Thank goodness for this video. I was told by a Bosch engineer who came out that you'll never get clothes to dry as older driers did. This is because of the Grenfell Towers disaster where a domestic appliance started the fire that spread to the cladding. An engineer who came to install my new dishwasher told me that was rubbish I had been told about my tumble drier!
Thank you. I've been very frustrated with my clothes remaining damp. I've read the manual over and over but I'll take on your tips. It seems I've had a universal problem.
The fluff filter must be cleaned every time. The fine mesh will block and will not let moisture pass through the condenser. So moisture stays in the drum. I clean the filter under running water and rub the mesh between my finger to remove the build up of limescale from the filter. If you can blow through the mesh and feel, the air pass through, it’s clear. Got this tip from reading the comments on another you tube vid.
This dryer is the worst! Your video is very helpful however I would still tell anyone who is considering this model to steer clear! Thanks for your advice :)
Thanks for the support Victoria. There is also a Heat Level Setting along the bottom row which makes a huge difference if you're having trouble getting your clothes dry. Give that a go if you haven't already. My biggest gripe with the machine is the fluff filter. Could that thing be designed any worse? You pull it out and fluff drops out on the floor and for some reason you have two separate filters, each as bad as the other. Why? My old condenser dryers filter was so much better. Appreciate the comment. Cheers.
I must admit, I’ve never really had a problem with it. It does take longer than a condensing drier but runs on a third of the electric. With heat pump technology you have to get into a different mind set and play the longer game👍🏻😀

Usual excellent Bosch quality , just a bit surprised that they did not pick up a problem with drying items properly or resolve the tangling issues during testing .... surely they actually test an appliance before it is let loose on the general public ?
Having had this dryer (series 4 but still a heat pump Bosch) for a while, I much prefer it to really any other drier, simply because it looks after clothes so much better. I think the heat inside only gets up to 40-50c depending on the ambient temperature, where as conventional driers literally cook the clothes, shrink elastic bands and pill garments while stretching them out of shape. I’m happy to wait 2.5 hours for dry clothes if it has used 1/3 the energy and actually protecting my laundry lol

With bed sheets, you have to take them out every hour and put them back in. They tend to roll in a ball. I also use dryer balls to stop my bed sheets from going into a ball.
First of all, you have to turn off “Easy Iron” setting EVERY TIME! “Easy Iron” means keeps the laundry damp for ironing. Let me emphatically agree with this comment. I replaced a 33 year old Zanussi Tumble Dryer with a Bosch Heat Pump Dryer 9 months ago. It has never dried any of my clothes to my satisfaction, even though I clean ALL the filters and the condenser after every use. Never in all the years with the Zanussi did I need to dry at the high heat setting. I never once ran a program longer than 60 minutes, even when drying large bath towels. By contrast, this Bosch device needs over 5 hours to achieve the same level of dryness the Zanussi would deliver in 20 to 30 minutes. The partially dry towel I then has to be left for another day or two hanging inside the house before it is dry enough to use, The Bosch is a piece of wildly over-priced, under-performing junk. Never again. Oh and btw, the Zanussi required 1 service call out in those 33 years - to replace a failed drive belt. I am going to be most surprised if this Bosch device lasts even 3 years.
On the inside opening, there are deep holes all around, that face the drum. I pulled heaps of built up fluff out of them all! Is there a sensor in one of these, bc it's drying much better now
We have had ours for 7 years and find by washing the filters, in the reverse flow direction gently rubbing the surfaces, every few months keeps the filters. I also clean the filters every time with a small garden blower again in the reverse flow direction.
This was the first thing we did. We’ve tried everything from twisting sheets by hand(how ridiculous), but nothing works. And by the way, why have lesser settings. Who puts your clothes on to make them just damp? This machine wouldn’t even do my socks and undies with a small load on the highest setting for 8 hours!!!!!
Apart from the Fluff Filter design, l still consider it a great dryer. I can't really compare it to other brands as I haven't owned any, but hopefully this video lets you know what to look at when comparing. Thanks for the support.

