HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 дек 2015
- This week, Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada shows you how to make our Octopus Ceviche which is very simple. Most all of your ingredients can be found in your local supermarket, with the exception being Yuzu juice, which is a Japanese fruit that closely resembles a grapefruit. Instead, use lemon or lime juice.
Give this a try and let us know how it came out. Comment below to share your thoughts! Thanks and we look forward to seeing you in our next episode :)

i love the slicing part. its satisfying to watch
when he was cutting the vegetables.
+John Pasion exactly same bro lol
yes! skills! !
John Pasion yeah just to see him slice the onion looks cool
His cutting skills are so good it's scary. The cucumbers are so finely cut that it's transparent
yeah, accurate and precise 👌
Joshua Gumangan Parayaoan that means the same thing lmao
When he cuts the radish it damn near turns to water. Amazing...
This man's knife skills are beautiful.
Does anybody else watch these videos but never cooks like me 😂
+killermike22000 I'm just waiting till I have enough money saved up for a decent knife so I don't just wreck the ingredients.
Always tell my self "I'm gonna learn to make sushi"
+illudian I use a Frost Cutlery knife to cut with. Sharpness is what counts. Higher priced knives are made with higher quality steel so they hold an edge better and last longer but you don't need an expensive knife to make great sushi.
+Mike West Exactly! I use an old cheap kitchen knife to to make my sushi. I have to sharpen it before every session, and once during, but it works.
me 😂✌
Ladies and gentlemen, you have witnessed onion & cucumber slicing porn.
StormX342-GFX UUUUUUUUUUUH
StormX342-GFX did u notice the cucumber and the limes on the back 😂
Name of cucumber plss
I watch all these regularly. I work two jobs; I raise two boys alone. The kitchen is my personal temple. I have chemical imbalances that make it hard to relax; besides cooking, I find additional internal solace in watching masters at work - of course, cooking is preferred. Your videos are superb. And I find Hiro's nodding very calming. I haven't commented before. Just wanted to say thank you. If I ever make it down to Miami, I'll be sure to get a meal and visit with y'all at NoVe :)
+Hiroyuki Terada - Thank you! :)
Watching "Your Last Meal (07/10/16) w/ Aaron Lau from Sushi 10 now. I'm only 4 hours from the coast, yet it's so hard to get genuine, fresh (not frozen) day-catch stuff like this around metro Atlanta for some reason. I can make these at home if I could only source the ingredients (Catalina Offshore notwithstanding... too expensive and wrong coast). If you know any reliable suppliers who ship to any fish market daily in metro ATL (Atlantic or Gulf; either's fine), I'd love to know. I want to feed my kids seafood - of which they're rather skeptical, as tastes and textures go, because... kids... - that I trust and can manipulate for adult AND children's palates. Let me know! Regardless, I'm LOVING this video. Aaron is incredibly talented as well. I love seeing you and Hiro excited about other people's food. (And btw, the Taco Bell "Will it Sushi" is something I plan to recreate with the kids - who are obsessed with T.B. - and record/post to Facebook, lol.) You guys are the BEST! Thank you :)
+Hiroyuki it's a little more difficult to source than I thought. There's plenty of fresh shrimp coming in, but things like tuna and salmon are almost always frozen (or $50 for two portions worth, lol). I'll keep my eyes open, thank you! And sure, when we do the TB rolls, I'll share pics :)
🙏♥️
Chef, I want to thank you so very much for showing all this " Sushi " to us....you will never be forgotten...you will be part of my cooking Diary.....
Happy New Year Chef! If I might ask where might I acquire a set of the knives you use for my own kitchen?

superjam18 Lmao 😂
Looks and sounds really tasty. Always enjoy your videos. You should put together a cookbook of your recipes. You could do a self published e-book that people could download. I'd buy it and I think a lot more people would as well. Have a safe and happy New Year! :-)
good idea !
I swear its such a pleasure to watch this guy work i wish i could be in the kitchen with him
I served 20 years in the Marines Food Service and retired as the Food Technician for 1st Marine Logistics Group. During my service I spent 2 years in Okinawa Japan and worked with many Japanese Chefs. And, I want to say that this dish was prepared in an excellent fashion. The presentation was beautiful. You are definitely a Master Chef. I salute you.
His skills are even better than me playing cooking mama
Ugh, the sound of the sugar on the bottom of the bowl...sends shivers up my spine.

