@spunkyboyy yo bro I'm local from the area I have gsxr 600 like you, I was wondering if you can teach me to get better. I'm a brand new rider, I need to to improve in cornering and shifting and I'd like to learn from someone knowledgeable like you. I don't have friends that ride so I'd like to pick up good habits as a newbie, instead of figuring it out on my own. Let me know man, thank you.
@@oscarjdm23lets hope he sees this
@@Channel-pc3gg hope so , we can even make it a lil series for his channel. Just an idea 🤷🏻♂️.
What track suit, boots and gloves are those? Can you make a video on your gear?
girlfriend cheated on me, buying a bike, thanks dude.
Same
+1 , it sucks after almost 3 years i found out that she is official b*tch
that comment was a while ago, did you buy it?
Well damn 😮
Dont commit suicide, you will die
My one tip for new riders is also don't roll your wrist forward when you grab the throttle and front brake.. This will wear your wrist and potentially lead to giving it too much throttle when you shift up
then do what, you're unclear
@@HateToSayThisButyou use you arm to rotate, like a full movement just to get used to it
@@zCorruptable Thank you mate
Lol jerk off when not using the cluth 🤔@@HateToSayThisBut
Clear, concise and the examples get straight to the point. Thank you.
Love how far you have come bro. Love dropping in and watching to see your progress!!!
Thank you for doing this video! This is one of the best, most informed, and clear explanations of 'How to shift on a motorcycle!!!! AWESOME VIDEO!!!( it really helped) 👍🏼
I really like how well taken care of and how clean your bike is
I've seen a few of this guys videos on other platforms but he gets a lot of hate, I don't understand why.. he knows how to ride a bike and is sharing that knowledge, I have a CBT license, (UK) not sure what it is in the USA but I'm just getting the money together, slowly.. for my first bike, to get a 125 to get experience to see if going bigger is right for me, aiming to get my bike after 31st of the month, can't wait.
Dude. Thank you. So precise and to the point. Just what i was looking for. Thank you man
Just bought a Grom having never ridden a bike before and this definitely helped me get the basics down before going in for my endorsement
do you need your bike before getting your endorsement or nah? bc im trying to get mine and idk if i should get my fz8 before or after
I just got the wolf striker motorcycle and I'm kinda nervous about it

I just got my first Nike today 2013 crf 250l. And I cannot for the life of me get the fucking shifting down.
@@chachmcgrach2053 it takes some time since I’m on a Grom it’s a bit easier considering it’s a high rev bike , I will say 1st gear was the hardest for me cause I was constantly stalling the bike
Got a new bike after a 2 year break.
Your videos have been a huuugggeee help getting back on.
Congratulations and welcome back🏍️💨 I’m glad I could help!

Thanks! I post a lot of short videos on here, but gotta stat grinding them longer videos again!

MashAllah great and beautiful place 🥰 wonderful work 👏👏👏👏👏👏 my dear friend ❤️❤️
Thank you for showing how downshifting works foot wise. No one else shows that and I was curious how it worked.
Great video. Thanks

Thank you, good job.
You’re welcome👌🏻 and thank you!
Good advice. I’m old school. Nothing fancy. Just. Experience ✅.
Nice!
Dude...gotta jump on the bandwagon and say thank you, this is EXACTLY the information I was looking for, and straight to the point without the ego. Now it's time for practice!
That true good idea rev engine up a bit when change down less wear on the clutch if motorbike have rpm counter would help learn to know what rpm and speed for each gear take time and practice that spot on what I heard on the video 👊
Super helpful ❤️
Awesome! Love to hear that🤙🏻
excellent job - I could find no fault
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it🎉
Just bought my first Cbr 600 today this got me perfect in a hour lol
I love your GSXR
Thanks!
You should start a Traveling Motorcycle riding course, Offering hands-on training.
You are very clear and concise.
