Actual Apple Card update at 5:19. 5% daily cash back on up to $20k in total travel spend, and up to $6k in total dining spend depending on your Apple Care payment method. Only for targeted users.
Thanks so much for this straight to the point.
Right, only for targeted users, and not 100% accurate. Actually there are three offers out there: 5% in dining, 5% in travel or, shown in the video, 5% in both categories. Some users only got the dining offer, some others (including me) only got the travel offer and some more got both offers (this last case is the one shown in the video).
thank god i dont wanna hear him recap a card ive had for years
@@aba792000I didn’t get either 🥲
gods work
Still waiting for international rollout…
Yeah what’s that all about. I’m in the UK. Still waiting.
lol I know right!🤷🏻♂️
It’s unlikely to ever happen. Or at least, not any time in the near future.
It’s not gonna happen
@@ColtonBlumhagenand why?
For people that are watching this video and considering an Apple Card, it has lots of perks, but please know it has a high APR! I use the card for all my purchases to maximize the savings account, and pay it off each month. I have excellent credit and my APR is still 21%! This is the highest APR of any card I’ve had, and apparently can’t be requested to lower. So if you get this card, make sure to pay your balance!
Most cards have rather high APRs these days. I worked for AMEX and most of their cards started at 18% APR, with a lot of people being given APRs at the higher end.
I started at 13%. It has going up every since.
Mine is 27%! It’s also the highest APR of any of my cards and I pay it off every month, too. I saw some people say that if you barely use it, they’ll lower your APR to encourage you to use it more. I tried that for ~6 months and no change so I started using it only for iTunes/App Store and Apple in general.
We had a Chase card at just over 30%. Insane. We literally destroyed our Chase cards and went 100% checking/debit for 2 years to get things paid off and just last year got an apple card. The main reason was our debit card number kept getting stolen (3 times in nearly 1 year).
Well it's not just the CC, it's literally everything. Interest rates are high af
It's dope to see cards update like technology.
Good info I’m sitting here watching videos on the Apple Card don’t have an Apple Card yet but your video just pushed me to getting one so I’m jump and get it. ❤👍🏾🤞🏾
I was just mentioning to my friend that I noticed a few 5% cash backs on my card and didn’t know why. Thanks for explaining.🐬
Really cool how this product evolved over the past few years... Especially the fact it's still only available in the US...
But nice to know the other side of the ocean gets an incredible deal with Apple Card and Apple Cash and here in the EU we get none of that
Thanks for the update … I hadn’t noticed the 5% that I began receiving for dining/fast food starting last Monday (8/21). 🐬
Excellent info, mate! I've used my Apple card to buy 3 iPad Pros and my MacBook Air all with zero interest charges. Glad to see Apple making their card even better for their customers.
do you think its worth it to get the apple card just to use for the 0 interest purchases with apple?
`
@@sule_lol8960 Apple purchases are the only reason I have the card. Can't beat 0% interest.
@@sule_lol8960nooo I use my Apple Card almost daily! 2% cash back as long as you use Apple Pay is pretty decent! Gas, groceries, and sometimes misc items. The Apple Card is just a good card to have.
@@sule_lol8960yes
@@sule_lol8960 It depends. If you ever want to pay off the balance early, they don't allow you do to that. The way it works is that once you buy with the 0% option, they just hit your apple card with a monthly charge for the device. If you are making other purchases on the card, you are still on the hook for any accrued finance charges on your balance so, in theory, if you keep your monthly balance zeroed out, it's a true 0% interest charge but if you have anything left over, you get slapped with the 21% interest.
My biggest issue is that if I want to sell my iphone before the 24 month payoff, I don't think I can since it's still got a balance attached to it. If I had just put the full cost of the phone on my card, yeah I would have eaten some finance charges but I could have had the option to pay it off much quicker (which I am capable of doing financially but apple offers no way to do this).
