She is a co-founder of The Taos Peace and Reconciliation Council, which works to heal intergenerational trauma and ethnic division in the northern New Mexico. She is a walker within the Nihigaal Bee Iiná Movement, a 1,000-mile prayer walk through Diné Tah (the Navajo homeland) that is exposing the exploitation of Diné land and people by uranium, coal, oil and gas industries. She is the lead organizer of the Black Hill Unity Concert which gathers native and nonnative musicians to pray for the return of guardianship of the Black Hills to the Lakota, Nakota and Dakota nations. She is the also the founder of Regeneration Festival, an annual celebration of children that occurs in 13 countries around the world every September. Beautiful Navajo Rug dress and jewelry she is wearing proudly! she is Dine and Cheyenne raised in Taos. Just a beautiful person inside and out.

Good morning, would there be rights seeing it's Navajo homeland and be due compensation for anyone digging up resources... like people who have natural gas in the ground.
Maybe purchase air rights or the opposite direction of rights. Just a thought to help.

Indigenous beautiful people of Mexico, you are loved, valued & appreciated. The warmth of your hearts & culture is known to those whose hearts are open. We are all One in the Unified Woven fabric of our Creator's Reality that remains Supreme over all illusions, confusions & delusions of those who are blinded by the sickness of ego & belief in separation. Now even Physics teaches us about inherent Unity of all Life & all people. Although, we are also all unique like no other, like fingerprints, our Creator expresses His Light of Love uniquely through one of us & yet The Light of Love remains Always & Forever One. So beautiful to hear your heart!❤❤❤

I would just like to say that I am Irish, Scottish and Cherokee. I'm indigenous all the way around. The Irish are indigenous to their land. The Scottish are indigenous to their land in the Cherokee are indigenous to their land. They are the first people's and I haven't got enough blood quantification to prove that I'm Cherokee. But I know that none of us own any of this land. The joke is going to be on us when back to the land we go. We're only here to keep this land for our grandchildren and some of us forgot that

Transcribed for Deaf and hard of hearing:
Indigenous people. Shine your light, we are equal. I remember the days when our prayers were illegal. I remember the days when being Indian was lethal. Yeah, we had a rough past but get ready for the sequel. Get ready for the glory, it's come back of our people. Oh yeah.
Rise up, all you warriors of love. All you answers to the prayers of our ancestors from above. I can feel it in my heart. Can you feel it in your blood? I can hear the sound of fire calling us to wake up! Wake up!
All nations rise! Rise up 'cause now's your time. We don't have to hide anymore 'cause now's the time. All nations rise. Rise up 'cause now's your time. We don't have to hide anymore 'cause now's the time.
With forgiveness as my bow and my prayers as my arrows, pull 'em back and let go. I watch 'em fly like sparrows. Have hope. Yeah, have hope! With compassion as my shield and faith down to my marrow I will walk the pollen path even when it gets narrow! Yeah, I resurrect.
Yes, you can bet that we seen the single mama raising children on the rez. We seen domestic violence tear apart what we have left. We seen the alcohol take it all and leave us dead. Seen the children take their lives when they can't take the dread anymore. It's a war. Can't take the dread anymore. It's a war. No, we can't take the dread anymore. It's a war. No, we can't take the dread anymore. It's a war.
It's a war but we we've seen it all before and now we know we can change it 'cause that's why we were born. We know we are the ones that we have been waiting for. We are the ones Grandma has been praying for.
So rise up, all you warriors of love. All you answers to the prayers of our ancestors from above. I can feel it in my heart. Can you feel it in your blood? I can hear the sound of fire calling us to wake up! Wake up!
... They say that history is written by the victors but how can there be a victor when the war isn't over? The battle has only just begun. And creator is sending his very best warriors. And this time, it isn't Indians verses Cowboys. No, this time it is all the beautiful races of humanity together on the same side. And we are fighting to replace our fear with love. And this time bullets, arrows, and cannonballs won't save us. The only weapons that are useful in this battle are the weapons of truth, faith, and compassion.

