My favorite thing to do for when guests come over is have fresh cookies. So basically, every time I make homemade cookies, I make a double batch. I roll it all into balls and freeze half the balls. Then you can just pull them out as needed! I've been doing it since high school 😊

You show so many yummy things, so I decided to go through your recipes that you have shared with us. The beginning of fall (or tail end of summer) is the perfect time to search for new things...especially for anything pumpkin! 🙂 You are so uplifting and seeing Evonnie helping you in the kitchen really warms my heart. How beautiful it will be!!!
Just the advice of a chef for many years. I don't want to sound bossy. What I do with my wooden boards is one side is designated for Meat and Fish the other side is designated for produce. Keeps it more sanitary that way
Actually I have a different plastic board for meat and wood board for fruit and veggies. If only one board you could label with freezer tape on each side stating what each side is used for.

Praying for you! I too have had to set boundaries with my parents and it is so hard, trying to be a good child of God, honoring my parents as a Christian, but also setting boundaries as a human. Hugs!
You inspire me to be a better mom. I love how much you have Evonnie help you at home. My daughter is only 6 months old, but I plan on having her help out when she's old enough.
Love when I see a new video pop up from you, Megan! I always take away a little inspiration, whether it’s mom related, styling or a recipe. You are a breath of fresh air and you have Jesus radiating from you. We need more moms/women/believers like you on YT! Thank you for all your hard work, it’s is loved and appreciated!❤️❤️❤️
I wish I meal planned more but my family rarely eats a meal together. My husband is an ER doc and works all over the place in regards to hours and then it is only me and my 9 month old. So I will make a nice dinner or what not when my husband is actually able to eat with me, but otherwise I just go for something quickly for myself and my husband eats at the hospital for free when he has a chance for a quick break out of the ER. But I am an avid baker of breads, French pastry, etc. so I always have baked goods on hand for guests (and my husband often takes things to the hospital for staff). I also always have pasta and taco stuff for easy quick meals in case I need them for guests. If people are not stopping by around mealtime, I always have cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, and fruit on hand.
Always have butter and sugar and flour for all of my baking! I usually trade baked goods with neighbors for their produce they are growing in their garden. And then it’s usually frozen meat, eggs, rice and pasta we always have in the pantry. So helpful when we can only really go grocery shopping about once a month
I like having a fully stocked pantry and fridge. It's satisfying when I realize that I need something, I open the cupboard, and there it is. My mother grew up in the Great Depression, so we always had a full pantry. I guess that's where I got it from.
I was always the other way and loved to an almost empty and very organized fridge ready to stock up on grocery day. But I'm starting to go the other way a little more. It's good to be prepared!
@@MeganFoxUnlocked yes! I've gone through periods of time where it was like a challenge to see how many meals I could make with what little I had left in stock. lol. It was satisfying to do that, too. But in these uncertain times, I think it's wise to stock up when possible so that I'm prepared. You just don't know what's around the corner.
I've learned that growing up with my grandparents. We always had beans in the pantry. They grew up on ham and beans. So that was there go to if money was tight. I'm kind of the same way myself. Beans, pasta, and rice are fully stocked. We don't eat much of it, but it's good to have when money is tight or you are under quarantine!! It's important to have things for emergencies.
I loved your comments how you can get in and out of Aldi....because we know the layout. I am 72 and a trip to Aldi gets me out of the house 🏠. I was laughing and telling my daughter how quick my trip would be.. When I walked in....the whole store layout had been changed... and it was like a hunt for lost puzzle pieces....❤
Agreed, lol ...FALL is THE best time of all year! Gorgeous trees leaves, fall smells of pumpkin, spices, cooler weather & best holiday, Halloween, which our fam & friends love. Loved your quick & kids friendly pumpkin filled cupcakes ...great idea of filling!
This video gave me a push to start prepping again! It’s way past due.....5 kids, working, and homeschooling. It..is...time! Those muffins look delicious!
@@marianne57 I like, but am not in love with, pumpkin spice. I just found a recipe (on Natalie Bennett's most recent fall coffee video) for making your own coffee creamer; pecan pie flavor! I cannot wait to make this. 😋
Hi Megan, Love your You Tube Channel! You and your family a such a wonderful Christian encouragement not only to my precious family but to so many throughout our wonderful world. I love that you encourage, inspire and share God’s Word with so many. It is such a wonderful blessing. For that I thank you! I also love your ideas and tips for cooking delicious meals for your family! Cooking is something that I love to do for my family also! Much love and God Bless from our family to yours from Australia xxx
I love how you comment as you go through your fridge! usually you just hear music playing over the video, but I like to hear what you are thinking when you are organizing! makes it more unique and fun! "Mmm! cheez-its!" you are too cute! 😊😊
Avacado put in paper bag and store it the pantry for a day or two. Also if you have plain cheese pizza you can add your own toppings with what you have at home veggies. Cream cheese and hot sauce mix together
Thank you for sharing your recipes and for taking the time to post them. So nice of you! I try to keep basic staples on hand along with some good cuts of meat.