I have the same desk lamp as you. Works great as a webcam light as it reaches over my monitor and allows you change color brightness and temp.
Where can you buy it and what is it called?
Hey Fernando another great presentation I am definitely interested in the Apple Card. Thank you again. 🐬
I have an Apple Card but haven’t been targeted for any of these elevated offers, most likely because I haven’t used it for anything but financing large Apple purchases at 0% interest
Lol fr they gave me a limit at 1k
I use mine for Apple purchases only. Word to the wise, use the Advanced Fraud Protection button and lock this card when not in use. Don’t learn the hard way like I did.
What happened
@@Ghostlore In June I had 9 charges on my Apple Card that I didn’t make. From what I was told by Apple customer support was they were for apps. My card was hacked and she told me there was another account on my card. She said there has been a lot of that going on. She said they would make a determination on those charges and if they were found not to be mine, I would get a refund.
I did get refunded from Apple from those 9 charges. No mention of replacement of my card.
So I did enable fraud protection. But reading about that the 3 numbers and the only 1000 combinations of the 3 digits, I decided to just lock the card.
This happened again this week with one charge trying and failing to get approved, thanks to the fraud protection number rotation. I absolutely need a new card!
I also made an adjustment of payments to come from PayPal and not my Credit Union when a payment is due on my card.
I did change my iCloud password after the bogus charges in June.
In retrospect, I have used my Apple Card for other charges not from the Apple Store but not many. According to what I’ve read about the card, the retailer never has the actual card number. The customer service person had no idea how it happened.
Sorry for the long response.
You can also rotate your security code. Great feature.
True! About Europe, I was there in May and I was very surprised that even street vendors were taking ApplePay 👍🏼 the previous time I was in Europe in 2020 it wasn’t like that, so that’s a LOT of progress in two years if you ask me 💡
Great info
Great info! 🐬
Great video, thank you! I’m currently using my MGM card for everything in August, since I’m getting 5% back on everything. Just created a reminder to switch to my Apple Card September 1st. 🐬
Love it!
You have any informations when Apple card comes to Germany?
I hope Apple hears the feedback about notifying customers that did get this offer with like even a red badge notification like you would in any other app on the Wallet app. Email notification etc. I saw this on Reddit and then I checked my card right after booking flight and Airbnb and rental car.I will check my other two credit cards but I did not check my Apple card because I didn’t think there was an offer available. Luckily though I was able to update my card info on a couple things. Get that sweet extra cash back. I hope Apple continues to do more of this with the Apple card.
Meanwhile I heard about it, but didn’t realize it was targeted and used my Apple Card to book a hotel stay expecting 5%, but it’s only 1%. I’ve had the card for years and never got anything special like this. How does choosing only some people for this (and apparently not even properly notifying them that they’ve been chosen) encourage use? I’d have used a card that gets me miles instead of just 1% cash back 😤🙄
@@LennyPelullo totally agree. Even after I saw the banner notification now it’s gone and whatnot I accidentally dismissed it now I don’t know what the details of when, how, what, where? They need to be better about this for sure
I turned o. Email notifications like someone suggested and had another offer today about adding co-owner and participants to the card… no email.
I have an account but never received a card, must look into this. Thanks for the info.
You have to request a physical card. You don’t need it hopefully if you ever need to use just use one of your other cards that gives more points. Physical card 1 percent back, no need if you have other cards
Wow crazy. I didn't see this offer though.
amazing video, the sound on the tv is a bit lower just in case{ on max volume}
thanks for the heads up
Cool desk lamp. Could you please share what is the brand?
TaoTronics LED Desk Lamp with USB Charging Port Dimmable Forward Beam Technology
Man I love that 4.15% apy on my savings plus the 1,2,3% cash back adds up
Capital one has 4.30%
I would get one if know more, but also so very helpful.🐬
For some reason, I didn’t get that offer. I use my card for all my Apple Store and App Store purchases and a few convenience store purchases but that’s it. I would use it for all dining and travel if I was getting 5% back.
