You've covered it all, I think; I'd just say GREAT song on a GREAT album, by a GREAT band! (I have vinyl LP copy, but prefer to listen on RUclips, to save my grooves, for when the weinies finally kick me off the internet. . .)
On Jan 30 1973 I was standing up on the seats in front of the stage at Preston Guild Hall two yards away from Jimmy Page as he came back on stage for the first encore and layed into heartbreaker... the whole gig was magic. It was the first live concert I'd ever seen, a total thrill.I knew all the tracks on the first 4 Albums with a spécial préférence at that time for N°4. They opened the set with 'Rock and Roll' and that was it, a surge of pure joy which lasted throughout the gig, and lingered for days and is still there when I hear the songs again. Much gratitude to them for all their works.
Beat you to it - January 22 1973 The Old Refrectory Southampton University, 600 people crammed into an old dining room, I was 10 feet from the stage - the boys played played an immense set over 3 hours, I've got the bootleg - "Any Port in a Storm - The Lost Soundboard Show". I've still got the ticket, £1 - best quid I've ever spent. (Saw Bowie at the Southampton Guildhall that June - Aladdin Sane tour - bloody brilliant too - those were the days!).
Between 2:04-2:48- I have to be near an oxygen tank as it takes my breath away. DAMN! In that moment, it's the most incredible guitar solo of all time.
One of the many favorite Zeppelin songs!!! It takes me out of this world....Robert Plant's vocals and Jimmy Page's guitar solo's....incredible and out of this world!!!!
dont understand your comment Daniel. I was a junior in high school when this music came out. I became obsessed with LZ! People that vote it down may never appreciate it like myself and others do.
Quinn Hunt and same with hit the lights by metallica, pops out selena gomez. and people are stupid enough to ask "why did metallica copy selena gomez's song title" even if its meant to come off as a joke, its not funny
Don't worry too much about Gomez, Bieber or Gaga. They will all disappear shortly. People like Jimmy Page, Cory Heart, or John McLaughlin will take a much longer time to disappear.
+Corey Juhasz i did that and got mariah carey as the first result, "the good one" brings up this version as second result, first result was an urban dictionary entry
Led Zeppelin as we came to love them! It´s fantastic that they in a sense are the same today, almost 50 years later. That is the way gigants are, they never go out of style......
+EndofUSA His fans go around disliking good music, because that means his name will invariably appear on EVERY COMMENT PAGE ON RUclips. The Justin Bieber Fan Club appreciates your cooperation.
some of the best acapelo guitar shredding ever......I love Eddie VAN Halen and Jimmy Paige....woo hoo sex drugs and rock n roll......born in 68 spent my prime listening to music like this.....thanks for great post
It's so great for a change hearing this masterpiece end in silence unbroken by a 2nd entirely unrelated song, thanx. It really did help me almost get over the album cover heheheh >:^D) 2 million views for this...:: thumbs up ::
The Solo is The "Essence of Rock n Roll" Steve Vai said .. Jimmy Page is STILL Nr. 1 His Solo where not only "Most Possible amount of Notes Put together" (Like much of todays Players) It was The PURE SEX with a Guitar
Gave Bieber's version a listen-a big ehh. I did a youtube search on Heartbreaker and of the 6 that displayed, the only one I like is Pat Benatar's Heartbreaker, which is a different song than this, but is good. I'd still take this over any song named Heartbreaker I've heard. One of the best songs by Zep imo-which is saying a lot!
everry t ime you put that evil JB name into a comment, Google includes it as a factor in ranking (RUclips IS Google); say it proudly: ONLY LED ZEPPELIN SINGS THE GOOD HEARTBREAKER!
@@sdgakatbk indeed it is! Zep put out a LOT of excellence. . . I like Benatar in general; I don't compare the two songs by the same name -- Benatar sings well, & Zep does, too, for different day+moods. . . Let's get Led Zeppelin's name in these comments more than that JB idiot's
My favourite song when I was 12. Now I`m in a 3-piece cover band with a couple buddies and I get to play this ( we switch bass and guitar duties back and forth). As soon as the bass and drums kick in at the beginning the goose bumps happen, man what a rush!
The solo makes me melt man. It almost makes me forget Hendrix it's so Damn good. And then how they have that little jam part in the end of the solo going back to the song. Only Pagey would do that man.
But Led Zeppelin holds up, because they made superior music. Nobody sounded better then. Nobody sounds better now. Are they supposed to be out of date now? The critics didn't like them then.
"This song had the biggest impact on me as a youth. It was defiant, bold, and edgier than hell. It really is the definitive rock guitar solo." (Steve Vai - 1998)
I don't condone violence of any sorts; BUT when JUSTIN BIEBER'S NAME comes up while downloading ZEPPELIN then someone needs to answer some questions. While starring down the barrel of a 12 GAUGE.
YOU just helped get JB in Google searches for this song, because youtube IS Google. I only speak of the sheer greatess that is Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, & Heartbreaker. . .
well i mean thats it right there...todays "musicians" suck live..back then it was ALL ABOUT the live performance, sure todays musicians do an average job live but they fail to bring that wow factor that these old bands like LZ, ACDC, GNR, RHCP did. I was going to say that todays musicians lack soul in their playing but then I remembered that its rare to even see them playing an actual instrument...
My mobile ringtone. Excellent choice if I say so myself, even if it was released 12 years before I was born. On another note, Im sure it has been pointed out before but this song is actually on Led Zep 2 .
A buddy of mine played this at the school talent show in 8th grader (this past May) best damn performance of the entire thing. He also had another of our buddies playing drums. Everyone I talked too said he was the best. Why: both he and this song are freaking awesome!
Wow these guys were really great!! Of course when you were young and in the condition i was both times i saw them, well you figure it out but they were great!!
Okay, I'm 15. My mother grew up to led zeppelin, my ex left me because hes a heartbreaker. and i still rock to this song (:. This band is his favorite. I walk in school and see him with my led zeppelin shirt on. And I keep my head up . Hell yeah.
GREAT drums,
GREAT bass,
GREAT voice,
GREAT guitar.
what else?
Great engineering, recording, and producing. And to think Page had a hand in EVERYTHING that was done. Daunting stuff.
right!
You've covered it all, I think; I'd just say GREAT song on a GREAT album, by a GREAT band! (I have vinyl LP copy, but prefer to listen on RUclips, to save my grooves, for when the weinies finally kick me off the internet. . .)