A true chef keeps his station neat clean and tidy and hiro demonstrates that perfectly. love your videos amazing recipes.
what an art, makes me love food even more
His control of the knife is mesmerizing.
DanielConley sure is
Watching these videos is so satisfying 😄 my mouth gets so watery and I don't even like sea food 😭
Karen Ramirez I agree!
Livia Holien same here
Livia Holien same here
Karen Ramirez you should really try it sometime it's orgasmic. If you find the right place that actually cares how the food turns out after it's cooked and all sea food should be cooked precisely with certain oils not this pressure cooking or deep frying like in most places. Give it a chance and see u'll love it
Such skill and passion! Can't wait to see more! :)
That looked very refreshing..... Thank You Hiro
Being a former (apprentice) sushi chef I love watching your vids chef reminds me how much I miss the bar and the blade :(

Love watching all your meals you make, really good x deb
Wow..chef Terada never fails to amaze me with his fine knife skills. Those vegetables were cut really fine! Simply amazing!

+MUNNI AMIN no its not
Mr. Terada!! Thank you for your wonderful skills and beautiful dishes. Sometimes when I can't sleep I watch your videos. They're very calming and I love them
you can really see the amount of care that goes into the food he prepares 10/10
i feel that the music was a little bit to loud. it was hard to hear chef.
+Alicia Johnson - The real problem is that the chef is shy and wont speak up. ^^
+LetoZeth the real problem is the chef needs to get a new host, there's no chemistry between them. the chef might not actually be that shy
Bruce Nguyen - The same could be said about the host, needing to get a new chef.
But I doubt that's the reason.
The chef is just a typical good-guy shy-guy.
+LetoZeth you cant replace the chef u crazy, the host can be replaced
Bruce Nguyen Anyone is replaceable.
How can you be so skilled at cutting and knowing what to do all the time?! Brilliant
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef I'm a kid using my mums account for youtube and you've inspired me to become a sushi chef 😀
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef thanks man it's great that you reply to your fans, if I move to America, I'll visit you 😀
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef I'll try and get the money for a flight, but if I do, where is your restraint and when do you work?
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef thanks, I'll do my best to visit, we could make something like this or one of your meat lovers rolls or we could fillet a whole tuna or something
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef You need to teach me how to cut because i like thin slices for cheese when making scramble eggs.
I've never seen someone so fast, so precise. Keep up the good work Hiroyuki.

+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef
Do you know what it means? Give it a Google... Anyways it's just funny as hell
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef if you really watched it, you would noticr that even the tone and the shooting style are the same. The only difference is sushi vs women. I find the sushi more appetizing :)
+TomerAgmon1 LMAO i just realised that XD
+TomerAgmon1 The most mysterious part is neither of them show their face.... hmmm. lol
😂 yea
I feel like this video is pretty similar on pornhub like the dudes are talking to other people
Hahahahahaha
John Louise oh shit lmao
John Louise im a youjizzdotcom guy myself
How are people relating food prep to porn?! That makes zero sense. Food prep doesn't sexually arouse me. I don't even like porn. Hiro's vids are pretty soothing to watch.
wow
True artist!! Amazing!!!
So much skill involved!
Why do you remove the seeds from the cucumber? I think I will start doing that also.
Shugger AnnSpyce because is You leave them once it's mixed with the sauce it gets really soggy
Don't Know Joe thanks for the reply. I thought it was more for presentation
Excellent video, just wish they didn't have to kill so many vegetables
I love watching him cut & slice because he's so fast and accurate

