I come from the Netherlands and Emma Kok is 15 years old and took part in a singing competition called Voice of Holland where she immediately won. World-famous violinist Andre Rieu has invited her to sing at the Vrijthof in Maastricht, where about 12,000 people come to listen to his concerts. Andre Rieu regularly invites emerging talents such as Emma Kok there. In the introduction, Andre indicates that Emma Kok has a very rare disease that means she cannot eat. So she gets her food through a tube. Emma indicated in an interview that she was often bullied at school due to this disease. It also ensures that she has much less energy than others. She regularly has to sit in a wheelchair or use a walker. About 22 hours a day she is connected to a (portable) machine that has her tube feeding and helps her with bowel movements. Before she comes on stage, her mother disconnects her from this machine. Like everyone else, I am very impressed with Emma...
We would all like to see more from Emma. Even if she was only singing the dictionary, that would be ok by me. No doubt from time to time she will release something like this performance of Hallelujah, but I'm not sure I would expect an album from her anytime soon, or anything like a live tour on her own. She is only 15 years old, and still a schoolgirl. Between her educational obligations and touring the world with Andre Rieu, I imagine she doesn't have a lot of time for much else. In a couple years she may want to continue her education at university, and who could blame her for that. One thing is certain. If she chooses to pursue a career in music, as many of us hope she does, she will become a megastar. Of that I have no doubt.
Leonard Cohen is smiling in Heaven! Her aura when singing projects a spirituality that hits the very core of your being, leaving you in a more tranquil and happier state. I believe she does it better than anyone! She is very special and God has given her this talent for a reason. She has created awe in millions and will continue to do so in the future! Sixteen now.
And let's not forget how she turned the stage into a playground of interaction! Emma, with her vibrant personality, wasn't just performing; she was having a heart-to-heart with every single person in the crowd. It was like being at a friend's concert, not just any artist's.
Hi..... Thanks for Your reaction at Emma Kok, she's amazing, I'm also from Holland, Emma has to own songs "Strijder" (Worrior) and "Laat mij een Vlinder zijn" (Let me be a Butterfly" this is the link from "Strijder". ruclips.net/video/rL0GLdnWEKk/видео.html