That guitar is so dirty and raw, fucking love it!

I will NEVER forget the first time I heard this "song". It made a huge impact on my life. Thank you Jimmy Page and Robert Plant!
Between 2:04-2:48- I have to be near an oxygen tank as it takes my breath away. DAMN!

Beautiful Riff

+Daniel Williams I have the album it has an inner disc you can turn that changes the images that show through the circle cutouts of the album cover
+Lark Silverwolf
The LP cover pictured here is actually to ZEP 3. Not ZEP 2.

Also talk dirty to me by poison, but Jason derulo is all that shows up
Not really. All it takes is to be more observant when you "look around"!
Este tema tuvo, tiene y tendrá toda la onda. Es tan rocker
The whole of the groove that defines this badass song is in the SHAKER overdub. God bless Bonham.
I typed heartbreaker into to google, first came up Justin Bieber. Then I added "the good one" after it up came Zeppelins lol.
Liar
Episode 6x10^4 on things that never happened

Go away heartbreaker
Why did you had to go and break poor Jimmy's heart?
Why did you have to make the band sad?
Hell yeah. When my son is born I fully plan on having him listen to Led Zeppelin growing up. My son WILL have good taste in music.
Heartbreaker - Led Zeppelin.
Awesome rif from Page,Master-God of quitar!!!
Of all the beautiful guitarwork in this song, you focus on the riff?

Now thats the best band ever
It's so great for a change hearing this masterpiece end in silence unbroken by a 2nd entirely unrelated song, thanx. It really did help me almost get over the album cover heheheh >:^D)
2 million views for this...:: thumbs up ::
words cannot describe how hard this song goes, especially after the guitar solo, john bonham probably damn near broke his sticks after that!
i love playing this bassline. so chill yet badass.