I'm watching this eating poptarts :(
I'm 17 and would love to feed this to my parents instead of them feeding me, where would I be able to find most of those ingredients
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef thank you
most grocery stores will have these ingredients. or you can go to whole foods
+Clash Of Clans101 Good for you! Cooking for your family is a good thing to do. :)
i am impressed you turned my mind i doesnt like sushi a year ago but when i watch your videos my mouth is watering and i love sushi since i have start to watch your videos and you are a legend with your cutting skills
Im a vegan and now im eatting shushi... loving it
Been watching these videos everyday for the past 2 months. It's been one of my priorities to come down to the bar one day. Great work Hiro!
im agree about the cuisine evolution but I don't see anywhere the CEVICHE. please change the name
Many places in latinamerica has in their dairy meals Ceviches with tons of diferents mods, type's of see food and vegetables but always one of the principal ingredients is the lime or acid to have a maceration. and never the protein is cooked. in that case's the dish takes diferents names. as ensalda, vuelve a la Vida, cocktail, campechana, etc.
I love octopus and seems to taste good with the souce that Hiro made
Agree with you . this is not ceviche!
lol
looks good but not ceviche
I'm Peruvian, where ceviche originated from
And I can tell you for a fact that is not ceviche, like you said it is normally macerated with lime juice ,
Original ceviche is the fish, haven't found the right one yet but I've tried tuna , kingfish , dolphin , mahi , dorado ect.... But it is usually marinated with what is called " leche de Tigre" which is the lemony juice Wich the fish is marinated in, followed my purple onions which are marinated the same time as the fish , and choclo which is a kind of maize , cilantro and some sour oranges.... And last but not least the rocoto pepper paste to spice it up , and inca cola and some nice salty cancha!!
Also, ceviche has nothing to do with dairy at all.
I apologize ahead of time for the likelihood of sounding so critical, but is it possible to just let Hiroyuki do his thing without all the commentary? I'm sure you're well meaning, but to me you sound like you're talking to a child instead of a master Sushi chef. Constant questions and your need for the most mundane explanations, are annoying and distracting, making the videos like repeated reminders that you are his boss and we viewers are idiots.
Why not just introduce the food, the technique, whatever, and allow him to do his thing with only minimal comments? I understand that he is not inclined to being talkative, but that is the beauty of his craft. Otherwise, with your constant questions, your never ending need for him to explain every little thing, the videos really lose the effect, the reflection of just how great he really is.
With all due respect. I do love what you are doing here.
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef im fine with the commentary. it helps me learn how to make what you a making better
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef hey im the first number that you said lol
+Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef... Please excuse my waiting so long to respond, but I really have to thank you for the professional and informative way you answered. I see your point and it makes perfect sense. Something I had't considered. In any case, yet one more reason why I am so happy to be a subscriber. Best to you and Hiroyuki!
I agree with you
I appreciate the cameraman guiding hero knowing his lack of English skills. The one thing I don't appreciate it's what he tells him how much to put in something or how little to put in something hero is the MasterChef and should be honored that way
You're cooking skills are awesome, like I watched your blindfolded and cutting cucumber I was amazed.
I don't watch sushi videos except for these ones, I really enjoy watching these. Thanks for all the videos that you post, and will keep watching for more. Thanks

This souldn´t be called ceviche. The best ceviches are latins. And have a lot more of ingredients like tomato, pepper, cilantro, lemon juice, etc. This is just an octopus salad, but it isn't ceviche.
Yes! Ceviche Peruano is the best :)
Carlos A. Cortes Ceviche is classified as a seafood dish cured with citrus juices and spiced with pepper
and this is not cured. It is cooked, with a salad dressing added.
Carlos A. Cortes en peru existe un Plato que se llama ceviche nikkei ( lo comen mucho Los peruanos japoneses ) y es casi igual
WOW That looks soo good, love you guys
I love watching your videos! They inspire me to keep learning new techniques, keep up the great work.
Looks delicious but don't call it ceviche, because it's not.
+Geoffrey Smart you are right, ceviche is supposed to be cooked with lime juice
+iAnthonyFx thats only the fish ceviche octopus ceviche is made like this ofc this has asian twist on it
+Geoffrey Smart I thought i was the only one to notice it.

This chef is very clean and organized , a sign of a great chef is not just his or her technique but the ability to keep a clean working area is also very telling of how good a chef really is.
+Kevin Grey Just his, not his/her. There is no great female chef.