I have been binge watching your videos all week!! I LOVE anything you post. Seeing how you interact with your family and the way you carry yourself is something I truly admire
I love Aldi’s, too! So ready for this change of season to make soups, stews and breads. You inspired me to work on my grocery list for a Monday pick up!
While you were driving I could not help but admire all the beautiful land , houses, and barns 😍! I can't wait to make those cupcakes thanks for sharing 😋!
In my pantry for emergency pop up meals or unexpected guests, I always keep two cans of salmon on hand to whip up salmon patties and a couple sides that I can usually find on hand frozen or in the can. Also two envelops of Bear creek brand potato cheddar soup ( it’s delicious ) and I’ll add some baked or fried cornbread with that and it will feed several in a pinch. Love the tall tan/gold cup you have on your counter with the straw in it, It looks insulated. Would you care to please share where you got it ? Also love your videos. I always look forward to seeing what you have to share each week. I have gotten so many useful ideas, tips and recipes since I’ve been watching you. Thank you for the great content !
Bear creek brand is my favorite go to! I always have extra packets/pouches(?) of their chili in my pantry! You just need tomato paste to make it which I always have.
September has always been my favourite month. I see it as more my New Year than January. Especially this year. Ours kids are back in school in my area and I've been baking and canning and just spending some much needed time deep cleaning and, frankly, relaxing. It really feels like a new start this year.
@@MeganFoxUnlocked Thank you! Yes, this year I have really treated September as a refresh and restart to look at our family's priorities and really focus on building community. It's so important right now. As you said it in your video - we are all a little tribe!
We don’t have company often and none in the last 6 months. But we do keep staple meal items in the house at all times. For example, last week we had our favorite one pot pasta and used up the last of our sauce. It’s not on our menu this week but we stocked back up and got 3 jars of sauce this week anyway. That meal is something we often do at the last minute. I shop at Aldi too! For me and my husband we nearly never spend more than $60/week. This week was right around $40. We shop our fridge/pantry/freezer first like you do. Then Aldi first and only the “regular” store if Aldi doesn’t have it or it’s a rare thing we just like name brand of.
hey! A tip you can maybe use... as far as looking up recipes and wanting to look back quickly- I use paper clips to mark my pages. I keep a few attached to the back cover and use them when I want to mark a page. Works great!
Wow! Thank you for this video! It’s amazing how you can be so busy yet your house, fridge,... are so in order! What tool (s) would you suggest to help a busy mommy/ entrepreneur : any favourite app/calendar/ method? Thank you so much!!
What I keep on hand... a lot. 🤣😂 Ice creams, sprinkles, cones, and syrups. Tatertot casserole, chickenetti, and cherished memory casserole fixings. Canned and frozen veggies. Sandwich fixings. You never know when you will need an emergency meal. Handy for when folks move into the neighborhood, a baby is born or a death occurs. ❤ Yes, Wal-Mart is tricky with little ones, for sure. Aldi is amazing. 🤣
As mom of 4 I learned that to never cook in the front of two burner . i always used the back two burner . You will never know if they are around or not while you are cooking .
I like to can pepper jam, super easy to spoon some over cream cheese and serve with crackers. Canned salsa too this fall. Pretzels to dip in honey mustard. Some chocolate (Quick) milk for the grandkids.
After shopping at Aldi for 8 years we recently moved to where the closest one is 70 miles and my family's grocery budget literally DOUBLED! Living vicariously through your Aldi haul 😆
I always keep a few boxes of yellow cake mix. It's super versatile. You can whip up cookies, muffins, fancy pancakes and of course, a cake for company.
I absolutely adore your children they are just so sweet and cute I myself love 2year old chatter lov love your vlogs I’m not minnanite but I dress like you do love your sewing vlogs too keep creating your great parents I’m a grandma and great grandma God bless you all will keep you all in my prayers
Fun video- I liked tagging along for your shopping trip. I miss America so that's fun for me to see outside the country. For my shopping list I actually have a list of all the basic ingredients I buy, listed in the order I come to them in the store. I keep this on my fridge and check what I need- it's just nice and fast- I don't have to write much out (maybe just a special ingredient or two)- just print out a stack of these lists from time to time. That also might be extra but it's easy and works for me!
