my Simms……
❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉

Just bought a pair from Gatorwaders haven’t received it yet but they look awesome!

Bulky inconvenient, bulky.
Thanks for commenting, John, is there a pair, brand, model you recommend?
Electric socks!!! Helps a lot with cold feet. Just wear wool socks!
