Excellent video and information! Question ---If using the original Jag IRS cage would a "wedge" shaped spacer with four holes have to machined for "sandwiching" between the top flat surface of the diff and the upper cage surface?
Sadly the majority of people don't want to read any more. They want a video. Hard to find time for my web page when I am dropping a video a week on youtube.
But doing this throw out the tailshaft angle then the needle bearings in the universal will not rotate correctly and will dig into universal cross bearing surface, i think jaguar and other IRS rear end builders ie corvette know what they are doing 😅
You are completely wrong. I’m changing the pinion angle to match the transmission in my car. That is how you correctly set it up for proper needle bearing movement in the u joints when putting a jag IRS in something OTHER than a Jaguar. And your flippant comment about the Jaguar IRS not needing to be modified because the designers “know what they’re doing” shows you weren’t paying much attention in the video because the mod is done with Jaguar IRS parts. I appreciate the comment but let’s really take a good look at what is being done before assuming this is not the best way to do it. I am extremely well versed in the Jaguar IRS and know what I’m talking about.

sadly its not that simple. Yes the wedge would change the angle but it would also lower the diff misaligning the wishbone mounts in the cage
Good stuff. Can't wait for page 8 on the website!

More please 🤙 this info is just what I have been looking for.
Glad I could help
Very useful info. I am currently rebuilding the rear end of my Cobra replica. 572 Cubic inches
655 horses. 715 foot-pounds..
That's a lot of power to put through a Jaguar IRS
Have you considered doing an ifs also? New sub. Just bingeing your videos
I actually designed and built a coilover type front suspension for my car. ruclips.net/video/4rHDeqsOjTg/видео.html
Very Interesting!
thanks
Is the XKE part readily available?
available, yes... readily, not as much 😂
Nice.
Thanks!