I usually like to keep ingredients for homemade tomato soup. It's one of my favorites. So easy and only 3 ingredients. Then I can serve up with grilled cheese or whatever kind of sandwich stuff I have at the time. Although now I haven't had kids yet so it is just my husband and I. It is pretty easy to have someone over on the fly since most recipes are for at least 4 servings
We have random guests often and if its family then its a big group of people so I keep: Ice cream, brownies, frozen pizzas and ingredients for spaghetti, frozen garlic bread, and charcuterie board ingredients 😁
Yes!! I dont mind recipes from short blogs but seems lately a lot of blogs are going to a lifetime story before getting to the recipe. At least leave a "jump to recipe" hyperlink at the top 😆
We like to have trail mix and Chex mix on hand as well as a veggie tray. And Ya Fall is my favorite!!! Here in Tx we anxiously await cooler weather after a long hot summer!!
Not much planning for meals ahead of time. My ref and freezer is full so whatever the man of the house wants to eat, he is a very picky eater. Always have to check with him about what he wants, he and I are diabetic so we are more challenged. Love this kind of video
I always keep canned sliced peaches and boxed super moist yellow cake mix so I can make a dump cake. You dump the whole can of sliced peaches in a cake pan (including the juice) and cut them up in smaller pieces, sprinkle the dry cake mix on top of the peaches (don't mix), cut up a stick of butter in little pieces and place on top of the cake mix. Bake at 350 until done. Top with cool whip; it's amazing. You can also do variations using pineapple, cherries or whatever canned fruit that you'd like just not the pie filling as you need the juice.
We don't have back-up food for uninvited guests, because here in the Netherlands groceryshops are so close! If you really don't have anything to serve them, you go to the store on your bike (or car/walking) and be home within 10-15 minutes
Something I just learned to cut out all the ads on a recipe’s website, there is a “print recipe” button. Click that, and it creates a nice ad/clutter free summary!
I have always loved to pretend to have fall, I'm from the deep South and boy is it sad how little we actually get a fall DAY even. But, in my mind, fall is amazing!! Hahah! P.S. I have been subscribed to your channel for over a year now and just realized that I ALWAYS find myself staring at your farm like enviromment in the backgrounds of your driving segments. When my niece and great-nieces and nephew cones 5 1/2 hours up to see me, i make sure i always have cheese sticks, juice boxes, chips and candy. Yes i spoil them but i'm older and have no kids myself.
Cutting board: 1 part bees wax to 12 parts mineral oil. The bees wax is antibacterial and provides a barrier. You’ll have to melt the wax to the oil. I love that you use scissors for food! We do to! So easy!
Yep. I could do FALL year round. Just love it. I bake Pumpkin Spice and Zucchini Breads in the Fall. Evonnie is going to be a baker, I think. She watches so intently. Love her little red pigtail. Too cute!
I shop at Aldi almost every week here in Dublin, Ireland. So fun to see what products Aldi US stocks, it’s quite different to here! I love when you do a grocery haul.
Yes! Very inspiring! I used a journal this week to make my grocery list in the order of my favorite store. And I also put in a Sams club order, a true lifesaver. I am planning to make the sloppy joes and the cupcakes!
You need to get mineral oil (off Amazon too) for your wooden cutting boards. Use it once a month to keep them from drying out. If you don't get them too dirty, just crumbs or apple from slicing, I just rinse mine and won't use soap.
FYI: The low grade mineral oils are considered toxic, but food grade mineral oils are highly refined and safe for use in the food industry. However, I still avoid this product. My cutting boards are fine without it. Just never soak the board. The water gets in the pores and damages the wood.
Great video Megan. Always love your cooking videos & recipes. I wish we had an Aldi where I live. I love their animal crackers even as an adult! Thank you for sharing.
I tried your recipe for pumpkin cheesecake cupcakes and had enough batter to make a small cake too. They were super yummy but I’m not the greatest at making cupcakes.I tend to fill them up too much and then they get really misshaped and quite ugly! I wanted to tell you how amazing this recipe was as a cake though!! I made some homemade cream cheese frosting to top it off and oh my goodness!!My family devoured it and my husband isn’t even a huge fan of pumpkin. I will be making that recipe again for sure!
Try this recipe: 1 box spice cake mix, make as usual except replace one cup of the water called for with a can of pumpkin. They are so yummy, sometimes I add chocolate chips too. Makes good muffins.