It was The PURE SEX with a Guitar
I agree, however. Tony iommi is the best riffer hands down...
Wait guys Jimi Hendrix is dead..... ALIENS
steve vai ACTUALLY has sex with his guitar and he needs lube.
So Jimmy Page isn't playing lead in this one? Or am I missing something?
Page made sweet love to EVERYONE in the audience! Sweet aural pleasure!
on replay for about 4 hours now, cant get enough of it!!
When i type Heartbreaker in youtube i expect Led Zeppelin or Pat Benatar, not mother fucking justin beiber

who could dislike this !!
I don't hate bieber, but I don't like him either. I DO hate the fact that he made a song by this name. Shoutout to bass players!
stop using his name & Google will finally get it right hsat his song should ONLY be associoated with the BEST: LED ZEPPELIN FOREVER!!!
The solo makes me melt man. It almost makes me forget Hendrix it's so Damn good. And then how they have that little jam part in the end of the solo going back to the song. Only Pagey would do that man.

Lol I always use 12 gauge shotguns as a term for my threatenings and funny things.
The solo is absolutely amazing
You know a band is good, when the live version is better than studio. In this one the solo is too short.
well i mean thats it right there...todays "musicians" suck live..back then it was ALL ABOUT the live performance, sure todays musicians do an average job live but they fail to bring that wow factor that these old bands like LZ, ACDC, GNR, RHCP did. Led Zeppelin never did a live version better than this studio version. It's an absolute masterpiece.
My mobile ringtone. Excellent choice if I say so myself, even if it was released 12 years before I was born.
On another note, Im sure it has been pointed out before but this song is actually on Led Zep 2 .
Dat solo
And how big a "boner" it truly gives you? Rather than asking yourself why you love this music (and Jimmy Page) so much?
Wat??
Metalman\m/
Just wanted to tell you that some music survives, and some doesn't.
K.den
justinbgaga What the hell are you talking about?
A buddy of mine played this at the school talent show in 8th grader (this past May) best damn performance of the entire thing. He also had another of our buddies playing drums. Everyone I talked too said he was the best. Why: both he and this song are freaking awesome!
Urg this song is so hard to play on the guitar
which part do you find difficult ?
fazeel ashraf Everything, man. The badass riff, the complex solo, EVERYTHING.
fazeel ashraf its just i cut my index and middle finger so its hard to put pressure on the strings
FlyingDonutz Is for me, at least. Or maybe I just suck :P

My favourite Led Zeppelin song!
Bad cover of Justin Beiber's song

+Samantha Wetta it is. Justin is the original. These guys are alright
+Grooven fish have a look at the year when this song was made. Even I wasn't even thought of, (and I'm 40) not to mention the Bieber child.
animacs1 nah it was made by Beiber , get some education
+Tobasse Gaming yes, in 1969, obviously :)))
i LOVE it...the fact that it's III not II just draws more attention! ROCK ON>
It took me a full year to teach myself to play that solo, but good night nurse, it is a wonderful thing to know.
This is a super great one video love it to hear good awesome music.
"...Heartbreaker, your time has come. Can't take your evil ways. Go away, you heart...breaker!"
I'm 35, Russian, and i love Led Zeppelin!
Everytime I hear the solo, I get goosebumps!!
I just rediscovered the classics man! I listen to this stuff at work!
I'm only 12 and all I listen to is classic rock and led zeppelin is like my 3rd favorite!!
Wow these guys were really great!! Of course when you were young and in the condition i was both times i saw them, well you figure it out but they were great!!
Led Zeppelin's awesomeness made the length go into eternity as in 0:00!
I love this solo, one of the best solos I love from Page.

The bass in this song is my favorite thing about it. I love what your Precision has to say about it. :)
Greatest band of all time period.
Shivers down my spine.
I used to listen to pop and top 40. Then I heard this. Definitely my favorite song.
