    It’s such a struggle to grind coffee beans for espresso coffee, especially for quad shots… weak arms 😅 I’m thinking maybe get a “power motor” for it. I don’t see many out there but the one from Gawoody looks good and seems to work well. Let me know if anyone has recommendations :)

      You're using a Comandante so it's going to be harder - once I got a 1zPresso K-Max, espresso grind was a breeze ;) Have to ask, how hot is your shot as you don't pre-heat the water chamber and take your time putting it all together before you extract it, just curious?

    What a classic process but
    In the end transferring the shot is highly not recommended
    And What's about that lousy foamed milk you could have just
    used a frenchpress to make way better velvet froth
    But I can understand ur tired by the grinding
    BTW I used Bosch drill kit 10mm drill with the screwdriver adaptor
    it directly hops on to my 20 dollar worth Grinder ,
    Plugs to the wall but the drill makes takes seconds max 30 seconds
    But Generally go low rpm

    • @highleesensitive
      @highleesensitive  Год назад

      Transferring the shot will bring down the temperature even more? Yes, the milk frother doesn’t do a good job 😄 but I got it to heat milk mainly. I used to just pour cold milk straight from the fridge (really bad!), then I started heating it in the microwave and it spilled over sometimes and that was a mess to clean up. So that’s why I got a milk frother, mainly to heat up the milk.

      @@highleesensitive 😂😂I totally get it the milk in microwave is just
      too unpredictable it's either luke warm or straight out boiling and spilling 🤣
      Heating milk is a problem I still rely on a pan to hear the milk and then use the frenchpress again by the top either shot is cold or even the milk as well sometimes, great work though Maybe I was just waiting to see the latte art😅but the process was worth the time.

    I use a hand grinder but remove the handle and use a small cordless drill with an adapter. I love coffee but I’m never going to do 300 cycles of a hand grinder to earn it. Screw that

      I know what you mean. I wanted to get a Hario Electro Solo which kind of function like a cordless drill but I couldn’t find the adapter for my grinder so I ended up getting a Gawoody Motor Kit made for my grinder.

    Thanks for sharing your video. Please can you share where you purchased the sleeve (cover around the pico) and the stand? Thank you.

    • @highleesensitive
      @highleesensitive  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching! The sleeve is a DIY actually 😄 I wanted something to add a bit of thickness to the Picopresso (without really changing the look) because it can get pretty hot. I got a silicone sleeve meant for a large water bottle, cut it to match the height of the Picopresso (minus the removable top and bottom parts) and a hole somewhere in the middle to accommodate the pump. The largest diameter of the silicone sleeve that I could find was ~6.5cm but since it’s a stretchable material, it fits just nice. Then I got a silicone sports wristband to place at the bottom to prevent it from slipping down the stand holder (optional, not really needed). As for the stand, I got it from Lazada from a store called EAST EAR Living House. What I did was I searched for a stand that I liked where the holder diameter is ~7.2cm to accommodate the diameter of the Picopresso (~7.1cm) and the silicone sleeve (~0.1cm). I hope this helps!

      @@guidog3068 Hey! I made coffee with Picopresso today but the shot I pulled was horrible 😅 I managed to take the temperature right out of the shot glass and it’s ~125°F or ~52°C. I read somewhere that a serving espresso temperature is ~160°F or ~71°C so I guess it is on the colder side. I’m not sure how else to keep the temperature higher since I already preheat the chamber and the shot glass. You can check out today’s video if you want :)

    • @guidog3068
      @guidog3068 2 года назад +1

      @@highleesensitive that’s really interesting, thanks for sharing that and I’ll have a look at your video. The only thing I can think that would improve the serving temperature would be to insulate the brew chamber with something. I have seen some people on RUclips are using home fabricated sleeves of their own design but this has been to stop the picopresso burning their hands I think. It needs a better thermal insulator to prevent heat loss. As you say if you preheat as much as possible and warm the cup your doing everything you can. I have the same issue of rapid heat loss at high temperature making pizzas with my Ooni Karu wood/charcoal oven. Perhaps a good thermal insulating sleeve would help. You could try wrapping a tea towel round it whilst preheating and pulling a shot and take the temperature again after as an experiment 🤔

    • @highleesensitive
      @highleesensitive  2 года назад +1

      @@guidog3068 Yeah, it does burn the hands when it’s filled with hot water. I’m okay with the lower temperature since once I add hot oat milk, the coffee becomes hot again. I did a quick search on Ooni Karu and it looks amazing!

    14 click on a mk4 with the picopresso but there’s too much pressure and the coffee doesn’t drop like u..maybe I tamper too hard ? Thanks !

    • @highleesensitive
      @highleesensitive  Год назад +2

      Is it 14 clicks with the Red Clix? I used 7 clicks on the standard axle (14 clicks on the Red Clix) so if you also used the standard axle but 14 clicks, I don’t see how there could’ve been too much pressure because your grinds were coarser. What do you mean by not dropping like mine? Too watery? Channeling?
      I saw a video where a barista said it’s not possible to tamp too hard because if we tamp hard even when all the air pockets are gone, the grounds just won’t be pressed further. He said we can only tamp not hard enough 😄 That’s what he said.

    • @Carlitoooification
      @Carlitoooification Год назад +1

      @@highleesensitive no it was with the standard one ! With a different beans this morning I extracted a 18g in 37,6 out in 1 min 49 with 9 clicks..it was a powerful espresso but it’s not too much time for a 18g ?

    • @highleesensitive
      @highleesensitive  Год назад

      @@Carlitoooification I think espresso extraction is done within 30 seconds. 1 min and 49 secs does seem like too much time. This is a mystery to me… if I use more than 7 clicks, my experience is that it’ll be too coarse and there won’t be enough pressure and extraction time will be very short. Yet you’re using 9 clicks but experiencing something totally different.