I do what you say but when I press extra time I get a p come up in the screen and machine won’t start program, why does drying clothes have to be so difficult 😢
My biggest problem with these is the design is absolutely horrendous for long term use. After about 2.5 years i noticed the drying time significantly increased (got to the point of taking 7hrs to dry a single load at the 3 yr mark).. i had cleaned all 3 filters every load.. i pulled it apart which is definitely not designed for average users (about 40 torx screws, removing the entire drum and horrible plastic clips over the evaporator).. the ENTIRE dryer was caked on the inside with lint. Literally every nook and cranny.. really lucky this didn't start a fire.. ive worked on many very OLD standard dryers and never found anywhere near this level of lint. Anyway it took a few hours to clean, now it's good as new.. but seriously this means the average user would have to fork out a few hundred dollars for a service tech after warranty expires, or buy a new dryer.. disgusting way to fleece customers out of money. Highly recommend avoiding bosch heat pump dryers to anyone considering unless you are happy to waste a few hours of ur time every couple of years!
Hey Wozzgalaxy. Sorry to hear about the troubles you've had, but I'm not surprised. The design of the filters themselves are what drives me crazy. You pull the filters out to clean them and bits of fluff go everywhere. How this passed the design and testing stage, I'll never know. Appreciate the comment. Cheers.
@@JustAwesomeCommercials yeah i noticed that too! When i pulled it apart i also realised the drum is designed with small circular cutouts at the back which i think helps lint get spread through the machine! My experience was with a series 4. Painful for such an expensive dryer!
I did the same, deconstructed right down to the condenser box. I cleaned it all out (very caked with lint) and the dryer started performing again. Trouble is, 12 months later, the performance has, yet again, tailed off significantly and I'm faced with either pulling it all apart again, or getting something rather better, including a reverse cycle. A very poor design from Bosch. (mine is a series 8)
Hey Tom. The sensors seem to have issues when it comes to detecting the moisture left in things like towels and bed sheets. When it comes to drying a load of clothes, it works just fine. As to why this happens, I don't know. For me, it was just a case of how to get around the problem.
I also have the same dryer that's why am here. I have never used the cotton setting because of the length of time displayed and all the other settings don't dry our clothes. We have been using the last setting the timed program warm by setting it to 2 hrs and that's the only way it dry our clothes. Now we have a problem as the dryer stops/pauses and beeps every like 20 minutes showing the water sign even when the water tank is empty and the filter is clean. It has been like that for 2 months now so we just have to keep pushing the button to continue the cycle until the clothes are dried enough. If we don't, the dryer is continuesly on it won't off but does nothing. Anyone know how we can fix this without calling an expensive technician? TIA.
Hi, we have the same problem with a 8 series, stopping during a cycle and beeping, even though the water tank is empty. From what I noticed, it happens mostly during summer when it gets quite hot in the house and when We are drying our second cycle of clothes in a row. We still don’t have a solution for this..
Completely defeats the purpose of these appliances if one has to come back to it and check the dampness and rerun the cycle. Would not buy one of these.
but for ever drying target you have 3 drying level to adjast you know that right? so most of peoples will use mix with level 2 (the 2 suns) and everything came out dry you can chose 3 sun for the thick stuff! and but the way, cold timed program doesen't dry at all is just air. sir you miss understand the basic setting of your machine! so you dont have to switch from closeth to closeth plus but leave closeth and add 1 or 2 or 3 sun before to switch to closeth plus that is to much and even in closeth plus you can still regulate 3 sun
Haha. I was wondering when someone would discover that and chime in with a comment. You my friend, are a champion. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers, 👍

I use the settings you pointed out there for 5 hrs!! None of the settings remotely work. The spin dry of the washing machine works better. Since day 1 this dryer has never worked properly. My old $200 dryer works better than this $1500 crap.
Terrible product! Mine worked great for 11 months, I’d dry using Mix program and setting drying level to 2 suns.
We still don’t have a solution for this..
thanks sir for shari g this video
What's the photo at 3:45?😂
Thank you so much!
Has anyone checked minute 3:44 of this video? 😅
🧒🩱?
Yeah lol. That was funny. Just noticed it.
Oh I see it’s a joke about delicates. Joke was too fast to be detected as a joke
Name of cutter is Tyler Durden
Completely defeats the purpose of these appliances if one has to come back to it and check the dampness and rerun the cycle. Would not buy one of these.
Wat r pants in Australia?
but for ever drying target you have 3 drying level to adjast you know that right? so most of peoples will use mix with level 2 (the 2 suns) and everything came out dry you can chose 3 sun for the thick stuff! and but the way, cold timed program doesen't dry at all is just air. sir you miss understand the basic setting of your machine! so you dont have to switch from closeth to closeth plus but leave closeth and add 1 or 2 or 3 sun before to switch to closeth plus that is to much and even in closeth plus you can still regulate 3 sun
What's with the person at 3:44???
Yes.... i particularly liked the guy dressed as a girl in pink sexy outfit at 3.44 min. Was his clothing being dried during the making of the video ?
Lmao that delicates flash was good
Tq
I have only used this 4 times, why won't it dry? I'm pretty pissed off after spending a lot of money on this shit box!!!!
I saw the flash 😉 lol
Haha. I was wondering when someone would discover that and chime in with a comment. You my friend, are a champion. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers, 👍
@@JustAwesomeCommercials lol cheeky . being female perhaps add a stud also 😉 ps thanks for advice ..my machine driving me nuts and I’m trying what you said now and just this moment checked and it worked..thanks.
@WhatwouldPICARDdo Makeitso That WAS a stud. Give it a pause and you'll see. I would never subject the world to me in women's lingerie. 🤔 Glad the video worked for you. I'm starting a new video this week on how to take full manual control of the dryer to override the predetermined settings. Keep an eye open for that one. Thanks again for all your support. Cheers.
I see it now 😂.
Why should anyone be needing to do all of this crap after spending over $1000 on a dryer. Bosch should be going to every customer and resetting it
Are you being paid by Bosch to convince us that this hunk of junk is ok?
I use the settings you pointed out there for 5 hrs!! None of the settings remotely work. The spin dry of the washing machine works better. Since day 1 this dryer has never worked properly. My old $200 dryer works better than this $1500 crap.
Best information 3:43
03:44 what the hell is that lol???
Just trow it in the bin.
@3:44 ??
Terrible product! Mine worked great for 11 months, I’d dry using Mix program and setting drying level to 2 suns. After 11 months of usage it started not to dry properly anymore, now it takes over 3 hours to dry the same amount of clothes I used to dry in 1:30! The technician is coming next week and I’ll let you know what’s going on.
So, what happened?
Why did you have a lingerie girl pop up in the video for a split second while you talked about delicate setting
I hate this dryer, I can’t believe how long it takes to dry
Why at the 3:45 mark do you flash an image of a girl's midriff in a school uniform? Sicko 🤢
3:44 wtf?
alllllll these settings but only 1 actually works. classic over engineering 😂
3:44 😂 really?
3:45 uhm, what
Yep, exactly, its a real piece of crap.
Lols 😂 why did BOSCH make this dryer so complicated
Service man says must remove towel else cannot dry the clothing! Bloody dryer ! Worst of all !
