you fancy 688 users and your midrange EQs! really like the lyrics on this one. also that sucks that your bass is broken. would've been cool to have heard the bass you would've laid down here.

Man, I love these recording/Mixdown videos with your 688! Tis cool the way you combined the organ drum beat with a live kit, and I really dig that extra vocal harmony you’ve added in. I’ve not checked your description yet, but I hope this is on Spotify so I can hear the final mix. 👌

Thank you so much! 😃 I appreciate it 🙏 I do miss my old drum kit, was so much fun to record on tape. It’s not on Spotify yet, it will be added to the 2-a-month churn though, so hopefully soon!

Great stuff! Care to elaborate on how you master your songs before sending them of to streaming platforms?

Hey thanks! Yes, I use an Ozone 8 limiter, sometimes their master compressor too (or an SSL/Fairchild plugin depending on my mood lol). But that’s it really. I don’t need to add any saturation and I tend to ruin things if I attempt a master EQ haha. I don’t do any imaging because normally the mixes are wide enough because it’s a lot of hard-panned mono instruments…so really just a light compression and limiting. I use a free YouLean level meter to check the master volume and then it’s done!

This whole format is fantastic my friend…I really enjoy this as someone learning…hearing it on the fly makes the most sense 👌
Dude….is everything we’re hearing off the HN2? I’ve made my mind up if it is 😎🫂❤️✨

Oh great! I’m happy to hear that, I’ll definitely be doing more lengthy vids on here. All audio is the H2N, yes! You can run the audio from the tape machine to it with a 1/8inch jack and then the in-built mics pick up the voice! I didn’t even know it could do this when I got it 😆, nice surprise!!
