Grocery shopping with kids is one of the best learning experiences. You can talk about so many things. Shapes, sizes, colors, names of things, people, and so much more. When my kids were young I would just through the entire trip.

I thought my daughter-in-law was genius when before each birthday, she would tell them what chore they got to do after they turned the next age. “When you turn 3, you get to unload the silver ware from the dishwasher and carry your t-shirts up to your room!”

I really enjoy your channel. I was reading through some of the comments and it made me feel bad for you that there seem to be so many negative comments. I wanted to encourage you not to let them get you down. You know what is best for your family (chores, etc.) And the Covid situation is different everywhere, with different laws, etc. God bless you and your family.

My Mama worked a full time job my whole life. We had several chores to do. We must make our bed each morning. I had our sons making up their beds by age 4. It wasn't a chore because they were use to it daily. It was an automatic thing to do. By the time they were 8-10 years of age they could do most household jobs. If they rushed and did a halfway job they had to go back and do it again, they learn fast to do it right the 1st time. Our sons had a lot of play time also. Now that they are grown they often talk about their fun childhood.

Thank you for sharing ❤ I have a 2yr old grandson. He is super helpful at dishes time. I put all his stuff and the plastic utensils in lower drawers etc so he can put them away. He hands me upper cabinet stuff. I have degenerative disc in my back and he is so helpful with the lower rack on my dishwasher. He knows how to put the soap in (those little wrapped up pods) and which buttons make it go. We got him an ikea toy chest with the bin drawers. He is great at picking up toys and putting them into the bins, we leave it lax so it doesnt matter what goes where. He is learning to put his books on his shelf and I give him a couple diaper wipes to clean his little table and chairs. Usually a little music on the google home and hes all for a clean up dance party. I'm curious where you got the sippy cups and are they leak proof. They look really nice.

I love watching your little ones. Mine are 23.5 months apart, so my son became a big brother right before his second birthday. There were certainly days where having them that close was difficult and kept me super busy but I wouldn't change a thing! They're 10 and 8 now and still super duper close with almost zero sibling squabbles or rivalries, my daughter loves doing everything her brother does and he's patient with playing the games she wants to play too. Don't tell his friends he plays Daddy when they play house, that's probably not "cool" but it is awfully sweet how he humors her and does things she enjoys sometimes too.

Always love watching your videos even though I'm not a mother (yet), not a Mennonite and living in Germany. I love seeing different lifestyles and everything DIY/Cooking/Household related. I saw the ham salad/dipp your mum gave you and I wondered if it was something typical in Mennonite cooking. We have something similar - " Fleischsalat" (meat salad) which is boiled fine sausage slices with pickled cucumber and mayo. Greetings from Germany !

I've got a two almost 3 year old. We also try to do something learning everyday during the 4 day work week. It may be a discussion about snails and rollie pollies, flashcard play, puzzles, or cooking, to name a few. I've looked for books and stuff too for her age, but it's mostly all for letter and number tracing and above. I try to have her do a short check list before she gets tv time. It works pretty well. By time the list, cleaning, nap time, and other errands are done it's late afternoon. By then I'm done, back is tired, and just need a break before starting supper.

Super fun video. I just wanted to say that the most important thing you can do with Evonnie is what you are already doing. Have her help you and be near you when you are cooking and cleaning. Read lots of books. Colour pictures. Play with play dough. Formal education at such a young age just isn’t needed and doesn’t guarantee anything as far as being ahead of other kids. They just learn so much from regular life stuff.

I love how you have Evonnie help you do so much! It's great for her! No need to treat work like drudgery! I have three kids and another one on the way, and I'm inspired by your energy, but I'm a week from my due date and I'm not too energetic at the moment... I can't wait to feel myself and do more fun things with the kids!
By the way, we full-time homeschool by choice, and have since the beginning. I've never really done much formally with my kids at Evonnie's age.I like to buy plastic magnetic letters and practice doing letter sounds on the fridge. Or use a little cheap dry erase board and dry erase markers. Listening to audiobooks or classical music, reading aloud to them, talking about things, teaching them about responsibility and how to be a good listener and encouraging curiosity and an interest in learning. That's the most important thing! What you invest in her character now, will be the foundation she builds on for her education. The most important thing for a small child to learn academically, is their letter sounds, so they can start sounding out words and reading as they get older. They can teach themselves so much once they learn to read! Both my boys learn how to read early, and fairly effortlessly, I think because we spent a lot of time when they were toddlers, practicing the letter sounds, recognition and reading aloud to them. I think you're doing great with your kids, and I love your vlogs!

