I recently had the Racingline Stage 1 (low torque version) added to my MK8 R, however, the turbo turbine blades cracked and destroyed the turbo. The car is only 2 months old from new. Sad times. Luckily Racingline paid for the replacement (as VW wouldn't cover it under warranty due to the tune) and installation. Not sure if it were a faulty part from factory, or it was the tune. Really hesitant to get remapped again.
That’s most likely due to a faulty part/turbo from the factory. A simple low torque Stage 1 tune shouldn’t blow a turbo like that. Turbo’s are new on the MK8’s, so ultimately everyone who has bought one have been guinea pigs on the testing and reliability aspect.
Can we buy the APR cable from you guys (APR remote tuning service). GO-APR US said to just purchase it through a UK APR dealer and book a tuning appointment with them
You can change the 'line pressure' which to help consumers understand who are used to manual clutches and how a performance pressure plate works, we use this term. Thanks for checking!
@@RegalAutosportso high torque file should by very strong and punchy in the mid range with even more Nm. Do You prefer APR Maps over racingline or are they comparable?
@seage81 ask around in golf or vw groups and you'll hear a different answer. If you actually look at your iat you'll see a huge difference when you upgrade the cooler
The tune doesn't impact the intercooler, the intercooler remains the same. However, the tune does increase the boost, which does mean the inlet temperature of the intercooler is higher, and outlet will be higher too. Not so much so that it makes a tangible difference to output though, especially in these conditions. Perhaps in summer where the ambient is already very high, there would be a performance benefit from a performance intercooler
This is faster than the MK7R, which did a sub 4 second 0-60 and 12 second 1/4 mile. And as we know, the MK8R makes more power and has a better rear diff for launches.
@@piotrwozniak7840 Is that on E85? Because there is a tuner that makes custom tunes and he also ran a 11.3 at 121 mph with that E85 tune only. Full weight on the street

That is what it makes... No idea on the TCU tune, it will be the same as everyone else - the software can be easily made. The communication protocol does not exist to extract or upload information to the TCU. Everyone in the industry uses the same tools, so once someone 'cracks' it or there is a leak, everyone will be able to do it at the same time.
These ea888 gen4 engines from a mk8 r pushing stage 3 will make similar power to a mk7 r with ea888 gen3. Its been done by mrc and hamza from his YT channel. Its the same block but with better flowing fuel pumps, turbo and maybe injectors
For now maybe, but as time progresses it will make more power than the ea888 gen3 mod4mod. Development is still kinda early and hybrid turbos have only released from European based companies on early revisions.
I had the same question, because Ive looked at graphs of Dynos and APR website about the data with their state 1 tune, as well as what VW rates the power at. I am always wondering if they are speaking in terms of crank or wheel power? Isn’t crank equivalent to brake HP?
I'm all for the Mk8. Only way I'd consider one would be getting rid of the haptic touch button mess, the complex info menus. The aesthetics of the car got to be a tad too soft in the fascia design but not terrible.
Impressive from stock no wonder it trounces so many cars in its class.
