Hey Matt, love this video series! Got a suggestion for yah. I like to listen while I'm doing other things (cooking, working out, etc), and sometimes while I'm listening, I get really interested in the book, but you don't keep the book's cover on screen for very long. I try to scrub timeline to see thumbnails, and it's a bit hard to catch. Would you consider leaving covers on screen just a little bit longer?
Looking forward to rest of the series!
How long would be good do you think?
Looks like your average is about 5-7 secs. On my phone I just tested scrubbing with my thumb, and moving a little changed timestamp from 10-18ish secs on average, so I would think 15 secs would be good enough to make catching the desired thumbnail easy.
@@MattsFantasyBookReviews I agree. It would be nice for the cover to be on for a little longer. Also, you didn't put chapters on this video. That would help a lot too
I would prefer seeing the covers as long as he speaks about the book
🙋♀️ I agree. Maybe 10-11 seconds? ❤
Hey Matt, small suggestion here but in the future how about a rank comparison how many spots each book has gone up or down from the previous update in your rankings? That way the loyal viewers who watch every year have one more interesting element/reason to watch again as it's updated every year or two?
Yeah it's a good idea. Thanks!
Really like this series of rankings. Think you nail this a notch higher than most booktubers
Really enjoy your reviews . Thank for your time

Great larry correia made into top 100, it was a such a good surprise.
The next three books of wandering inn on your tbr rain/blood/ tears of liscor are written almost like a triology so I suggest don't take longer break between books, as first book is basically a setup for payoff of next two volumes, and these books bleed seamlessly into next with small quantity of side chs for charactes outside izril.
Hoping to finish Green Bone next month and I'm finally starting Bone Ships 🙌🏼🤓
Wow! Can’t believe some of the titles popping up already. Can’t wait to get to top 10.
Before They are Hanged is my favorite book from that first trilogy. Every POV top notch.
Especially Glokta in Dagoska
Yeah that might be the high point of the book for me.
I've recently read the first trilogy and I'd say it's also my favorite one. The first one is a lot of setup and not much happens. The second one is a nice journey. I liked the third one, but I'm still deciding if I liked the ending or not. I felt he made an unsatisfying ending on purpose, something I wasn't expecting. So that makes the second one the one where everything seemed to be going well.
@@nathantowns2043 Yeah,it's Glokta's book after all.First one is Logen and third Jezal ! :)
@@rafaelsousa2633yeah, you don’t feel *good* at the end of Abercrombie novels lol
I had the same reaction at the end of another of his books, but later I realized I looooved it, I just was sad and angry about events that happened. But it took a helluva skill set to make me care that much
My TBR is screaming by this point :))
My biggest complaint of ASoIF and WoT is pov’s of characters I didnt find interesting enough and struggling with their chapters. Only two series to ever do that for me. So I get what you mean by that.
I cannot get enough of The Wandering Inn! I began the series in late fall 2023, and I MAY "catch up" by 2025! 😂 That's A LOT of time in one series in 14-ish months! 🎉🎉🎉 It just gets BETTER & BETTER!!!
Ooooohhhhh YEEEAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! ANOTHER ONE!
"This author puts out" -Matt @19:22
That "little bit" in the veiled throne that was completely unnecessary was close to a 100 000 words
LOL
Read. The. Runelords. I will wait years if i must but you must read ittttt
I have to introduce a webnovel to everyone its damn good Emperor's Domination., The Dark Crow Li Qiye is pure badass 😊
Hope you didn't give anything away with the mention of those names and the white tower for Jordan
Most people I've heard pronounce Aiel like Eye-eel. But who cares! Lol. Your list is impressive. I could never organize my preferences in this way. I guess that's part of why I'm not a booktuber.
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks!
Yep. I started to post the same thing until I read your comment. I’ve heard the same in audiobooks and on other discussions and panels about the books.
@DrMetalpin right. I re-read the series on Audible a couple of years ago, and Michael and Kate pronounced it that way. The Dusty Wheel channel does too. So I'm going with it!
It's not a Matt video without The First Binding being driven through the mud 😅
The crazy part is I don't even remember doing it!
Larry Correia is the man.
Miss the timestamps!! :(((
I'll make sure to put them into the next one!
You forgot chapters for this video
After having read about Larry Correia’s political views, it upsets me a bit to hear you want to read more from him… but thanks for prompting the research, I’ll stay clear of his books
I don't care about the political views of the people who create the media I consume. If I did, that would be a miserable experience. There's a difference between the artist and the art.
Woke...🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
What does persons political opinion has to do with the quality of their art ?
Just a cancel culture thing I suppose.
Ooh, that’s a little bit of a spoiler for WoT book 4. Was wondering when they’d get to that location…
I have never heard anyone say the second first law book is the worst in the trilogy. It's even the highest rated of the trilogy on Goodreads.
Dropping in an ad/promo with no warning? Icky.
The Dragon Rising, I mean, The Shadow Rising is where RJ does something amazing, and I don't know if anyone else had done it before, where he mentions these super cool legendary people (the Aiel) in the first few books, always lauding them and putting them on a pedestal as if they are all like batman, and then in book 4 he throws us in their midst and makes it clear that they actually have individual personalities with leaders and criminals, good people and bad, many of them highly flawed, contentious people, breaking down all the cliches that readers expect in a fantasy novel.
I had a hard time with Before they are Hanged mainly because it was never ever clear where the story was going. It's hard to root for characters when you don't know what any of them are expecting or expected to accomplish. Logen's fault of course for blatantly telling Byaz that he didn't want to know. What a douche. And the ending was very flat. Fortunately we had the Last Argument of Kings to pick up the threads and actually take them somewhere. Even so, some of the things that happen in book 3 that sort of explain the failed quest of book 2 didn't feel earned. I think Byaz would have figured it out, Jezal needed more time to grow, and the author sent them on the quest just because.
Dioch
Read The Wandering Inn NOW!! 🦆
I don't think "controversial" is quite the right way to describe a bunch of racist old men who wanted to gate keep fantasy and resented more diverse voices and themes being recognised...
I think the controversy is that there are multiple sides to that story.
