Not gonna lie, this EAS mock-up genuinely creeped me out, but when Eggman’s announcement finally came up, I felt relieved.
Just 2 to 3 minutes of dread, and then the ever iconic

Unlike today's Amber Alerts which are basically treated like Spam.

EAS alerts still fucking terrify me to this day. every time i hear them, they put me into a state of shock.

The first thing I heard within my organic ear 'I've come to make announcement', something clicked in my mind in less then one second. After that, I did something so hard called 'laugh'. I laughed so hard that I fell out of my office chair located within my bedroom.

That genuinely terrifies me, every time I hear it.
It reminds me of one dream I had, where I just felt genuine fear.
I just woke up one day, in my bed. At the time, I had to live in a garage with my 3 sisters because of how small the house was.
I looked around for a moment and looked at my TV which I had left on for dim light.
At the bottom right corner, it read:
"Meteor will impact nation in: [time here]"
And I looked at it for a moment, confused. Until it reached zero and I heard a massive boom.
I looked at the garage door, where the sound came from. And the longer I looked, the more I heard flames roaring, and the more screams shuddered through that door. At least I think there were screams. It might've just been the flames themselves.
And then, as it approached and got even louder, I woke up in a sweat feeling nothing but terror.
Just me in my bed, left to contemplate that dream.
And every time I hear that beeping that we all know and fear?
I'm left to contemplate more of if it actually happened.

This is absolutely terrific. I was expecting at the end of the announcement, it was going to begin the other broadcast that started off with “I’m taking over the universe!” where it plays in the limousine.
This definitely would've aired if Eggman didn't hijack everything.
What Eggman said terrified me to the core.
Thankfully, later he announced his new album "Crackin' Eggs" to calm everyone down.

The best part about this is there’s no image, so you have to imagine what this looks like which adds to the horror of the situation.

I usually get sick when I here these emergency alert sounds from the TV or my phone, but if the announcements sounded like this, I think I'd pay attention just as well and get a little less sick.

imagine listening to this and in real time the power goes out in your home when he pisses on the moon
Honestly it's kinda heartwarming in hindsight to be living in any world with superheroes like Sonic or Dragon Ball or Marvel. Sure the planet is in danger like, numerous times, but think about this: you can hear the EAS system blare. In any other analogue horror situation, some creepy shit or some really apocalyptic stuff happens and there's nothing you can do to stop it except perhaps try and hide. In a world where there's heroes like in Sonic or Dragon Ball or Marvel, you can rest easy with the fact that somewhere out there, there are a group of superpowered heroes that can attempt to stop the threat at large.