"This commercial brought to you by Apple, Inc." (Yes, I have an Apple Card).
great info: I have a ipadpro - wallet app does not show up on the home screen or in the apps library. how can I get the wallet app on my ipad home screen
I didn’t get the offer. If I had to say it would probably be because I only really use it to finance my purchases from Apple like iPhones and iPads and stuff. I have a car dedicated to my every day purchases at 1.5% and a card dedicated for my bills and other auto pay stuff at 2%. But when I do use Apple Pay and the Apple Card it’s nice to see things like the location of the merchant, a picture of the front of the business, and so forth. Thanks for the video.
They have got to have some sort of benefit to using the titanium card. So stupid that it’s one of the most beautiful and well built cards and it’s essentially a lemon
I was in central Europe this year and outside of the cities, you can expect to pay cash. However, I also went to Australia and I never converted a single dollar in five weeks. I used Apple Pay everywhere including street vendors.
I didn’t get the 5% offer, but I only got my Apple Card a few months ago. Probably for more tenured card holders.
Thanks for the info, I have had Apple card for months now and I am thinking of using Apple Savings as my direct deposit for my next job. Still thinking.
Is there a way to make Apple Card the default payment in Music? I have a small balance from a gift card and wonder if it will ask once that is depleted. 🐬
5% promo not showing up in mine :(
Have Apple Card and love it. Try to use it as much as possible. 🐬
any card that's no fee is a keeper card..
Life-long iPhone user that switched to android a year ago. Apple pay is the one feature that keeps me hanging on to my iPhone.
not going to lie when i went too the states in 2019 and had to use chip and pin and sign i felt like a caveman
I wonder if the deal varies for different users. I have 6% Daily Cash at Panera on up to $500 through August 31. I wonder if it's based on user spending habits.
I doubt it because I have never spent or eaten at Panera bred and have that offer 😂
@@d3annar0cksitt. but perhaps you show a shopping tendency that would cause them to steer you in that direction.
I believe so I got this card for my teenage boys and they told me about this. Also it maybe for ppl with high credit limits because my friend said hers didn’t have it but mine does. So I thought maybe anyone with a limit over 10,000 and up because my friend limit is 5,000 and mine is a lot higher. I am wondering as well because I try to control these 2 idiot twins of mine. They are all about the points. I didn’t realize that Apple would give out such high limits
Where in Europe did you go? I’m going to Portugal in November and was wondering if tap-to-pay Apple Pay works there and in other countries. I might go to Eastern Europe too and hopefully that works there as well. I never have cash with me.
Portugal, like most of Europe (including Eastern Europe) has contactless in most places. Europe is far ahead of the US in this, but his comment that cash doesn’t exist in Europe is very exaggerated.
When it’s coming to Canada
how do you get money into the Apple card? and if I use Apple Pay but with another card, do I also get the cash-back or it's only for when I pay with the Apple card?
Right that’s what I want to know as well 😅
Been waiting four years for Apple Cash and Apple Card to release in Australia and New Zealand
Where do you see the savings account I only see the Apple Card or Apple Cash
I applied for an Apple Card while I was hammered. I meant to sign up for apple pay hahahah
T mobile just dropped being able to use apple pay as an option, I had to update to a visa to keep autopay.
Yes I have an Apple card. I try to pay everything through it.
Weird that the main banner photo of the Apple Card page still shows an iPhone 11.
I wish we had this card in Canada
Walmart needs to get with the program
What’s interest rate?
If it was available in Canada I’d apply. 😢
How do you set up Apple savings account
There is still an APR (which can be higher that others), probably should have mentioned that for some that aren't used to credit cards. There will be fees if you don't pay off the card every month which about 50% of people or more probably don't do.
Is that like American Express?
Those are not fees they are interest rates 2 completely different things for your research son
And last I looked the interest on my Apple Card is 20%. Interest can compound quickly if you don't make significant monthly payments.