This song, and you Lyla June, are such a beautiful ray of light shining down on us from above. I was mesmerized by your message. And I agree fully. We must become united instead of divided in order to obtain the peace which we all seek. I put a sign in my front yard a few years ago that read, "I love you! Hey! If people can hate for no reason, then I can love".
If by chance I ever make it back to New Mexico, perhaps our paths will cross. I would be absolutely honored to meet you. But chances are this old Grandma will never step foot out of Florida again. Be blessed always and thank you for sharing such a beautiful song/words.

Wow. If this isn’t a joke it is simultaneously both sad and ignorant, nauseatingly patronizing, tone deaf, and reeks of racial arrogance. Do you really think she needs a reminder of the humanity of others from you? She has apparently been listening, is ready to follow, and to lead herself.
We are most certainly not all equal in the eyes of God. Your words and your tone suggests that you believe you as a white person are the natural child of God, and that non-whites can be happy to know there is a chance for them too. If that is the case, and I strongly suspect it is, your assessment couldn’t possibly be more wrong. Maybe meditate on what it is to receive true humility and Grace “white Norwegian Texas girl”. Btw are some of your best friends black too?
You will have to forgive my intolerance of your perhaps unintentional or subconscious arrogance, but I won’t pretend that it is not woefully apparent that you didn’t so much reach out to express your love for ‘American Indians’ as you did to attempt to convince yourself and others that you, by virtue of your “whiteness”, are somehow superior to all others, and that it is by your tribal grace that “non-whites} have an opportunity to be equal to whites. What a thought.
What an ugly notion. “Who are whites to be equal to?”
We are NOT all equal in the eyes of God, but each has an equal opportunity to be blessed by God, if each would but pick up their cross and follow.✨🕊✨

We live in a dominant culture which ensures we are not equal. While there may be a God who feels differently, he/she/it clearly has left us in our own. It is my belief that what matters most is to work very hard to be a decent human being, to fight against that culture as best as we can and to recognize that in a culture based on inequality, difference inherently matters.

Thank you for this. My cousins and I on my father's side are among the last descendants of Gulf Coast tribes whose names have been lost to the winds of time. I've spent the last several years searching for information about them, but have found very little. My Great Grandfather Eugenio Santana, a kind, strong, and powerful man whose name I am honored to bear, died speaking his native language, and no one knew what he was saying. I carry that with me always, and though most of my blood is of European ancestry, I do all I can to remember and bring back as much of the 15% that is indigenous to this land, because if I and those like me don't, than our ancestors, who persevered through unimaginable pain, suffering, and trauma, will be completely forgotten and erased by the march of Western Civilization. With the strength I have been blessed with by my incredible forebears, I will never let that happen. History will be rewritten, even if I must do it myself. Those who were massacred, enslaved, and abused endlessly shall be given a voice, and the people of the world will hear them. For those who forget their history, are doomed to repeat it.

It is time, I to feel it and I am ready my brothers and sisters, stand strong and take back what has been stolen and stand for those of us who have been attacked by those who hate us for who we are. A holy people put on these lands by our creator to care for the land and all creation on it, so our next generation will stand and proudly say I am of the five fingered being Dine’ and still standing. Even though they tried to exterminate us and claim they conquered our people, I rise to what was taken and stand for what is right. My people have suffered at the hands of wicked invaders for long enough, if we are to take back what was taken we must unite and stand together as what we are. Family!!! I am with you 100%. Yes I am woke...

My family buried our traditions and heritage and didn't teach my sisters or I any of our history for some reason, they didn't tell my mom Anything either, except that there is Blackfeet and Cherokee "somewhere in the family", and made it sound like such a dark family secret for some reason, it makes me sad. I'd love to learn EVERYTHING. Not only do I feel like I deserve to know, but my son now deserves to know. I want him to celebrate our people and our traditions proudly!(Which I know in my blood he would definitely do, I see it in his mannerisms and daily attitude, he's a warrior, and it can be a blessing and get him into trouble sometimes! Lol) it's always nice to know where you came from.