👀Good👍👍
guess i won't know until i try doing it myself this made no sense i won't lie. never been on a street bike tho
Great videos. Can you do one on how to tighten the chain on the bike? Thanks
Remember there is spring between the shifter and the barrel that moves the forks. Under load, hold the lever up and it won't change until you roll of the throttle enuf and the spring will pop the gear thru. Then the rider will realise what is happening. Hold the lever and unload the drive by selecting the correct throttle position. The advantage of not needing the clutch means you can hang on better. Clutch is just for getting rolling in first and selecting neutral. The clutch less method takes some time to get used to and longer to perfect. But it's way worth it if you want control for seamless power delivery thru gear changes for things like monos, turns, sliding, and spinning. Or better still able to change gears while doing all four at once.
Subbed
Nice video
The voice got me to subscribe lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Downshifting is so much fun
just got my first bike and shes N down 4 up, and i learned on a 1 down 4 up so its a lot to get used to
I did not understand how do we go faster when downshifting 😅
Downshifting in a motorcycle allows the engine to run at higher RPM, basically just more power to the wheels when you accelerate, engine works harder producing more torque and allowing the motorcycle to go faster.
Looking to get a Benelli. What should I know about them?
It was the most detailed explanation video I have ever seen, thank you.
experienced riders who have a stiff clutch lever flexing their jacked fingers
Nice bike bro
Thanks!
So when I take off on first gear is it like a car ? Do I have to hold the shifter (clutch) down and push the gas and then let go of the shifter (clutch) slowly and then once it’s going I can let go right ?
Hey Spunky, what do you think about Hondas DCT automatic bikes?
So when upshifting do you release the clutch first then give throttle or do both at the same time?
just a question form a newbie, why cant i just leave it at its highest clutch and just drive it like an automatic? also when coming to a stop at a light do i need to be at first/neutral?
Just got into riding shits fun I shoulda been did it a long time ago 😘
I'm just confused on how you clutchless down shift. When you "blip" it, do you cut the throttle like in a up shift?? Or do you blip so you get higher rpm's then down shift? Also I basically had the same question on revv matching wiht the clutch, cuase normally you'd cut the throttle and pull the clutch, are you saying to quickly add gas then clutch then down shift?
So if you’re in a gear like 5th or 6th, pushing down to downshift won’t put it into first?
Im still looking for the video where anybody explain if I do emergency breaking, like I am in 5th gear and I have to quickly break and stop … I pull breaks and clutch …
How to deal with down shifting ? I am still in 5th gear, ok I am save bike stopped… how to get to neutral from 5th when I had to emergency stop ?
Do you have to brake first or slow down during clutchless downshifting?
Hi mate,i Have a Honda Motorcycle of 2009 do you think i can Shift without the Clutch Cause im affraid i will Harm the Gearbox Cause it's Not A modern Machine i like to Shift Better,Sometimes When i Shift Gears I leave a bit of Revs so i need To Push & Release The Clutch Faster Like You Sad Im a bit Wondering if i can shift without the Clutch cause it is not a Modern bike.
When i tryed To Shift Without The Clutch i feel that the Gears Will Get Hard to Shift them without the Clutch.
Thank You For Sharing.
So is that why you don’t take all your finger off to pull the clutch??? Kinda like a friction zone indicator
Is this stuff more mellow on cruiser bikes ?
Shifty bro what if my motorcycle comes with a slipper clutch as well as a quickshifter right from the factory?
You can use the quick shifter, it’s actually a really nice feature to have! I recommend to use the clutch tho as well. Anyone that is a good rider always has great clutch control. Ride safe🤙🏻
Hey man are you ok, you haven’t posted in a few months and I can’t help but hope you didn’t get into an accident
Oh wow! You don't have to depress the clutch and engage the throttle at the same time like a car?! Or only for 1st gear?