2% just doesn’t cut it when other cards give you 3% on food and groceries without using tap
Did not work on carnival cruise line
I only have the 5% cash on Travel only not dinning
Unfortunately, still not available in Australia
Sound a good deal . I buy gas everyday for my job and i used capital one with 1.5 miles per dollar. I might get apple for 2 % on everything 🐬
It’s 2% on things that accept Apple Pay! Just wanted to clarify that!
@@9to5Macbasically almost everywhere!
My Apple Card always loses its magnetic strip and can’t swipe it anywhere. 🤦♂️
$0 fees but Apple Card is one of the first to charge me interest if u don’t pay in full so I always make sure to pay or else
wait yall just started apple pay, in europe we’ve had contactless readers almost everywhere for many years
I hope the Apple Card comes to the uk
I’m in the UK and really want an Apple Card… just because I’m an Apple geek 😅😂🐬
Is there 2% cash back on online Apple Pay purchases? Or just in person
Online counts too!
@@9to5Mac Thanks for the video and reply. I applied for the card love the interface and ease of use.
Apple pay is all over Europe and so convenient. For some reason the save does not populate on my App. Any idea why?
it might depend on the iOS version you are on. trying updating
and yet still Walmart doesn’t have tap pay so no Apple Pay
In Japan we gave up. Can’t even get News+ or Fit+, figures a credit card 👺
9:10 I"m an American living in The Netherlands and while we are basically cash-less and everywhere accepts NFC payments (including ApplePay), Germany is still quite cash-oriented and cash is still popular there. So yes, NFC/tap payments are quite popular around most of Europe, but cash does still exist.
I love it when Americans go to one or two countries in Europe and then extrapolate what happened there to all of Europe. I basically never use cash (I live in CR), but my partner does. Of course Europe in general is way ahead of the US in contactless (and has been for years), but yeah, like you said Germany is still very into cash.
Cashless is not always good.
When I click on the three dots, I don’t even get a drop down menu. What’s up with that? 🐬
Yes I have the Apple Card 🐬
Apple card it’s not works in my country in georgia and why?
Thanks. Would you recommend adding my spouse as a co-owner to my card, or just a participant user?
Co owner would mean they have the ability to make changes and have full controll and user lets you dictate rules and add limitations. So thats up to you
Do you think adding as a co owner affects the credit limit? I guess it would depend on whether they eval the co owner's credit score...maybe@@9to5Mac
Co-Owner works well for my wife and me … as it contributes to her credit score
Wait so what is the actual “update”?
Nothing. Just apparently an advertisement and waste of 10 minutes
Hi, can you do a video about migrating from a MacBook Air, to a iPad Pro? I am a writer for a living, so I'm concerned about not having the full desktop experience of MS word, I also use photoshop a lot, but I think the differences are minimal now. Let me know.
Ill try and give that a go. But my number one piece of advice. Is make sure you save everything into OneDrive. That way it can be easily accessible on iPad. Since you are a write I am assuming you do not go very indepth with excel? (i could be very wrong about that though!). If you only need basic excel then the rest of the microsoft suite is amazing on the iPad. I will try and make a video about this thoug!
What’s excel 😅 OK, I really don’t use XL that much. But I use a lot of the format. Features in word, that aren’t normally used. This includes, end notes and footnotes, the use of comments for team collaboration, the track changes, citations an bibliography.
Interesting
🔥
How much is the transaction fee to use Apple Pay?
$0.00 💳
I didn’t get the offer. I guess they know I’m so poor that I won’t be traveling any time soon.
Upgrade bank gives you 5.07%
It would be the perfect card if I didn’t have to manually enter the transactions into my financial management software. That part really sucks.
