USB 3.0 pen drive thermal profile

The video shows a 32GB USB 3.0 pen drive after starting up with temperature rising from 22C to 45C. It records 15 minutes and replays in 25X speedup by taking a frame every second. The temperature is taken from the case. It is noteworthy that the pen drive is heated up even without user file transfer, an outcome not surprising considering the composition of an eSATA controller with a DDR2 SDRAM. The video was taken in the IR Thermography Lab, Information and Communications Research Laboratories (ICL), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI).