I was getting so annoyed because my bike kept making that jerk after I would shift. Not a crazy jerk but the clutch engaging type of jerk. Good to know that your Gixxer does it as well. If I shift really fast it doesn't jerk as much but I just need to be faster. New levers, new friction point lol. Jerk isn't a bad thing though just feels like I'm breaking the bike
So that’s pretty normal when your learning to have some jerky shifts. As you become better with time, you’ll be much quicker and smoother on the controls, and that will result in ur shifts being faster and much smoother! Ride safe🏍️🤙🏻
@@SpunkyBoyy the shift itself is fine, it's just my throttle input. My bike hates closing and opening the throttle, I hear the rear hiss. I just need to be quicker with my throttle input so it doesn't hiss. It's hard to explain, I feel it in the bike, it's not a smooth input. I'm still working on it though
I have the same problem I feel like I'm hurting my baby and I feel so clumsy
What is the best way to go back into gear when I accidentally hit neutral at speed? Happened a few times, I try to rev match and put it into gear (1st or 2nd) depending on speed. But it almost always kicks in an ugly way.
pull the clutch and either try match the gear you were in, or go up an extra gear, personally i wouldnt try go any lower than the gear you were in when it slips, that can force a nasty engine break if your speed didnt reduce anough. by going to the same or higher gear you wont engine break as much, you will almost coast, and it will allow you to gain speed again, then once you feel the revs at that gear, adust, always eaier to adjust from a higher gear than a lower one. if revs are too low, then drop a gear. rather need to drop a gear after than have to shift back up while engine breaking hard
@@sk1ppy2000 thanks!
I definitely have the clutch in this scenario, but it still jolts the bike. The only thing that consistently works for me is to come to a stop and move it down into 1st...
It is easily replicated. Ride down the road and instead of shifting from 1-2 instead go to natural. Then try and go into anything from there....
That’s actually a great question! The bike does clunk a little bit when rolling in neutral and try and put the bike in gear. I usually just put in second with no throttle if that happens, but it does still clunk. I’d say try and avoid doing that if you can, but if u do it every now and then by mistake the bike will be fine.
@@SpunkyBoyy Always by mistake 💯
thank you 🤙 great content.
Why does my gear turn to neutral for no reason after I place my foot my on the lever; after shifting to gear 2??
* I didn't even engage the clutch.
Hey Spunky where could I get a Gixxer fairing kit to purchase (Not American)
You can find them a lot of different places, if you go on google and type in the fairings you want a bunch of options will come up.
Do you just got off engine noise or rpm gage
I wanna get a bike, but I dont even have my drivers license yet.... also idk where to look lol
I didn't know i dont have to pull the clutch all the way down when changing a gear!!
Mannn, I ain't tryna do all that. DCT it is.
Bum
It would be helpful if these shifting videos weren’t so dang fast while pulling clutch and rolling throttle
No "blimping the throttle" while down shifting?
Wait so when u close the throttle do u close it completely all the way or slightly
completely
Question. What should the RPMs stay at typically?
It just depends what ur trying to do..higher rpm’s are better for torque and acceleration, but you don’t want the rpm’s too high while cruising on the highway. So to summarize it’s about being in the right gear for the speed ur traveling. I hope that helps
I’m pretty decent at everything but slowing down & coming to a stop. Any advice?
Greet question! Apply some downshifts and use the engine to help slow you down. It will save ur brake pads and it’s just great to know for everyday riding! Good luck and ride safe🤙🏻🏍️
The hardest thing for me to do is go from 1st to 2nd I go into N
Preload shifter, helps push through N and avoids false neutrals
Are you saying to fully release the clutch before touching the gas? Won't that cause a stall?
You want to roll on the throttle as the clutch disengages. It seems like a lot, but with a little bit of practice you’ll have it down! Its normal to make some mistakes in the beginning, but when ur doing it right you’ll be able to tell by your shifts, they will feel really smooth. Hope that helps and good luck! 🏍️🤙🏻
1:10 goosebumps...
what year is that bike