Great video Megan and I love to hear the children talking and babbling in background. Fletcher sounded so proud. On your thoughts on your friend's loss believe me from my own, and friend's experiences, there is nothing more comforting as showing up and just offering your presence and whatever words come to mind. There are no wrong or clinched words and your friend probably won't remember your words but she sure will remember your warmth. One of the most inspiring quotes I have read is ..................
"I have learned people will forget what you have said, people may forget what you gave and what you did but, they will never forget how you made them feel" Maya Angelou. I may not have quoted it exactly but her point is correct. If you haven't heard of her she is worth looking up!!!!

A fun learning activity for Ivani’s age as well as Fletcher’s is sensory bins. The options are endless and there are also several easy options that can be put together easily. For letters or numbers you can hide things that go with that letter or number in a container of beans for her to find. My preschoolers really love it when we do sensory bins.

The book of James is my most very favorite book in the New Testament! So many life lessons and words of comfort there. I know what you mean about not knowing what to say or not wanting to sound cliche. I feel the same way. But one thing that has always stuck with me since my mom passed away, was what someone said to me at her viewing.....she said, “you know, your mom’s really the lucky one, because she’s with Jesus and gets to see him everyday.” For some reason, that gave (gives) me a lot of comfort. I still miss her so!

I second whomever mentioned Amy Maryon for curriculum on her website, she has a great RUclips channel as well.

Hi Megan! Thanks for the videos you post! You’re a wonderful mother! In regards to homeschooling, sometimes Ollies has inexpensive educational stuff for kiddos also! I enjoyed looking through their books and such when my daughter was smaller😊

Good job mom! I still remember that stage, trying to come up with chores for my little ones that were age-appropriate and now they’re all married or in college except for my youngest so just ready to go into eighth grade. Im a fellow Mennonite from Holmes county n I enjoy watching your channel for the Random seeing another famil life In another “teaming with Mennonites”community kind of to see how things are done there. You’re doing a great job being intentional with your children, and I know it’s cliché but enjoy it while you can.

My 3.5 year loves getting the kiwi crate and of course I do as well. I was a little disappointed this time as the crate didn't come with an actual hard book, it was more like the ideas/instructions manual. Not sure if that's what he'll get on next crate or not. Love the chore ideas. They are so willing to help at this stage and it teaches them life skills. Love your channel. Stay safe and healthy ❤️

If you're looking for fun suggestions for age appropriate education for kids, the Hapa family on RUclips does Montessori activities and have a ton of videos dedicated to age appropriate activities that can be made at home or cheaply.

Thank you so much for taking the time to show how you involve your kids in your routine-I found it very inspirational! Mine are 1ish but it is so helpful to up my expectations since I don’t have any friends with babies :-)

If you have Ollie's in PA, they have the mother-load of books and usually a great Christian book section. I always find great educational books for my grandkids who are homeschooled

Oh my gosh!! When I saw you making Choc Crinkles with those kiddos, it touched me! My mom died in car accident when I was 5, but one of the things I remember doing with her is making these cookies!!! I just thought it was soooo amazing that you were making these too!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

It sounded like fletcher was saying “you’re pregnant.” When he was trying to be the center of attention. Lol. So funny.

Does Fletcher do any jobs? Maybe he can take his own cup to the kitchen. Just an idea. My children are grown but I wish that I had my younger children do more,( I sure put a lot of responsibilities on my oldest one). Probably just wish I had a "Do Over" moment. Lots of love to you and your family. Great video ❤🙏😁👍