9:10 Cashless societies aren’t necessarily an “advanced” or “progressive” ideal. However, they are beneficial for governments because then there is no privacy (who needs it anyway) and it’s easy to track and/or deny purchases. Cuba, EU, China (none of which are a bastion of freedom let’s say) all have a limit for cash purchases (not even just withdrawals). And China (and eventually the rest of the world) tries to have the cash expire after a certain amount of unused time. However, peoples’ laziness (have you ever seen modern cashiers try to do change? Their ineptitude is embarrassing) but convenience wins over wisdom oftentimes.
Still no roll out in 🇬🇧
Still waiting for pay later to rollout to everyone
Overspending is exactly the problem with all rebates. Even for 5% - which is small rebate for any merchant, many people will buy stuff they would not buy otherwise. If something costs $950 instead of $1000, people have that irrational fear of the extra $50 they have to pay if they wait too long. If that cheap psycho trick would not work, there would not be any rebates. Sadly most people think they are smarter than the rest and do not spend more that they otherwise would have spent. Those are the same people that think they are immune to ads.
In the end we consumers will have to pay for all those rebates anyway. They are already factored into the initial price calculation. No merchant will give away money.
I always warn people against collection points for upgrades on flights. The benefit you get is just sitting more comfortable for a few ours, but in oder to get those points most people will spend more than without that incentive. Otherwise that point system would not exist.
Well some of us use credit only and pay off every month in full. So it does benefit some depending on your income but hopefully ppl with high limits get those high limits because they are responsible and have the capability of paying it all back. I do understand life happens as well but if you save with interest you will have something to fall back on.
Where did you go in Europe that no one was using cash? Portugal this summer, most places refused amex, did not have apple pay available outside large grocery stores or shopping malls.
I was in Madrid, Barcelona and London. I didnt even exchange for euros or pounds cuz i realized i didnt need it
@@9to5Mac that’s awesome. I guess if you’re just in the big cities it makes sense. We drove around to see family and traveled inside Portugal and some smaller restaurants and stores only have a card reader for European cards. So we always carry cash just in case.
To only limited people is ridiculous
dolphin!
5 minutes of rambling just to actually get to the point. Thanks for the sponsored ad
Savings Account does not beat inflation. It trims your loses
I love my Apple Card and my Apple savings. However what I don’t like is the fact that you only can access to the account of you have an iPhone. I should be able to access my savings acc from anywhere I want to.
Hmmm .. its an Apple Savings account. What would motivate Apple to enable you to access the account outside the Apple “ecosystem” of products and offerings?
Just came back from a trip to Toronto, 100% of the places I ate at brought the card machine to the table. 🇺🇸 is behind.
yup. I went to Spain last week. Any they bring you the machine right to you. I really like it
I guess i weren't in Germany or Austria 😅
Wow, I'd like that Travel and Dining bonus, but all they are giving me is 5% on gasoline and EV charging. Gee thanks, Apple, I do have an EV, but I charge at home mostly. LOL
I’m pretty sure the Apple Card is the first thing that you get money for using and does not have some sort of fee lol 😂
No, there are many cash-back credit cards with no annual fees. Just as one example, I’ve been using the Citi Double Cash Back card for years before getting an Apple Card, and it’s free to use, and provides 2% back on all purchases (whether you’re using the card or number or Apple Pay).
Please let me know.
So if I just want the Apple saving account I can just get the Apple Card and never use it , because I only want it for the savings. Thank you!
Technically yes, you can do that
Awww I don’t have the special offer. Boooooo!😂
Didn’t get the 5%… which means this card still isn’t worth it for me.
Reason I obtained a Apple Card was to open the Goldman Sachs Savings account with 4.15 APY. Switch to this card as my default cad in Apple Pay. This process I feel could've been made easier by having an in your face make this my default card when you pull up any other cards.
When I added at first it was at the top under all the other cards. Was not until I had to switch to this card every time I when to use Apple Pay did I notice it was using the card at the bottom which was on top of the stack. All that I had to do was drag the card from the top to the bottom on top to make it the default card.
