he's not as shiny as he once was,his performance was pretty, underwhelming.. probably because when he first started he's fired up playing at home court and playing first time, now he have lost all that.. Takahashi the new young star is shining in his place
It’s unwise to give everything playing here at VNL. The Tokyo Olympics is what everyone is really preparing for and most teams are tanking which is understandable.
@SureDude that Japan lost. Yet you’re acting like people are defending Japan’s honour in the chat. This isn’t the only thread I’ve seen you go out of your way to put down the Japanese team. Grow up, child, people have the basic understanding of competition and they know that one side will lose. We don’t need you jumping in every conversation, that has nothing to do with the matches result, shoving down the scores in our throats. No one cares.
Hats off to the VNL/Volleyball World for really increasing the quality of these replays/content! First we started with 4-5 min highlights, and now we get ~8.5 min recaps. First the thumbnails gave the match result away, but now they look more professional/standard without any spoilers. Really excited to have this platform and level of production for my favorite sport :D
In tokyo that all matters. Seems like Japan is slowing down. I hope we can see a different Energy in Olympics. To be honest I love these two teams my fave. ☺
Lol this game reminds me a little of that France vs Brazil match when the scores were really close, though it was much more intense. Great game from USA and Japan. Now on to TOKYO!!!🔥🔥🔥
Garreth Muagututia really deserved to be in First Six. His reception is always on point. And the way he spikes/attacks, nothing fancy but he delivered. Hoping that I'll meet him in person. Your fan from the Philippines - Ysmael Tabago, Nueva Ecija ❤️💚
remember when team usa libero erik shoji reacted to japanese high school volleyball? one of them in that high school video was #1 takahashi ran, who is now on this court as team japan's #21. sooo cool 😭 i just wished they added some slo-mos
Man...This match could have gone both ways. Congratulations USA. Japan is definitely a force to be reckon with. I love seeing how Japan managed to do so much for being at a disadvantage in height. But they make it up in absolute ball control and floor defense.
You realize blocking is part of defense, right? Japan is TERRIBLE at blocking and always has been. They aren't a good defense team, they just have to try to make up for a lack of blocking by digging more balls.
@@Bigboibeven No need for realization because it has always been the system. That blocking is defense. What I mean by defense in this post is their floor defense which they showed during their previous matches. But it's a fault on my part for not being specific. And yes, blocking is a big problem for Japan so they need to compensate for that through the floor. And that is what I am talking about. USA is ❤️ too.
I’ve been watching a volleyball anime and wanted to come see what it looked like in live action and oh my god I gotta say it did not disappoint, how amazing
Offensively, Japan need more pressure from the middle and setter. I love Sekita and how good he is at setting pins/pipe, but it sucks that sekita is lacking some aggressiveness, because if setters like Micah, Bruno, etc. have that level of passing consistency, they’ll be a big source of pressure with their strength in the 5th option. Which would cut some slacks for the pins/pipe by drawing the blocks away from them. Same with middles, if a poland, russian, brazil, usa midle get to play with those consistent passes, they’d be monsters. As for blocking, Japan’s block is kinda simple, and their main goal is leading the ball to the diggers instead of stuff blocking with a lot of fake blocks (like how defalco blocked Ishikawa and Nishida this match). I can’t really say which type of blocking style is better though.
Definitely agree. The problem with middle make their offense very tough as the world class player can easily commit to outside and opposite. Worse when their receive were off. The setter become very obvious with his play and the attacker ends up using their skill to hit an angle or a touch out. It’s not easy to deal with the pressure of block.
i wanted to see Micah Christenson reaxtion when the ball almost hit his...hihihihihi. I love seeing the enjoyment of Christenson(it makes me kilig or thrilled) when he or his team making a point. I'm an huge fan of them from Philipines 🇵🇭
Bro Defalco is on fire, Nishida gotta re-up his performance, Takahashi is getting a taste of the american blocks lol, hope he'd get used to it and do well in the olympics
The weakness of Japan is their Net Blocking actually, their Middle blockers to be specific. They are not dominant players to put pressure on other teams.
@@user-iu1ru1qz7u they watch one anime and think they know volleyball but don't actually know jack about the sport... they suck off all the Japanese players when none of them are actually that good. It gets so annoying lol
Erik Shoji said that they’ve been using that 4 man receiving formation since Russell and Sander got injured. It’s because they need Anderson to cover bcs USA’s outside hitters aren’t consistent on receiving except (maybe) Muagututia.
It is so clear that japan's team has improved quite a bit cause in last vnl happened in 2019 japan lost by a landfall but this time they came into 20 point range .. even though they lost it looks like it will still take more 2-3 years to win a set or a match against USA. Great game
Winning a match with the USA is impossible for Japan. USA man is very strong physical with high durability while Asian man can't keep it after 2 sets ( exept Iran)
@@thaijulian8698 well since im an indian so i ain't gonna be predicting how japan will win against USA and definitely Japan has a really long way to go to win either vnl or any other world championship but as far as i can think of japan still has one of the top floor defence so its not that they are very weak its just that non stop offence is going to beat strong defence at some point. Since japan lack some serious offence capabilities they are no way weak cause they still are one of the teams where other teams struggle to score even one point cause almost each rally are 1-2 min long.
