Wow. These trucks arn't afraid to hit. This has got to be one of the most active demo derbies I've seen in a while... on dirt.
Although, not all of them are trucks. Many of the contestants drove tired-out family minivans and full-sized suv's.

Dodge Caravans & Chrysler Town & Countries from that era are a very well made automobile. They are a good purchase for a family car. Very safe & dependable.

I can't believe that 5.4 2 valve lasted that long with no more coolant. Lol I own a 5.4 3 valve and I think mine would have been the first one out lol
Right? I don't know, I've seen a lot of crown vic 4.6s puttering along in heats when they've pegged out and ran dry for half the derby. Course any hope of unseizing them when they sit is gone unlike something like a sbc.

This is good but English version it's much better, bigger tracks that are oval shape and often concrete so can get high speed and they crash a lot harder than the us ones, search banger racing UK and you will see they hit eachother at like 40mph+
That’s what we call train wreck effect….I never knew a lil car could get the size of a quad before. Bangers are awesome, wouldn’t want to know how full the hospital or sadly morgue gets after one of those events. UK folks are off the ground nutters.

Depends where youre at. Most of em make ya pull a driveshaft. Smart to pull the back one anyways. Ya want to use the rear for hitting and the rear shaft will smoke the t-case, causing loss of the front.

I noticed some of the trucks are in 4 wheel drive, our derby won’t allow that! And if you have an AWD vehicle you need to disable it
A few ran Front wheel drive only, I had to do a double take. We did it once and actually works out well

What's with stopping the heat to get drivers out? That screws over anyone who's leaking or out of antifreeze.
They stop when there is a bumper on the track or they need to closely inspect car for safety concerns. Most eliminated people use that as opportunity to exit their vehicle

Thank you, that's good to know, that makes sense, but I feel like they were eager to sound a horn. I definitely like how all the flaggers have air horns though! I've seen drivers make contact with one car while the fire crew worked on another nearby, the announcer was the only thing they had to stop the drivers and that doesn't work well with open headers. I've long thought that each car should have a magnetic light and horn on the roof connected to a toggle switch and run off a battery to alert officials of issues unnoticed. And a train horn controlled by a person in the booth watching for flags and issues.

@@Lilman3000 not alot of the time? That rarely happens man I've been running 10 years since I was 15 and have about 7 heavy hitters and that rarely happens. It does not need to be stopped Everytime they decide to actually lay a hit dowm

I didnt notice anyone in 4x4 Normally you have to pull 1 driveshaft. The one truck I did noticed pulled the rear shaft and basically made his truck front wheel drive.

The are no compacts out there. Vans yes but they have to be 6 cylinder. Same with the compact trucks. They gave to be v6 or v8 to be in this class. Vans usually win this class

Eh, he can fix it and run another derby. I will agree tho, that was lame as hell. Last truck derby I watched in my area a 3/4 ton 2nd gen dodge like that truck won. Kicked everybodys ass, was running the stock 360 with engine quest heads to get an LA intake to fit so he could run a carb, a bit bigger cam and headers thru the hood. Beat all the built trucks out there

Take anyone of those motors you just mentioned, drain them of all coolants, plus no fan & see how well they run after. Don’t hate on that rig it carried that lead foot monster to victory.
