Dave opens the cavity and starts in with terrified babbling like Richard Dreyfuss in Jaws when viewing the shark-munched body...
good description
Ha ha ha. I love when dave opens the pickup cavity and goes nuts…..
Here in the USA, Robertson screws were used in the mobile/ travel trailer industry for decades and still are.
Love that bass. I had one just like it. Might have been a 71.
9h, that colour takes me back. Glad the truss rod worked. Nice bass. Great job.
August 1972 ... the hot hit was "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress"
No place I'd be than spending my Sunday afternoon with Dave Cheers 😁
Enjoy!
Geezaloo I thought my soldering was bad holy moly that's a mess.
That is a mess, but we know that Dave is the master of un-messing messes.
Just to funny over here watching actual looney tunes while i reseat some frets love the intro work Dave!
Nice looking bass. Hopefully, you can get it back to playing shape. I turned my headphones up when you removed the pickguard screws.
That's going to cost a lot to get it fixed. Vintage pickups are not cheap. Can't wait to see it working again though. Cheers Dave.
fender vintage p bass pickup is about $150
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff oh, not too bad then.
I would never sell my beautiful 71 pbass. It plays like butter. I have it worked in every year.
I was 2 years old when that beauty was made. I would love to be able to afford a nice 1970 Fender Precision bass. I have a 2012 American standard precision bass that looks almost like that one you're working on. I love yours videos bro👍
I had a 1978 Fender Jazz Bass
I destroyed it in 1989.
I regret that.
Dave *works on a P bass for the millionth time*
Me ‘hell yeah’
Hey Dave. I was at the Elmira vintage guitar show today. Bought some stuff from Solo guitars booth. Told them l subscribe to your channel. They speak very highly of you. Cheers
Awesome! Thank you!
Dave, a good video here , The Banana Bread is Funny Shit, all of the static and the control knobs , is another Foot Pedal someone does not have to buy, LOL, You can laugh at that i'm sure, Keep the great videos coming , Cousin Figel
Ya know it's going to be a good segment when Dave starts out with "OH geezzz, say a little prayer for me" 😅
I know there’s usually a patient in need of serious help when I see your videos coming in parts. My first Bass was a mid 70’s Precision. Thanks! ✌️🎻🙂😎
Me: "Houston - we've got a problem..."
(kinda goes with the coat you've got on)
Banana Bread. Love it :)
Your army is behind you dave. Great vid.
Good job Dave!
it just amazes me how over the 50 years this guitar has existed, that it could be screwed up this much. some people just think with their ass!!
I know it should get Fender pups, but the Seymour Duncan antiquity pups aren’t too bad as an alternative 🙃👍
I still use the nail polish trick on the bridge saddles, I went a little fancy and went with matt translucent 😂, just a little dab.
Works like a charm.
Just remember. It’s like guitar
Another cool vid Dave!
If I came acrossed a bass like that, I’d have you bring it back to life for sure! It’s gonna be cool! 👍
She'll be a brand new bass when you get finished!
Great video.
7:25 I knew something was gonna be totally gooched, things were going far too well.
Nail polish, the original LocTite.
banana bread Fred! hahahaha
Arc welding on a pot?
geezer butler emg arent VINTAGE but get the vibe for low cost
quality instruments are easy to repair
OMG !!!
Love a Robertson
Nice looking Pbass! Wrecking a Phillips head screw? Try your moms steak knife!
That bass needs salvation !
That poor Fender was definitely borked by a space invader or 2 👽
Bass related fun fact Lemmy Kilmister's real last name was Axminster as he was heir to the axminster carpet fortune, but the record label felt it was too political and violent and requested he changed it
Hey Dave, Love your channel. Any chance you can tell me the orange/blue screwdrivers you use? I am looking for a new decent set like those.
Thanks man
old and gone ..get a set of high voltage electrician drivers..this is what the are ..search amazon
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff thank you!!
This was no boating accident, did you notify the Coast Guard?
Maybe it WAS Jack the Ripper?
A bass from 1972 that has never had a neck adjustment ?
How the heck was it ever played ?
Damn Canadians. Just kidding… Dad is from Canada.
send the pup to pickup wizard for rewind.
new vintage Fender pickup is Cheaper and the same..$150 for a new fender pup..or wait 2 months for a rewind and get the same thing with way more BS..that is someting for later
@@DavesWorldofFunStuffur call this one’s your work.
Robertson ftw. JIS and torx, too.
Phillips are crap.
The discoloration of the neck near the fingerboard on the treble side concerns me.
62 years of playing wear ..wake up
@@DavesWorldofFunStuff Makes sense.
Play at 1.25x speed. Thank me later.
Love that bass. I had one just like it. Might have been a 71.
