RHCP tend to be one of those bands where the notes played don't look that complicated but getting the rhythm and feel correct is a hell of a thing, especially when you're used to metal rhythm guitar. So much of this kinda funk-inspired rhythm guitar is based around the paradox of playing loose and free while still keeping the rhythm tight and locked in.

Why do you keep bending the 9 or daa. Lol, this is so brutal for a John Frusciante fan. John plays w/very little bend or vibrato, in general but def. in this song. that's metal bs. He pics all strings but mutes w/his fret fingers