I always look forward to your videos. I could be your grandma, but am learning organizational skills from you. I have never been good at that. I raised three daughters and somehow we survived though. 😊

I always keep a few boxes of yellow cake mix. It's super versatile. You can whip up cookies, muffins, fancy pancakes and of course, a cake for company.
What a great idea to make your own meal planning pages! The pendant lights over counter are beautiful.
Yes I really like them! They don't actually show dust like I thought they would!
We like frozen chocolate chips for a cold, sweet treat too!😋
I love the fabulosa. It smells so good. Think you will like it.
Dip ingredients & canned apple pie filling for apple crisp & icecream
I love your filming style! So fun to watch
Oh and thanks for the great recipes too! I love that you post them in the description box below 💜
Fall is the best its just not long enough. 🍂🍃🌿
We have random guests often and if its family then its a big group of people so I keep: Ice cream, brownies, frozen pizzas and ingredients for spaghetti, frozen garlic bread, and charcuterie board ingredients 😁
Seriously, I don’t understand why the recipes are so far down the blog posts 😆 pet peeve of mine. Lol
Same here! I think its so that they can put more ads that people have to see. But it drives me bananas!
Yes!! I dont mind recipes from short blogs but seems lately a lot of blogs are going to a lifetime story before getting to the recipe. At least leave a "jump to recipe" hyperlink at the top 😆
It’s for SEO, if the blog post doesn’t have enough words, search engines (Google) will bury it
You are CRUSHING it Meagan!
I make the same kind of muffins but use applesauce instead of eggs. Totally love all the recipes. I am going to try a few!
We like to have trail mix and Chex mix on hand as well as a veggie tray. And Ya Fall is my favorite!!! Here in Tx we anxiously await cooler weather after a long hot summer!!
Found this super interesting and helpful I would love to see you do more of these! Also yes, I love fall😊
Meal planning/prepping is the biggest problem for me.... I needed this inspiration! Thanks so much!
Love fall too ! Those muffins look delicious thanks for all the tips for shopping at Aldi ,Teresa in mn
Fall is my favorite time of year!
Megan, I’m so excited for you to reach 100k!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ you’re my favorite youtuber and I can’t wait to celebrate 🎈🎈🎈🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊
This is one of my favorite types of videos! Thank you!
I'm so glad! Share it with a friend!
Something I just learned to cut out all the ads on a recipe’s website, there is a “print recipe” button. Click that, and it creates a nice ad/clutter free summary!
Always we have some chips and dips at home, also popcorn. 😁
Thank you for wearing a mask and taking care of you and other people around you!!! 🌸
That is an amazing grocery price. I’m in Alaska and that is easily more than twice the money here. Thank you for the ideas!
It would be SO amazing if you showed us what it looks like through the seasons where you're from, like those gorgeous corn fields!! Aghhh! So beautiful, I vote for nature walk/adventuring videos in the future!!!!
Love this idea! I need a drone don't I!
@@MeganFoxUnlocked Hahah, yes!!!! Show us PA! My husband and I stayed in Carlisle once on our journey up to Boston and from what we saw of PA, it seemed so dreamy!
We do to! So easy!
The low grade mineral oils are considered toxic, but food grade mineral oils are highly refined and safe for use in the food industry.
Yep. I could do FALL year round. Just love it. I bake Pumpkin Spice and Zucchini Breads in the Fall. Evonnie is going to be a baker, I think. She watches so intently. Love her little red pigtail. Too cute!
I absolutely love fall! If every month was October I would not complain.
I just love your energy. You make me want to get up and get moving.
I shop at Aldi almost every week here in Dublin, Ireland. So fun to see what products Aldi US stocks, it’s quite different to here! I love when you do a grocery haul.
Glad to meet another mom who eats chocolate chips from the freezer 🤣🤣🤣. Autumn in Québec is awesome - my favourite season.
Really!? I'm not alone!?!
Yes! Very inspiring! I used a journal this week to make my grocery list in the order of my favorite store. And I also put in a Sams club order, a true lifesaver. I am planning to make the sloppy joes and the cupcakes!
Thanks Megan great video, fall here in Ohio,62 this morning decorating for fall, cute things at Dollar Tree, they go fast though. God bless
@@dawn7612 yes! Thank you for adding Food Grade mineral oils. 👍🏻
Great video Megan. Always love your cooking videos & recipes. I wish we had an Aldi where I live. I love their animal crackers even as an adult! Thank you for sharing.
Your daughter is aborable and smart! I saw her clean up those chocolate chips quick lol! Shes great!
